Returned Echo Show 1st gen as it had a screen flickering problem. Forgot to remove the power lead as it looks moulded into the unit. So needed to buy a new one when the repaired old unit was returned. Then shortly afterwards the 2nd gen device arrive. It works in both as well as the voice only echo units.

OEM Replacement

My German Shepherd had a cord snack one day while we were at work..So I purchased this for our Fire TV and it works perfect. Even though it states it in the description, I still think it’s cool it can power both our Echo and Fire TV. I wish the pricing strategy was $15 or so, but oh well.

She's Alive!

I really though I lost her......no pulse no response nothing. Alexa was totally dead. Amazon recommended that a new power adapter might revive her. Chose that one day delivery to get it faster than a hospital and boom she's alive and revived!

Check adaptor before replacing your Echo.

The new adapter restored my Alexa device to operational status. Very glad I pursued replacing the adaptor before upgrading to a new device. Amazon customer support was superb!

Replacements that work perfectly

I had to replace my Amazon Echo and Amazon Show power cords because I have a jerk cat and a bigger jerk rabbit who think it is funny to figure out how to get to the cords, grab them in their teeth, and tug to try and pop me in the face or foot. This of course led to damaged cords and once they were damaged I needed them replaced. Both were the same adapter and when I ordered these I was concerned. Needlessly so it would turn out as they both work perfectly. I've had to move furniture around to protect the new cords but it has been several months and they're doing exactly as they should be. The furry beasts have found other more direct and some subtle ways to try and damage me but the Show and Echo are working while I dodge their murderous intentions.

Keep away from cats

Worked fantastic for about 24 hours. Then my cat got to it AGAIN. No chew spray and protectors don't seem to deter him. Still, it does work. So good review from me. I'll just have to get another and find a way to deter my cat from eating it

If your Echo conks out - try a new power supply first!

A new Amazon Power Adapter was all it took to resurrect our “elder Echo.” Our daughter, in the NAVY was home on leave at the time. She took “elder Echo” into the bedroom with her and liked it so well she took it with her when she returned to base.

I accidently vacuumed my old cord and this was perfect and exactly what it needed for my echo.
