Could be better if....
I like the way it looks and color, so I bought 5 of them to try out. I soak, germinate and grow all in one unit. When changing water, I lift the white basket and move it to another green container (spare). I can grow Asian water basil (kangkung), mung bean sprout with no medium at all. I had to use a burlap pad to grow microgreens since the whole of the basket is larger. Wishlist. 1. To the manufacturer, please makes a smaller hole (white basket) version so that grower can switch between sizes. 2. Please make a bigger size of the whole thing, such as 10x20 or wider so that grower has more yield but only need to maintain one tray vs. several trays.

Invalueable for growing fresh sprouts.
These are great. I’ll never try to sprout larger seeds or wheatgrass in the black seed starter trays again. These work better and give a better amount for three people and a small flock of chickens. You have to rinse twice a day and rinse out the green tray as well. If you so that it grows flawless sprouts really fast. The cover is perfect to keep the humidity up and gnats out. Haven’t had much luck with mung beans though. Probably my fault. I have tried growing them three ways and they roots always brown out and they start to stink like garbage, even in this tray. Also it’s not for tiny seeds. The holes are about half the size of a soaked wheatgrass bean. Salad sprouts work better in a jar.

Great sprouter! Easy to use!
Very easy to use and very efficient in draining the water. I had mung bean sprouts in 4 days! Recommended buy!

Buying another one!!!
I used this for pea sprouts. I soaked for about 12 hours in the tray. I would first measure out how many will fit in the tray without overlapping before soaking because I initially ended up with too many. Then rinsed and spread them out in the white sprouting tray. I put a very very minimal amount of water in the green tray. Barely covering the bottom. You don't want things soaking in water because they will rot. Then I sprayed 3-5x daily. Once they get about an inch you can take the clear lid off. They sprouted great on my counter in indirect sunlight. They turned green this way without having to place them directly in the sun

Works great for medium to large seeds
This tray is perfect for medium to large seeds. I've been growing many batches of Pea Sprouting seeds in it for the past year. Beware not to put too many seeds to soak as they will expand and then the seeds won't have enough space for the roots to find their way through the holes to reach the water in the bottom tray. My recommendation is to put about 70% of the surface of the green tray of dry seeds to soak in water for two-three days until you see the sprouts emerging, then lay the seeds in one flat layer on the white tray with the holes. Spray the seeds on top for the first few days to keep them moist while their roots will find their way through the holes (you might have to guide a few if your seeds are tight). Keep the lid of during the day and on at night to keep moisture. Once the seeds have a stem and a few leaves you can keep the lid off and make sure to keep some water in the bottom tray. It takes about 2 weeks for me to have a batch ready to use in a salad or as a garnish for a sandwich. Well worth the effort and a lot of fun !

Worked great. Used with https
Worked great. Used with https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075D4W7JX/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1 1) Soaked seeds for 10 hours 2) layered them on the tray (i had soaked way too many, so they were in there pretty thick). I didnt dry them so they clumped together a bit. 3) 3 times a day (breakfast lunch and before bed), I did this a) lifted the trey out. b) dumped the water and swished clean water in the tray c) put about 1/4 inch of water in the bottom (didnt look like enough, but it worked this way) d) put the tray back in e) spray bottle misted the seeds/plants (about 10 squirts) Worked great. Had pretty tall plants in about 7 days PS: I never put in the sun. Just kept it in my kitchen which has barely any natural light. PPS: Mine never smelled bad, probably because I changed the water 3 times a day :)

Great little wheat grass kit
This kit is dandy for growing wheat grass indoors. As the description states, the holes in the bottom of the growing tray are a bit large for the seed, so we just picked up a piece of that "plastic canvas" from the craft store, and cut it to fit in the bottom. The holes are small enough to keep the seed from falling through. The seed sprouted when we followed the directions, and once the grass was cut, the roots were easy to remove from the grid on the bottom of the tray. Clean up is quick and easy, and we are now sprouting our second "crop". The juice is delicious, and we know we are doing something very healthy for ourselves. Great product. Thanks.

Finally mold free wheatgrass!
I bought this for wheatgrass..if you've ever grown wheatgrass you know the issue you have with mold..I was hoping to use this to soak the seeds as well but the holes are too big and some wheatberry seeds fell through but most just stuck in the holes and had to be pulled out ruining a good amount of them..so I soak and rinse the seeds in a jar with mesh over top and once the seeds have sprouted tails I line the white strainer tray with chemical free coffee filters (thicker and sturdier than paper towels) and completely cover the holes then use distilled water(so as not to introduce bacteria to prevent mold since I'll be using the lid) in a spray bottle and thoroughly wet the coffee filters and spread the seeds on top..no soil or substrate to cut down on mold..I then put the lid on and cover it with a dark towel and spray it daily until it takes root and the short, white grass blades just start to show..I then put it under my sky light and no longer use the lid..I remove the white tray with holes and use my sink sprayer or shower head ( for stronger water pressure) to completely soak the grass..this helps to rinse away any mold spores..I then let it drain well and return to green tray under sky light..I never let water sit inside the tray..I do this 1-2 times daily and viola finally wheatgrass without mold!

Awesome way to grow grass
For the last few years it seems that dirt has come with little bugs . After 2 weeks they seem to pop out of the soil.. So I was looking for a totally dirt free way to grow grass.I had to learn to only put a single layer of seed. The First time I put too much seed and the seeds smelled to high heaven. So I started it again with a a single layer. So much better. My cat loves it and actually gets into the grass . I do clean the water basin part daily and rinse the roots too. They tend to get a little smelly. I would buy it again. This one is big enough for at least 2 cats. I only have one cat. Since she is an indoor cat it is nice to bring her grass inside that she can get in and rub it.

I love this tray!
I love this tray so much I have now bought my second one! It is perfect for growing my personal wheatgrass. I’ve started growing sunflower sprouts as well. I highly recommend!!
