Best usb switch for gaming keyboard between 2 computers
I tried a few different usb switches for switching my keyboard between my pc and mac (I have two separate mice plugged in tho). The other switches I tried would flicker connectivity in and out sometimes, or not work very quickly. I think they did not like my fancy gaming keyboard. This Sabrent USB switch has worked perfectly since I first plugged it in, with a very gentle blue indicator light and a soft press on an obviously positioned button to switch back and forth with nearly instantaneous recognition on each machine. Definitely recommend.

Small, Simple, Effective
In photos within easy arms reach I have a Laptop, Mini PC, 2 Macs, A Color Inkjet and a Laser Printer,. 3 permanent external Raid/Hard Drive storage Units. Two monitors for three computers. Imac screen is used as target display for Mac Mini using Sabrent to switch usage between the two Macs connected as target display with Thunderbolt cable . Keyboard and mouse can be used for either Mac or Mini PC. Sabrent switch hard to see in Photo just follow the white Mac Keyboard Cable. Switch is simple to set up, two cables out the rear, one to each Mac, keyboard and mouse plug into front of rigedly mounted unit double stickie foam taped to desktop. Sabrent switch works flawlessly with USB 2.0 or 3.0, either or both. can switch from iMac to Mac mini in just a few seconds. Switch is a much more elegant, less expensive and simple solution than trying to wrestle with Bluetooth Keyboard, Trackpad and Mouse; not a problem with one Mac, but with two Macs side by side, mouse ends up being attached to both macs, or neither. Bluetooth is unstable as peripherals won't stay put, either Mac can grab either Magic Mouse or keyboard. My setup is: cheap, generic mouse plugged into one of the Mac keyboard USB ports so the Mac keyboard cable alone will attach both keyboard and mouse. My office set-up is complicated and it has taken a lot of time and trial and error, (wasted time and money), to get it all set up and seamlessly working together. The Sabrent switch was a no-brainer. Just plug it in and it works. iMac is USB 2.0, Mini is USB 3.0; not a problem, it was just plug and play. The only real problem is if You want to set up a mac as target display. What mac will work with the other mac and whether to use a mini-display cable or thunderbolt cable. 27.5 inch display 2008 to 2012, 25.5 inch 2010 -2012. will work as target displays. If both have mini display ports then you can use mini display cable If one or both have a thunderbolt port you must use thunderbolt cable. They look the same, but are different. My Mini has Thunderbolt, iMac is Displayport. It only works with a Mac Store Thunderbolt cable. If you use Mac Bluetooth keyboard Command + F2 will switch Display output, but keyboard won't switch without having to pair it to each computer each time you switch! Sparing you the details - it just doesn't work! As mentioned, Bluetooth with two macs is problematic. Logitech Bluetooth switchable keyboard will switch the Macs but not the display because Command, F2 key used to switch the display does not work as F2 key is dedicated to Bluetooth. Just take my word for it, I found out having wasted a lot of time and money, wired keyboard and mouse with Sabrent hard-wired switch is the way to go. For me, the biggest objection to wired devices is that you end up with a lot of long unused wire hanging all over the place, messy, ugly, gets in the way, gets tangled, etc, etc. I have a picture of the underside of my keyboard, shows how to avoid that. This review is more than just about the sabrent switch, though it tells how nicely it fits into the big picture. I how it answers a lot of questions you might have. Walter O.

2 Computers, 1 display and keyboard
I needed to share a workspace with my wife. We each have a computer, but there's no room for another display and keyboard. So, I purchased this switch - along with an HDMI switch. The setup works great! This switch controls our Logitech wireless controller, and it switches between computers perfectly. The monitors works great too, but that's another story.

An inexpensive solution to a common need
I use this switch to connect my desktop and laptop computers to my Brother laser printer. The installation was simple and the switch works perfectly. I mounted it on a counter top using double sided sticky tape to keep it in place. One of the furnished cables was not long enough for my installation but a longer USB Male-A to Male-B was readily available. USB 2.0 is fast enough for my printer work. No problems and a great price.

Perfect! just what I was looking for.
I have two computers with two screens set up on my desk. In order to save space I just wanted one mouse and one keyboard. Two of these does the job perfect. Pros - Do not need separate power, powered completely by USB no need to plug into outlet.. - Includes two out USB cables. Just plug in the device you want to switch. - Small. Roughly 2.5" X 2.5" -Simple Controls.Simply press a button to switch. - Sources marked. Small blue light marks what source is active. - No setup. Just plug and play. - Great Price. I wasn't expecting the included cables for the price. Great deal. - EASY! No hassle, no head ache. CONS: - Nothing I can think of. I have no idea how you could improve on this product.

