Best 15 dollar lego value (pull back and release)
This is a great size/project for 15 dollars. Anytime you can get a friction/pull back motor included, its a win. Even after the toy has been disassembled and the parents have walked over 1/2 the pieces loose in the dark, you still have this mechanism for a different project. Score!

Great buy small parts!
My son is 9 years old and he had a blast putting this together I do have to say if you have small children be careful the parts that come in this are very very tiny I do not have small children so it wasn't a problem for me. The packaging on the box is quiet flimsy and you cannot replace all the parts inside of it and expect it to keep them all there. For only paying 12 to $15 for this I thought it was a great by I've actually purchased a second one for my nephew because he seen my sons and was excited about it.

GRANDSON LOVED IT!
bought this one and one other (the green one) for my grandson, he is only 5 so I had to put it together, a little tricky....watch the age recommendation. one car had a better engine and went further than the other, but overall a very nice toy. the engine popping out as advertised on impact was a cool feature and he is able to put it back together easily at 5yrs old.

Fun to build and play!
I bought this and the corresponding "twin" for my nephews and they loved them! They are easy to put together for a 5 year old but challenging enough in the combined mode. They are also fun to play with once they are built because they have the pull-back to run engine and the fly-apart hood.

Fairly easy to build
My children enjoy these LEGO pull back cars. They work well. Children 8 and younger will need assistance to build. The directions are easy to understand, but if the little ones miss a step or aren’t good with visual directions, they may miss a block or use the wrong piece. Otherwise, it’s a pretty easy build. Definitely fun to play with. I enjoyed playing with the cars myself. I purchased 2 other styles of pull back cars. Great STEM project for primary grade kids.

Durable
What a fun little car. Unlike any other LEGO cat we’ve had. All other cars are delicate and you can’t really play with them but this thing is tough! It’s been dropped and smashed and it’s held together. It’s was a fun build for my 8 year old.

This is such a robust and fun toy to build & play!
This is a really robust fun toy! I (as well as my 5 y.o. boy) really liked LEGO Technic Stunt Bike (42058) because that doesn't break when kids play tough unlike regular lego! So I bought both Whack (42072) & Bash (42073) for my son & his friend. It's a bit challenging to 5 Y.O., but not overwhelming. I think it's just right amount to stimulate & develop cognitive & fine motor skills for 5~8 y.o. kids. Compared to Technic Stunt Bike, this pair run farther (less resistance after the wind-up motor runs out of propulsion), although the initial acceleration is slower. Also boys love these bad-ass racers more because they have something that breaks (sort of) when crash. You know... boys smile when something runs fast but they cracks when something breaks ;) I think it's a clever idea to include a built-in controlled-breaking mechanism.

Great Set. Super Fun.
My son loves this. Bought it for his 10th birthday. He’s been having so much fun with it. As you can he’s already lost the flames that come out the sides. He’s been running it over ramps and slamming it into walls and having a blast.

get at least two for the most fun
this is a really fun, medium challenge build toy for children 7-12 years old. they are made to be assembled into even bigger toys with other LEGO technic BASH toys, so be sure to get at least 2 so you can build multiple versions from a single toy
