Always used cross-cut before, this thing rocks. Micro-cut is the way to go.

It takes a little getting used to as it will stop mid shred if it hits a certain tempers, but overall it’s worth the money. I can get quite a bit shredded at one time and the operation is smooth. The waste bucket holds a good load before it needs to be empty. The confetti shred makes the paper fine enough for compost, depending on what materials are being shredded of course.

First minutes on job: Like that it's smaller and quieter than my old defunct Fellowes, but after the first five minutes, this new machine got temperamental and just stopped. Called Customer Service and got it going again. Hoping for the best. I do like it. Raised rating - have used for a while. Doing its job beautifully.

Really shreds into small pieces. Works great!

Very good shredder. I've had the Fellowes Powershred 8MC5 8-Sheet Micro-Cut Shredder for almost a year now and everything works perfectly. I have shredded 8 sheets of paper together and that worked fine (even shredded 10 okay!), I have shredded credit cards down the middle where indicated and that works fine also. I even tried shredding a few papers with staples left in them and they went through the shredding fine also. Also easy to shred very thin items like cashier receipts by doubling them over or just inserting them along with a regular piece of paper. (Definitely not DVDs however!) And there's only a low noise level while shredding. Emptying is easy, no problem there. I get my shredding organized beforehand so I've never gone beyond the 5-minute continuous run time when it shuts off on its own for a cooldown. If I'm organized beforehand, I can shred a ton in 5 minutes! So it's great for my home office needs..

Perfect shredder for home use. It's smaller size fits most places and it's fairly quiet. The safety lock is a nice feature and the microchip cut gives outstanding security for all your home shredding.

Works as expected. So far, so good. What I particularly like about this is the lift off head. My old shredder (which still works) has a pull out basket. This makes the cutting head rather hard to access. It would never fully clear out paper. That can't be a problem with this unit.

Shredding stack of PRIVATE documents 5 minutes after opening shipping box. Shreds better than anticipated! Very pleased with this purchase; Price, Delivery, and Function

I've only just received the shredder and tried it out a few times but so far I'm impressed! It does indeed take in eight sheets at a time and cut them into the tiniest of bits, which take up much less space than the strips from my old shredder. I haven't tried shredding continuously for five minutes, but so far I'm sold.

This my daily, Light to medium duty shredder I go through stacks and stacks of paper to shred for about 30 minutes before it automatically stops to prevent overheating.
