Watch out ticks!
Our favorite wilderness area has areas overrun with ticks. For some reason, they adore one of our dogs and ignore the other. I inspect His Tastiness thoroughly after each hike and am pretty good at spotting ticks before or right after they bite him, but when they are very small they can be quite difficult to pull out. These tweezers are fantastic! I haven't used the pulling tool yet, but the quality and ergonomics of both tools is commendable. Great product!

Well made and easy to use
As a Lyme-literate physician, I remove ticks from patients (and my own family) often. Up until now I've used a "tick spoon" and, if needed, fine tweezers. I've certainly had my share of failures with this method. This Removal Kit appears to be very well-made, with nicely machined surfaces, high quality steel, and thoughtful design. Thank you for an excellent product!

Quality tick removal
These are heavy duty, quality tick removers. I like that there are two options for removing the tick - special tweezers and a type of simple scooper. We have several different tick removers in our house since we live in rural NJ where lyme runs rampant. This will be my new go-to remover when we find a tick on one of us at home. AND the great added bonus is that you can place your tick in a plastic bag, visit the associated website, and mail the tick to them to test for various diseases. The product comes in a nice case and includes a helpful tick identification card. *I received this at no cost in exchange for a review but I stand behind this completely. These are excellent tools!

Glad to support Lyme Disease Research The boy scouts teach you that you should always be prepared especially when you are out in the wilds. That is because you never know what types of critters you may come across whether it is big like a cougar or small like a tick. Ticks are nuisance at best and disease carrying blood suckers at worst. Also removing a tick can be tricky because you do not want to accidentally rip off the body while leaving the head under the skin. That is why having the right tools is important. Tickcheck comes with tweezers and prongs and nifty carrying pouch. The material is tough enough to be tossed into any camping bag until you actually need it, I always get nervous about plastics tools since they may crack or break when you need them. The bonus tick identification card which shows the proper technique to remove the ticks is a nice touch, just in case we freak out when we get bit and forget all of our training. The only thing I wish were modified would be for the card to fit inside the carrying pouch, and perhaps have a small plastic bag slot to place the ticks inside of in case of a bite. Neither of these issues takes away from the quality of the product, and I feel much more comfortable with it on me. Money well spent. PS Tickcheck will even ID the tick for you for FREE which is good to know

Nice quality, and they work
There are cheaper alternatives out there, but these looked to be of better quality. On review, both tools appear to be made of good stainless steel, and nicely finished (no sharp or rough edges, except of course the tweezers' points). The knurled plastic coating on the tick puller is grippy enough to give you good control. There's none of that on the handles of the tweezers, but they're flat, you don't need it. We've had a mild winter, and wet spring, so lots of ticks in both western and eastern WA, earlier than usual. Walking and working in the woods, or on our off-grid place, we just can't avoid the brush and grasses where they lay in wait. My wife and I have already found several ticks on ourselves, and several dozen on our lab, Hannah. We check during and after every outing, and find most of them before they've had a chance to dig in...but a few have escaped notice long enough to draw a little blood from poor Hannah. I've given her a Bravecto tablet, and it does drive them off her, but it seems like it can take a couple of hours for the ticks to recognize the poison and get lost...and when they jump ship, they sometimes wind up in the house or cabin, to munch on us later. At first I was disappointed that the slit in the tick puller didn't fine-down enough to grip onto the small ticks...then I read the instructions, realized I should have been using the tweezers. They work great on the tiny nymphs. Just do as the instructions say, pull straight up, slow and easy. We've been careful, and haven't snapped off a tick's head yet. The small plastic ("leatherette") case fits easily in my shirt pocket, so we take the kit with us when we go outdoors -- we can be gone for hours, and don't want to give the critters a chance to bury-in. The case seems sturdy enough to last a good while. If it wears out, I'll put the tools into an old aluminum cigar holder. You need some kind of holder, the tools are so small they'll get lost if carried loose. I wasn't real sure we'd get a lot of use out of these, but it looks like we will. Glad I bought them.

Safe tick remover
After going on a weekend camping trip, I came home to realizing I had over 3 ticks embedded. The remover worked safely and insured that I did not leave the ticks head under my skin. I went ahead and sent the ticks in to get tested to the same company (tickcheck), and they responded in less than 2 days. Luckily no lymes or any other diseases.

Well crafted; both Tools work well; and pouch good quality storage
Used the spatula-lookiing, tick removal tool the day I received the Kit. Had a Dog Tick on the inside of my thigh which had just attached. Had never used a tool like this but it took the tick off whole just by sliding it under the tick, starting from the rear of the tick. Very slick. Have used the fine, curved tweezers several times (unfortunately) on both of our cats. The curve helps get the whole tick even when the cat isn't co-operating as much as you would like. Well made, sturdy, and the weight is just right. Keep it in our medical bug-out kit. Order Ben's 100 which came the same day. Now looking for a proactive product to use outside to get rid of the ticks in the yard

Hands-off tick removal works for me
I lost my curved forceps that I'd been using for tick removal, and I liked the case as well as the second option using the wedge. It's small enough to tuck into a bag and be unobtrusive until I need it. My only complaint is that the included information card doesn't fit with the case for reference on the fly. It's wallet-sized, so I guess I can store it in my wallet, but I'd really have liked to have it together somehow. I don't have to remove ticks that often, but I definitely want this around for when I do.

This kit will do the job.
Best $11 I ever spend on tweezers. My kid had a tick behind his ear. We used regular tweezers. Nothing worked. We ended pulling the body off but the head stayed. We needed a proper tick remover tool. Did some research and decided to order this kit. It was what we needed. It works. Both tools are well made and sturdy. Used the tweezers and took the head of that stubborn tick off in one try. Can’t say enough good things about this kit.

Worth it
I go hiking quite often and always seem find a blood sucking tick somewhere on me despite my best efforts. This year has been especially warm and has kept the ticks active into the winter. I was looking into the twister removers but I heard that those leave the head of the tick in which is a good way to get an infection. These are a solid steel and have already seen use. My dog had a deer tick below her collar and I easily removed that nasty bug with the tweazers. Don't worry, I was careful not to squeeze the tick or jerk it around. Pretty simple deal and would recommend this is any outdoorsy people or dog owners.
