This replaces a 3-amp model that I had that lasted a decade. I like the 3-color lamp system, nice improvement. If I were to buy another one, I would go back to the 3-amp. While it is better for the battery to have the slower charge rate, the 3-amp never seemed to cause harm, and being faster is nice (but if you tend to keep the 1.5-amp plugged in overnight then it really does not matter. I am glad I am able to use the lighter plug from my older model with this one, that is very handy on my car that is able to use that. ps: customer service at Schumacher is outstanding. I would not consider any other company for a battery maintainer.

Easy to set up and use

I easily put this into service for a small 12V depth-finder battery and it seems to do a good job of charging and then maintaining the charge on the device. I like the light that increases and reduces brightness when in the "maintain" mode, which is different from the light when the unit is charging the battery.

Works like stated. Smaller than I expected, Which is actually very convenient. I give it 5 stars because it is well constructed, I've used it several times to charge a couple car/truck batteries and one ATV battery. Well made, Very happy with product at this point.

Fully Automatic Battery Maintaining Charger

I own multiple Schumacher brand maintaining battery chargers. They sell many different models of the 1.5 amp chargers but they all function basically the same. I especially like the set it and forget it design. There are no buttons or switches, you simply connect to the battery and plug it in. They have versatile options for quick connections and the cords are fairly long and they also sell an even longer extension for the power connection if you need it. The small size and light weight works great for wall mounting the charger and quick connection to the battery. These work very well for any type of battery that isn't used on a daily basis. You can leave these continuously hooked up with no risk of over charging. This is a very cost effective option to keep your battery charged up and ready to go.

Great for a healthy car battery

I have a vehicle in partial storage. I use the vehicle only once every couple of weeks, and just to get the fluids moving for lube purposes. This maintainer is perfect for this. I use the accessory that is attached to the battery posts so I can easily disconnect it by using the inline connector, take my vehicle for a spin, return, and reconnect the inline plug in seconds.

A great purchase.

Working great as expected. I have a Schumacher charger that is at least 25 years old and it still works. I needed this to maintain my old Chevy S10 pickup that sits all winter. You cant go wrong with Schumacher products.

Great Product, Fair Cost

Simple design,works and I have 5 of them hooked up on a car, seadoo’s and Harley’s. Never had an issue good product for the price and much more robust than the small ones I tried in the past. I.e Harley’s

Have several of these chargers. Some in constant use for a couple of years. Well worth the money.
