Love this case! I like that you can position the dividers to suit your organization methods. The beginners collection of blocks has a nice variety. The only thing that I don't like is that the clasping handles pop off very easily instead of hinging correctly

As a 30 something parent of two, who grew up with Lego as a quintessential part of their childhood, this kit is a must have. It was the perfect first exposure to our kids to the world of Lego. I think what is most important and essential to this type of kit is that it instills the creativity that is possible with Lego right from the start. Using Lego to trigger creativity and imagination is very easily done with a large set such as this, which shows your children from the get go that their imagination rather than instruction is the guide. Sure kids love other sets that are specific to build, whether it be superheroes or city adventures, but nothing can replace the blank canvas that is a Lego Creator base set. Keep in mind, this is just a starter kit, as you won’t be building several houses are vehicles that they might expect, but it just pushes their imagination to the limit. I might’ve liked more vehicle bases and more wheels/windshields so that they were able to make more vehicles, but again this set just pushes creativity to the max and you’ll be astounded at what your kids come up with. Overall, don’t hesitate on purchasing this. Nothing can replace classic Lego brand bricks , And I’m looking forward to countless hours of creative construction ahead!

The kids love legos. They haven't stopped playing with them since they have arrived. The carrying case is nice one you figure out and teach the kids which way it opens (several times opened it wrong and the legos go everywhere). Not fun if any are left behind on the floor.

I had purchased this for a gift for my children. It seemed that those 5 years old and up really loved this. It arrived in a handy carrying case so they can take the legos with them when we go on little trips. It helps to keep the children occupied for hours. The collection has enough pieces in it to create a few small little masterpieces.

I got this for my five year old nephew for christmas, who struggles to put regular sets together. I figured this would give him his lego fix, while allowing him to just play without feeling bad about not putting together a more advanced set. I was right, he gasped when he opened it and screamed, "YEAAAH!" before opening it all excited. That said, please be aware the little clasps that hold the case closed pop off really easily. They can pop back on easy enough, but they're very easy to lose.

I have read many (many) toy reviews on Amazon that explain how such and such toy provided hours of entertainment to the kids playing with said toys. I always wonder how true that is or if my kids just don’t “do” hours and hours of any one toy at a time. Well this LEGO suitcase actually did provide hours of entertainment! Between the various mini builds, the interesting pieces and fun colors, and of course the suitcase itself, this was a great addition to our LEGO collection. The two negative points are minor: the red clasps do have a tendency, as other reviewers have pointed out, to fall off—not a huge deal but definitely noticeable. The second negative is maybe a bit nitpicky: this little briefcase is aimed st ages 4 and up—eg the same age as the LEGO junior sets. And the increasing difficulty of the mini builds in the project book do indeed seem to be aimed at the very newest of LEGO builders—except that the instructions are NOT beginner level. Instead of one step for every brick being added the instructions combine pieces being added into one step. It’s not a problem for master builders in training—IF they have a more experienced builder with them. But if you are trying to foster independence in your little builder and show them how to follow the step by step instructions that are part of much harder LEGO sets, these instructions leave something to be desired. That being said (written), I think it’s s minor enough point that taken together, both negatives would not detract more than half a star from the rating, and since 4.5 stars is not an option then I’ll round up to 5 stars!

Excellent for travel! Took this with us to an out of country trip and it was a lifesaver!! My 4 year old boy played with it nonstop. Loved all the little things we could build with it.

I love that the carrying case it came with. It is very handy for my child to take the lego set out. He is so in love with playing with lego and it keeps his attention for long. I like that it also includes an idea book, so my child can follow the suggestions to build, but at the same time he can be creative to build anything extra.

Excellent Starter Set! This was a gift for a 4 year old that is new to Lego building! She has had Duplos, but she is more than ready to begin her Lego collection! I have used it as a gift before, so I knew it was tried and true! All kids love the carry case! Easy to take to Grandma's house or traveling! Nice way to keep your Lego bricks stored as well. We use it for other purposes, such as sorting by colors and counting bricks. Easy way to add a lesson or two into your day! For under $20, this is an excellent gift with over 200 pieces, detailed instruction manual and nice carrying case. Years ago, Lego did make a carry case with a base plate built in. That would be an excellent addition to this case, but the typical baseplate will not fit without cutting it down and gluing it inside. Yes, I have done that with other cases! So to make this a perfect gift, I sent it along with a Lego baseplate and the Lego 4+ Vet set so that she had a figure and a vehicle! It was nice to see her 4 year old imagination at work, but even better, it was awesome to watch the bond grow between grandparent and grandchild. What a special time they had together after the party. Lego building has now become part of their routine and their special time! It always makes me feel good when I can mold the future of a little one. I know what Legos have done for my own children and even myself. As an adult builder, it's fun no matter what set you build. Freestyle build or a set. The choice is yours. This can be either. As always, Lego brand is trusted for safety and quality. They can be handed down for many years and are a timeless classic.

Lego’s are classic. So I knew I would be satisfied with that. But the box arrived without one of the red clasps. I was disappointed because I wanted the box especially for easy cleanup. I was torn as what to do. Finally I decided to email Lego costumer service andvwithin a few weeks I had both left and right side clasps for free!
