Very good and sturdy stands.
I've had and used a lot of different stands in my 69 years and these are better than most. The materials are very good. The supports are heavy iron and the stand is heavy steel with very good welds. The paint is very good too so the person who received a set that was rusty must have been a fluke. (I see his second set was fine.) One thing I really like about these stands is the safety block or pin. It gives the user another level of protection. If, in the unlikely event that the adjustable stop fell out of its slot in the support, the safety pin will stop the stand from collapsing. This could happen if the user accidently banged against the release although that would be difficult when under weight. I see one reviewer gave the stands three stars because they were smaller than she thought. That's unfortunate because she was rating the stands lower due to her own mistake for not reading the product description or Q&A section carefully so keep tht in mind when you look at the overall rating.

God help us all...especially those of us with 22 year old sons
Got 4 of these...must have if you diy with your own cars...very sturdy and well built...the extra locking feature is nice and does not complicate the use in any way...my son works on his car over here so using too many jack stands is mandatory or none of my tools can be used, period!...he is 22 so it will be at least 8 more years before he isnt a total idiot hazardous mostly to himself under common scenarios around the house and car shed...if they sold a hard hat and mouth guard with these as a set i would buy 4 more of these tomorrow and make him wear those just to enter the car shed...he is too lazy to stack wood or blocks under his car to avoid having his head squished like a grape when the floor jack fails...hence my original purchase of 4 jack stands...if i could replace him by shopping on amazon i wouldn't need the jack stands at all...but alas, he truly is one of a kind ...and i, with the assistance of these fine jack stands, must endeavor to keep him alive...even if he forgets to put all of the nuts and large bolts that hold the break pads in place back on after performing a minor repair...god help us all

I am Impressed by the quality
These are fantastic. I've never really needed a pair, but the necessity came up and I borrowed a neighbors. They failed causing me hours of work to get the frame up off the ground enough to brace it until these arrived. The double lock feature is amazing. When you have thousands of pounds of steel resting on something that you are working UNDER; trust is a pretty important factor. If you know the basics of using them; in other words, not on hills or soft ground...DUH; these will give you all the confidence in the world.

Much Safer. Solves one of the biggest failure points for most jack stand designs
I bought two sets of these 3-ton jack stands to replace Harbor Freight Jack stands that were recalled due to actual failures of the ratchet system. The ratchet/pawl system is essentially the same in almost all similarly designed jack stands, and therefore this potential flaw exists in essentially all of these stands that do not incorporate some kind of secondary safety feature. This has always been a concern of mine and I have never been completely comfortable getting under my car when it's on stands as most jack stands are not exactly precision manufactured devices. The saddle/head castings being the most questionable components due to the fact they are typically cast using the most primitive sand-cast methods (not precision cast). The saddle/head portion includes the ratchet teeth, which in concert with the ratchet pawl (primary lock connected to the handle on the body of the stand) supports the weight of your vehicle. These jack stands use cast saddles/heads as well, but I noticed right away the ratchet teeth showed a smoother casting process, and/or the castings are finished with much greater care to ensure the ratchet teeth are consistent and more precise than other jack stands. More importantly, the added pin/lock ensures any sudden weight and/or load shift will not cause a potentially adhered jack stand saddle (the saddle sticking to undercoating on the support point for example) to lift the head high enough to cause a poorly cast ratchet tooth to slip past the pawl/primary lock and collapse. Another common flaw is the cheap painting process almost always results in the pawl and handle sticking in an unlocked position. Again, these stands demonstrate a much higher quality in the coating process, appearing to be powder coated instead of the saddle/ratchet and pawl portions being dipped in what typically would be some kind of enamel or heavy oil-based paint product - which inevitably leads to excess paint and sticking of the ratchet system (most dangerously the pawl/handle) The body of this jack stand is constructed essentially the same as other similar jack stands designs, which is rarely an issue related to safety. The welds are more than sufficient and are of good quality. Most importantly I actually feel comfortable and confident getting under my car when it's on stands now - for the first time in nearly 40 years of working on my own cars. I will never buy a jack stand that doesn't incorporate the safety features used in this stand design. I bought two sets of both the 3 and the 6 ton versions of this stand.

First engine oil change was a success!
I got these for my 2 ton car to learn how to change my oil after watching a whole bunch of YouTube videos (Thanks ChrisFix!) They worked great, just remember to lift and set on both at once evenly, since they are rated for 3 tons together (1.5 each). The pin lock is cool, and makes me feel safe about the ratcheting tooth never slipping since it's doubly secured into place. Make sure to throw a piece of plywood (I used leftover floor laminate) underneath these metal stands, since driveway Asphalt is technically soft and this type of stand might indent and damage the driveway/floor under the weight of a car. Despite anything, make sure to add redundancy, so that your life isn't literally dependent on two little jack stands. Also inspect the welding before using them, and shake the car for stability before going under. Doing all this, I did not die and so I can assure that they did their job and I'm happy!

Safety first
I have a nnumber of 3ton jack stands. This month when i was getting the car on the stands I saw that the pin that is attached to the tongue that supports the extension was broken and that is not a good thing LOL. I bought these because they are much safer than regular jack stands because they have a double locking which if you ever been lying under a car will make you feel much safer. Very good product I bought one set but now will be buying another.

Very Good Jack Stands
I bought some Harbor Freight jack stands a few years ago but they started tilting after so much abuse. Turns out there was a recall for them so returned them but they didn't have any new good ones in stock and they didn't know when they would get some so they gave me a gift card instead. I still needed jack stands so decided to check out amazon. I saw these and they had good reviews so decided to buy them. They're real sturdy and so far no problems. I use them a lot when I'm working on my F-150 and so far hold up really well. I do like the pin lock feature. It's just an added protection incase the teeth on the jack ever disengage. Adjust is also really easy. Just raise up to desired length and done. Obviously the locking pin has to be out for this but once adjusted to desired length just insert locking pin and done. The pin can come out fairly easily so wish it was made tighter so it wouldn't slide out so easily. Other than that, good jack stands. Highly recommend. Time will tell if they last.

Solid, Safe Jack Stand for the Money
I was a little apprehensive based on the weld quality comments. However the welds on my stands (2 sets) appear to be excellent - no voids, no bead gaps, no spatter - clean welds all around. These jacks are sturdy and well made. The main selling point for me was the safety pin. Many opinions out there. The pin actually keeps the ratchet from moving so there is no way to "accidentally" release the riser (I assume this is the patented feature they mention). It does not engage the riser. Other stands have the pin as a safety lock that engages the riser teeth - watch out because some have loose tolerances and barely engage. Lots of stuff on YouTube on this topic. For the money can't go wrong with these ProLifts.

Safe, Solid & Sturdy!
The Pro-Lift 3-Ton Jack Stands have a secondary Pin that won't allow the release bar to disengage without removing it first. This prevents height bar from falling if lever arm or Jack was accidentally hit/knocked/jarred or vehicle moved/settled on the Jack Stand. Unless you physically pull out the pin & then raise/lift up on the lever arm the Stands will stay locked at your selected height. I feel so much more comfortable working underneath my Dodge Ram & have no concerns about the Jack Stands dropping! Extremely well built & really good price. I am very happy! I also purchased Pro-Lifts Stubby (short) 12 Ton Bottle Jack which is small, light & very portable @ a bargain price!
