DVD works well
First day review - DVD drive works fine without any glitch. Windows 10 had no problem detecting and playing a dvd video. Yet to try cd and DVD buring options. Build quality is also OK for the price. There is two cable provided. Looks like one is for data and other for power. I had now problem getting it to work only with the data cable. May be while doing Write operation, its better to use both cables.

Plug and play - no drivers needed
What I love about this inexpensive CD/DVD burner is that you can just plug it into any windows based device and it's instantly ready for use. Used on HP windows 10 tablet. CDs write up to 32X and DVDs write at a max of 8x. Copying data from optical discs to PC is generally not a fast process so the USB 3.0 helps here. Nice rugged design, I just toss it into my bag and I'm off. Great portable burner.

Plug and play perfection
No set up required, no additional adapters, no problems scanning disk. No issues whatsoever. This is the 5th portable drive I've bought to date and seems to be the best in terms of quality. So far, it's the one I'm most satisfied with

as most people know the new MacBooks do not have a DVD drive or a CD drive so I hook this into there and the instructions in the package was for Windows but because my computer is so well built my iOS on MacBook was able to pick this device up instantly connect it I use the CD it downloaded it right into my device folder and it works perfectly I am impressed

Works great!
Works great...have used it to read CDs and DVDs and burn DVDs. Great price to bring back a legacy drive and do something with that stack of DVDs you have in the garage you never finished using before DVD drives stopped coming in pretty much all new computers in the last 5 years.

Works, which is the only criteria I care about ...
Works, which is the only criteria I care about. Makes a lot of noise, but I think that is normal as it brought back memories. Without a case to catch some of the noise, it is very loud.

Works like a charm
Works like a charm. I bought this since my Macbook doesn't have a CD/DVD drive. I plugged it in, placed a DVD in it and it just popped up right away. Didn't have to install any apps or anything. I've also been able to burn DVDs and so far no problems!

Satisfied so far!
This DVD drive appears to work as expected, at least for reading the DVDs. I recently had a DVD that didn't play on my older DVD player connected to my TV, and I used this external DVD drive attached to my MacBook Pro, and the software DVD player on it played the DVD as expected. Since it takes two USB ports, it is rather inconvenient with a MacBook Pro that has one USB port on one end, but if you use a USB hub, that's not much of a problem. I haven't written anything to a blank DVD yet, but I will report out when I get a chance.

5/5
Bought because I needed to actually write a backup recovery disk for an old computer and my MBA didn't have a DVD drive. This did the job and worked as you'd expect :)!
