Well made and provides good magnification

I really like this magnifying class. It's pretty solid for a plastic based product. The light is bright and the button is a click-on/click-off type so you don't have to keep pressing it to keep the light on. The main 3X lens provides ample magnification for most activities and the smaller built-in 45X lens provides a lot of magnification when needed. One negative is that you must hold the magnifier very close to what you are looking at when using the small 45X lens but I believe that would be true for any high powered lens. I saw a complaint in another review about things being upside down when using the 45X lens but that only occurs if you are holding the magnifier too far away for what you are looking at.

It works great

Got 2 of these, one for an elderly friend whose eyesight is dimming and one for my husband whose in his mid 70's and the fine print is now elusive. This magnifying glass is perfect because of the extra light. The handle is perfect for a smaller arthritic hand to hold as well as for a larger arthritic hand too. Okay sure, it's a magnifying glass, is it really necessary to review such an ancient item? Yes, the light makes the difference. It works, it's small enough for a purse, it's bright enough. Great for dim restaurants with small print menus. Great for reading ingredients on packages at the grocery store. That sort of thing......

whether I just have aging eyes and/or need new glasses, I find i'm reaching for this magnifier more and more. I like the light, although I wish it didn't come on so easily, as my cat can push it on as well as another item in my small metal box that holds a number of items). As with any magnifier, you have to experiment with moving it forward and back between your eyes and the object to find the best reading distance. Seems solidly built, easy to hold. A good purchase.
