Game changer
I have a massive 6’ Boos prep table at home as my kitchen island. I have always used paper towels to apply my oil and cream. This applicator does an awesome job of spreading the product with no waste. I’m getting 4x the amount of use out of my jars of product.

This is a must buy if you have a butcher block counter top
we just had John Boos butcher block counter tops installed. I've been oiling them quite a bit as they are new and are soaking up quite a bit. The first few times I used a rag or paper towel and it seemed like most was not getting on the wood but rather soaking up in the rag/paper towel. Additionally, it seemed like there was not much oil left on the wood to soak up over night per directions. This applicator arrived today and so I decided to give it a whirl. First, I used so much less oil. Second, it was so much easier/quicker to apply. Third, a nice layer of oil is visible on the countertop so I know it will soak up over night and I can wipe off excess in the a.m. Prior to using the applicator, it really didn't seem like there was anything on the counter to get soaked up. I can't recommend this enough. I know some say it's pricey, but I know I'll recoup that in needing to buy less oil. I plan to re-oil my new countertops quite often and with this, it will be really simple and get much better results.

No more waisted oil / conditioner.
This is a great way to apply oils to your cutting board. If you use a cloth like I did at first, it gets the job done but you waist oils being soaked into the cloth. This applicator is more effective of oiling the cutting board.

Must have. Not a luxury. So practical.
Yep. And so convenient. The black cup protects the sponge when not in use. Keeps right on the countertop near the cutting board. Get this. You'll be glad you did. So practical and easy to use with the BOOS Mystery Oil and Cream products that you need to purchase separately. Best system by far for the care and cleanliness of my cutting board.

Does the job, a great tool to go with your John Boos products
This did exactly what I purchased it to do - it applied my John Boos oils and creams onto the boards easily and evenly. I like that it comes with a cap so that I can store it without worrying about getting residual oil anywhere.

Easy to hang onto
I used this today, and it made the task so much easier. Previously, I had to use a lot of pressure to rub the oil and the wax into the countertop. With this tool ... it was done with half the effort. The tool is easy to hang onto, and that says something when you're working with oil and waxy paste ... they are slippery by nature. Great purchase. I recommend it highly.

Highly Recommend!
How did I ever live without this? I was using paper towels which absorbed a lot of the oil. I tried using pieces of cut up dish clothes but my hands got greasy. This thing really works, my hands are clean and I can go over the board every night after washing and drying it.

Make Oiling Your Block Simple
I purchased a really nice maple cutting board and was advised to oil it regularly. I try to take care of and appreciate items so I am not wasteful. I came across when purchasing mineral oil this sponge and it just seemed like a good idea. I have used it a few times and it really makes it quick and easy. No mess. I think it helps the oil to penetrate quicker too :)

Pricey, but worth it.
I purchased this to apply can John Boos Mystery Oil and the Board Cream to my new board. This made application of both products simple and uniform. Yes, it seems like a pricey extra but it's worth it to keep your high-quality John Boos board in good nick.
