What a fantastic gadget. It has great up close zoom in ...
What a fantastic gadget. It has great up close zoom in power. I wouldn’t use it for trying to see someone on the Hollywood sign from town.... but I would use it bird watching. It is however a little obnoxious only looking out of one eye, I am not a pirate. But I received this free for my honest opinion and I think it’s a great little piece for the money.

Great optic for the price
Worth the price of admission, very good optic for the price, and works just as good or better than its competitors. Having the adjuster under the index finger is awesome, very quickly adjust focus. The glass is decent, for the price the quality is good.would recommend to anyone who needs an monocular.

An excellent value for a quality product!
While monoculars are not for everyone, these Occer 10X42’s are tremendously competitive against their more expensive, ‘brand’ name competitors. With superbly crisp and clear optics – stemming in part from their BAK4 prisms, rather than the more common and cheaper BAK7 competitors - quality design, materials and construction, the Occer 10X42 monocular was one of my better purchases. Optical devices, monoculars and binoculars, are not tools you use every day, but when you use them you rely upon consistent quality and convenience. With these, not only do you get the case and lanyard, but standard features include lens caps – one permanently strapped to the forward lens – and particularly notable is the ‘universal’ tripod mount, making them particularly useful in spotting on a KD range or traversing when your subject is moving. An additional ‘real’ feature is that they also can, with an optional device, be used in conjunction with a smartphone, capturing neat close-up pictures beyond the phone’s zoom capability. Too, I find these more helpful on my boat in checking who is fishing where and what they are catching on our 250 acre lake. While virtually all optical devices are only as steady as the hand holding them, I find I can easily and clearly read license plates at over 100 yards. At first a little confusing (In part because their literature hasn’t yet been refined and targeted to the US market) was the focusing procedure – besides having the top mounted rotary knob for adjusting for distance, these have ‘two’ rotary focus eyepiece rings. But, be not afraid, with a little practice they perform well and conveniently. The only drawback for me is in watching our turkey vultures, soaring beautifully like eagles, who, close-up, are truly ugly birds. Would I buy them again? You bet!

One-hand use and focus are great
I live on a large lake in South Carolina, and often meet friends at the many islands for beach-ups. This monocular has proven to be very effective in finding the numbers of the islands at a considerable distance. I also use it in the evening, along with a spotlight, to navigate the waters. My favorite feature is the one-handed use and focus. I have binoculars, but they are difficult to unpack and hold while driving. An unexpected bonus was the pouch that was packed with the monocular. I read that while the one eyepiece cover is not attached, I can put that cover in the pouch, and I'm confident I'll hold onto it. This is my first Occer product, and I am pleased and impressed.

Inexpensive yet gets the job done
I have several sets of binoculars and they are getting harder and harder to use. My vision is deteriorating in one eye only making all binoculars hard to focus (they always look blurry because the eyes are different). This 'Monocular' solves that issue for me. I can adjust it to make either eye see clearly. It has eyepiece covers for both ends, a wrist strap to carry it and a case to keep it in. It is coated in a rubbery material that makes it easy to grip. The focus wheel is on the top and simple to use with your finger while looking through the glass. The image is very sharp - I'm very pleased with this purchase, especially considering it doesn't 'break the bank'.

EASY to use and great clear images.
I bought each of my 4 grandchildren one of these (ages 3-17) and even the 3 year old can focus it. They all loved them and I bought myself one and also love it. So easy to focus compared to binoculars or the 3 other type monoculars I have. And focuses so quickly too. A friend used mine at the beach and is ordering one for her daughter. Today I bought 3 more, one to share with friends so I don't have to keep handing them mine and being without while they are enjoying the views and the other 2 for future gifts. So easy to pack for travel due to their size and light weight. I definitely recommend these for young and old. I have a butterfly garden and bird feeders and they come in so handy to view them.

but I purchased this Occer 10x42 optic for a friend who can only see good out of one eye
I had never owned a monocular, but I purchased this Occer 10x42 optic for a friend who can only see good out of one eye. He received it as a birthday gift and was very excited to have this monocular rather than a pair of binoculars for hiking, scenic beauty and bird watching. I was impressed by the clarity of these optics as is he.

Outstanding value
I was a little hesitant to order this product. A 10X42 Monocular for under $20..00 I had second thoughts. I did however order the product and I was very surprised of the quality and clarity of this "mini telescope." Once you get use to adjusting your eye to the view it is very easy to use. Why do I say this, if your eye is too close or to far from the eyes piece all you see is black. With a few adjustments this issue is resolved. Instructions very basic not much info...only to moveable parts focus knob on top of the monocular and the eye piece adjustment you must adjust the two to get rid of the black view. Absolutely a great value for $20.00. I am a stargazer and just to have something small and easy to spot something quickly in the night sky has enhanced my stargazing experience. I also got it to use when I hear something at night or if my neighbor's dog is barking (a very good dog by the way, only barks when he see's someone) looking out the window at night your eyes can play tricks on you, "is there someone by that car or is someone moving in the shadows", with this monocular you can easily see what is going on at night.

Easy to use & focus in 1 hand, sharp image, nice price point
Received my monocular today along with another order in 1 box. The box the monocular was a little beat up, but not damage to the monocular. This comes with a carrying case with a belt loop, a strap that connects to the tripod screw, a small cleaning cloth & 2 dust covers. The front dust cover flips down & stays attached. The rear one is loose but you can loop the strap through it to keep with the monocular. I guess this cord could also be used as a carrying strap. In using this today to check it out I am finding the optics to be sharp when in focus. The focus wheel turns easily and smooth with one finger, not tight at all. The rear of the monocular can also be moved back about 1/2 of an inch as may be needed for glasses. There is also a screw in the bottom so you can attach to a tripod. Will be using on a tripod later this year to try this as a spotting scope when we go target shooting. In one of my photos taken with a cell phone through the monocular, I am looking at a mailbox about 80 yards away. The photo may not show it but I can see the house #'s on the post quite clearly and the field of view is better then my cell phone photo shows. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. The only "con" I can think of would be the instructions in English (not that you really need them). If you are looking for a good & relatively cheap monocular, look no further.

Great product!
This monocular is really handy. I've used it at concerts and when I take my kids to the wetlands to check out all the animals. They work quite well with a pretty clear view. I found these easier to see through with my glasses on that my compact binoculars. Good buy!