Great two port USB switch
Great USB switching hub to switch between different USB devices if you are limited on USB ports. Of course, you could just use a USB port hub; but there are applications where this USB switch is very useful. I recently purchased a color laser printer for my wife's retail business that I thought was a Ethernet networked printer, but in fact, it was not. It was only a USB printer, but it did have wireless print capability. I never use wireless print functionality, so in this application, I needed a wired connection. The color laser printer had both print and scan capability, but the scan function could only be used via USB connection to a host computer. The print functionality could be utilized over a LAN (which was my requirement). So, I used this Sabrent Sharing Switch to connect Port A to an Ethernet USB print server, and Port B to connect to the host computer, and the common port connected to the color laser printer. With this configuration, I can switch to Port A for printing, and switch to Port B to scan. Not the ideal setup; but since the print function will be used more heavily than the scan function, it is an acceptable workaround to full Ethernet print and scan functions.

Very Useful
I bought this switch because I use two computers at work, one PC and one laptop. The laptop has its own keyboard and keypad, but I did not like having to move my keyboard and mouse away to make room for the laptop every time I needed to use it. I decided to get me a keyboard/mouse pair from Microsoft, plugged in the receiver into the switch, and the other two cables went into my PC and the laptop. Now every time I want to switch between PC and laptop with my keyboard/mouse, I just press a button. It is totally convenient and I am very happy with it.

Truly Plug-and-Play
My wife regularly works on two computers. One is her personal large-screen Dell laptop running Windows 7 and the other is a company-owned Windows 10 Surface computer she uses in her job. Since she needs to print from both computers to a USB laser printer, I bought and installed this switch for her. Smaller than the palm of my hand, this switch came with the USB cables to connect this switch to her two computers. There is a button on top of this switch and two LED indicator lights. It's now no longer necessary for her to juggle the printer cable between her two computers. Both computers and her printer immediately recognized this switch and allow her, with the touch of a button, to enable her printer from either computer. This Sabrent USB 2.0 Sharing Switch, which works flawlessly, turned out to be a simple, inexpensive solution, empowering her to instantly toggle her USB printer between her computers at the touch of a button.

I love mine, wish I had known there was a usb 3.0 out there before though lol
I share a monitor, keyboard and mouse between my work laptop and my personal laptop. For me, for what I use this for its worth every dollar. I obviously don't switch the monitor signal with this device but I do run a Corsair k70 and a wireless Logitech M705 off it. I paired it with a 'Anker 4-Port USB 3.0 hub' (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XMD7KPU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). The very first time I hooked up all my peripherals and connected this to my two laptops, both took about 2 minutes to map out the devices on the hub. Ever since then its been perfect. When switching between devices the peripherals are usable within a second or two - super fast IMO. Nice thing is I have two extra ports on the hub that I can use for thumb drives to shuttle files back and forth between the work and personal machines. It also frees up an extra USB port on each laptop. I think its plenty sturdy enough for normal office / workspace use. Especially if you're going to plug it in and leave it in one place. I don't have any complaints about the two usb cables that came with it. The jacks on the main device are holding up well. I'm a fan of dark rooms and as such bright LED's are the enemy. While in use this has a single blue LED lit up that indicates which "side" you are connected to. It's plenty bright to see during the day but not so bright that its annoying while watching movies. Mine sits right below my monitor well within my line of sight and doesn't bug me. I'm connected to this thing 24/7. It never gets hot, nothing weird, not even warm. I've had USB hubs do that in the past. I love love love that I don't have to had an external power supply on this (or the USB hub I pair it will. ) The button gives a nice satisfying click. It's easy to tell if you didn't hit it hard enough without looking at the led's to confirm. That all said there is always room for improvement. If the following things were changed I would pay another $10 for this happily - in no specific order: 1. Braided cables with metal ends - To replace the plasticy cheaper USB cables. 2. Swap the two Type B jacks to Type A - This would be a great usability upgrade. 3. Quality rubber feet 4. IP68 - Most of these will live on desks and people spill stuff. I haven't yet but its a possibility. 5. Move all jacks to the back of the device - If I had to pick a single thing to change on this device <- this would be it. 6. Metal housing

Great for sharing a printer.
This is the neatest gadget for people who have more than one computer or laptop and only 1 printer if they aren't WiFi compatible. My printer is older than my desktop or my laptop, and is not WiFi compatible. but hook this device up to the USB ports for each, and with the simple click of the switch, you can have both hooked up with one cable going to the printer from the device. Think 2 inputs, 1 output. USB 2.0, and Windows PC, or MAC OS X, or LINUX. Think about hooking your MAC and your Windows product up to the same printer at the same time. Or hooking both up to a scanner, camera, or external storage device at the same time. It even comes with 2 printer cables along with the device for very little $$$. I recommend this unit to anyone forced to share a non-WiFi printer, no matter how far your offices are apart in the same building. [You can get 100' USB cables on Amazon]. I have a 50' cable.
