If you like rice, steamed meat and veggies look no further.
If you like steamed vegetables and/or rice for a very reasonable price, this item is for you! And believe me, if you’ve never eaten rice from a legitimate rice cooker you haven’t lived! Provides an efficient way to make a complete meal. The only regret is the size. It’s only big enough for a one person meal when utilizing the steam basket. For instance, a slab of salmon and a veggie will fill the basket, but you can make up to 4 cups of rice simultaneously.

Very nice. Put in water
Very nice. Put in water, and steel cut oats, before going to bed. Turn on when you get up, and you have hot oat meat in 30 minutes.

Steel Cut Oatmeal and Milk, Yes
This cooks steel cut oatmeal with milk faster than any other device. It doesn’t boil over or require a lot of scrubbing. The plastic gasket that prevents boiling over has been holding up well. In short, it works exactly as advertised. I just wish they made a quart-sized cooker. This is exactly one pint and no more, so four ounces of oatmeal and twelve of milk and water. That makes it essentially a single-serving device. But it really does that well.

Super Mini
This thing is great: rice, grits, oatmeal...such mindless fun. Save yourself lots of time by using boiling water at the start! Love it so much, I gave it googly eyes. This is better than the honking big fuzzy logic rice cooker at 300 times the price.

Delicious Rice and Easy to Use!
Ive had this for 2 months and it works great! I'm thrilled with the moist rice and it makes wonderful oatmeal and steamed veggies! There is room for improvement in that the "beep" is so quiet that sometimes I don't hear it and the veggies get overcooked. I just set my own timer so I can take the veggies out in time. Also, it is so awesome that I can cook the veggies OVER THE RICE and hit two birds with one stone, however, the cooking time is inconsistent for the veggies when I cook them over the rice, so I usually try to make the veggies by themselves in the steamer setting. All in all, it's the best rice maker I've ever owned, and though the special side-features might not be as simple/effective as they could be, I bought it to make rice and it does a PERFECT job at that, the side features are a great plus for a great price!

Reduce Water to Make Perfect Cream of Wheat
This HAMILTON BEACH OATMEAL MAKER (25502, White) makes perfect Cream of Wheat (using ⅓ cup plus 1½ cups water) without burning it. The secret, I think, is that the appliance turns OFF when it’s done. My Hamilton Beach Rice & Cereal Cooker, which I love, does a decent job with Cream of Wheat, but it requires stirring part way through, and always toasts the bottom layer just a little, especially when it holds the cereal on Warm. Cream of Wheat is particularly hard to cook, because it boils over easily in the microwave or in a saucepan on the stovetop. What I wanted was a hot cereal cooker that wouldn’t require stirring or supervision for Cream of Wheat. This Oatmeal Maker effortlessly cooks the cereal to the right consistency, and even allows the cooked cereal to stand for a while after cooking is done. IMPORTANT NOTE: I found it necessary to reduce the water by half a cup or more from the “recipes” that come with the Oatmeal Maker. For perfect Cream of Wheat, I use ⅓ cup cereal and 1½ cup water. IMPORTANT NOTE: Be sure that the handle holds both sides of the lid down when you swivel the handle to start the cooking. It’s possible to close the cooker without securing the lid on both sides, and then it won’t cook properly. (See the first of my three photos; the third shows the correct closing.) The only thing that I don’t like about this cooker, is that the cooking pot insert gets really hot and has a thin rolled lip that is hard to grip when you’re removing the cooked cereal. However, it’s only slightly harder to remove than the cook pots in my other rice cookers (Hamilton Beach and Panasonic). Be sure to use a hot pad or wear something to protect your fingers when removing the insert. The nonstick cooking pot insert is dishwasher safe and easy to clean with handwashing. The lid is easy to take apart for cleaning and requires only occasional cleaning.

Awesome little cooker!
My new favorite appliance. I love oatmeal from steel cut oats, but due to some physical limitations, I can’t stand and stir a pot of it for 25-30 minutes. Of coarse trying it in the microwave in the largest bowl I own results in a boiled over/under cooked mess. I thought I was doomed to cold cereal until I found this little gem. I soak a 1/2 cup of steel cut oats and 1 1/2 cups of water in the appliance overnight, then plug it in while I shower and dress. Add fresh blueberries and almond milk for an awesome breakfast that sticks with you for hours.

Great for Oatmeal
I own 3 rice cookers, all but one fail miserably at making decent oatmeal (w/o the foamy mess), and these are super high-end also. Cuckoo and Zojirushi. I like my oatmeal (which I buy from Minnesota "Natural Way Mills") meaty with a bite similar to tapioca. So, I am very happy with this little machine. Personally I like 1-¼ cup water and ½ cup steel cut oats along with a tablespoon of brown sugar. Perfect! Can't say enough nice things.

Compact and cooks rice a lot better than others
I have used cheaper rice cookers which cooked a lot faster but the quality of rice cooked wasn't the best. I am pleasantly impressed by the quality of cooking. I eat mostly Basmati Rice so unfortunately you can only cook 2 1/2 cups of Basmati using this rice cooker. The rice cooker takes little bit longer when cooking Basmati and end product is as good as cooking in a pot without having to check continuously. This cooker is ideal for two people if you are having mostly rice with your meals.

Very ideal for the office
I rarely do these, but I’m so happy with this one that I needed to share. I work in an office setting and have been trying to make steel cut oatmeal for quite awhile without mess and overflow in the microwave. It’s a huge problem. I looked for microwaveable bowls on here and they suggested this oatmeal maker. I love it already! It’s super easy: add oats, water, put on the lid, flip the handle to lock it, press a button. The steel cut oats take about 15 min or so. There are some low clicks that come from the machine when cooking, but still low enough sound that isn’t hardly noticeable. I used the recommended 1/4 oats with 3/4 water, and as you can see on my second photo, they came out great, although I like mine a little more runny, so if you like you’re like mine, I’d play around with the water amount. All in all, it’s easy-peasy and quite ideal for an office setting (I made mine right in my office on my desk).
