Just what it should be.

Got it and checked factory calibration on a very still morning on my three acre pond. Set it up on one side and shot the water height. When 120 yards away, other side of pond, and shot water height. It was less than a 1/4". Close enough for me. the case is big, but it is nice to have it all together. Used it on one job so far and it was great. I run a skid steer by myself. Saved time.

Only got this onto one job so far, but it worked well. Everything came in a large case, with a large sturdy tripod. This kit is big and heavy (about 4’ long), but really nice –one of the reasons I chose the Johnson is because it came with a full size tripod and standard 13’ grade rod, versus most of the others I’ve looked at with smaller tripods and mini 8’ rods – the 13 footer lets me check basement excavations from above so for me it’s a must.
