It’s Easy To Install, Bright And Priced Right

This is a great addition to the Vulcans with no indicator. Kawasaki has a few ports reserved on the bike for accessories (I believe 4). The one I used is under the seat. On the European models, this is where the restriction is, so you’d probably want to put it here too. I mounted it on the left side of the tach housing, putting the tape on the right side of the indicator. I ran the cable along the bottom of the gas tank where other cables were and back to the connector under the seat. I didn’t need to remove anything to install it other than the seat to access the connector. I was surprised how bright it is - very easy to read in the daytime. It reads the bike’s ECU, so there’s a small delay before it changes to your current gear. It will do so after you begin releasing the clutch. If you downshift several gears while keeping the clutch in until you come to a stop, it will display whatever gear you were in when you started downshifting, not 1st. When you release the clutch to start moving, it will then display 1. Neutral reads 0. Considering the ease of installation and the price this is selling for, I’d definitely recommend getting one. Most times I’m aware of what gear I’m in, but sometimes lose track, so that’s when this is handy. Also, sometimes I take off in 2nd gear. On the Vulcan, if you’re at a stop in 1st gear, you can’t shift to 2nd, only neutral, so I have to stop at 2nd gear when downshifting and stopping. That’s when this indicator will be helpful. Would buy again.

It just works!!!... ('14 Ninja 650)

What a sweet Lil gadget this is. I got a 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 650 and I simply plugged in, ran the wire and stuck it on my dash. No programming, no learning. It just worked. Yea there's a tiny lag. But it's not bad at all. And yes, the clutch needs to be engaged to recognize the gear. But if youre coming down to first, you know where first is I mean come on. Love this thing!!!!!!

Lifesaver for riding!

I’m a new motorcycle owner, so this is a lifesaver for me while riding. Works great on my 2017 Ninja 300 and was easy to install myself. I did have to remove the seat and some of the fairings to run the wire along the frame, but it wasn’t too difficult.

This little guy was a great addition to my versys 650. Simple plug and play, took a few minutes to install. While riding it is accurate and works great. No issues months and miles later. Worth it if you don't have a gear indicator.

A must have, especially for new riders

Great Gear Indicator.

Works great, you have to be riding and go through each gear so the computer can learn it. Just note, if you down shift quickly, it won't read the correct gear you're in until after you're in neutral or start riding again. For example, if you are in 6th gear and down shift to 2nd to slow down for a stop, it may still say 6th gear. Not a big deal. Still a great indicator for the price. I installed it on a 2015 Kawasaki Vulcan S!

This product is perfect. I went from a 4 speed to a 6 speed motorcycle and this keeps me from trying to shift up when already in 6. And helps with down shifting also. Love this! Had to add my own tape, the one that came with it didn't stick well.

Very easy to install

It works fairly well, It works exactly as it's described. Very easy to install, like ridiculously easy. I will only show the gear your in while the clutch is let out. I installed it on my wife's bike so she could easily look to see what gear she was in. It will say you are in a random gear while down shifting holding in the clutch. to have it show the correct gear just let out on the clutch a bit and then it will read the right gear again.
