I’m an audiophile and extremely picky on quality sound. However, I was looking for an inexpensive wireless sound bar for our living room tv (I have a media room with large screen and Home theatre system). I tried several sound bars from Bose, Samsung, etc. (around this price range) but none had decent bass and crisp highs. This JBL was on sale so decided to take a chance and I am pleased that I did. It truly does sound amazing for the size and especially the price. Crisp high, and rich tight bass. I’m amazed at the bass for such a small sub woofer box. It’s not a high end expensive system so it’s not perfect (music is OK, movies awesome) but it is by far the best sound you’ll get for this price range, and if you’re not a picky audiophile, it’s all you’ll ever need!

This thing is a beast. If your in a normal sized room this is all you need. The 6.5" subwoofer gets deep lows like a 12" would. I dont know how JBL does it. The dialogue is crisp and DTS audio is amazing from this thing. Turn on Surround Sound and sound effects are bouncing all over my living room. I love when a X-Wing comes flying over my head. I actually hear it over my head! No need for the JBL 3.1 or 5.1 setups unless you have a huge basement or rec room or something. These are plenty loud...

I'm an audiophile and I can tell the difference between amplified bass (like many sony products do) vs true surround bass with clear mids, highs and lows. JBL knows sound and I bought and returned 3 different sound bars before settling on this one. Very crisp sound and amazing power in bass. For best quality sound turn on surround sound and set the mode to "movie". Enjoy!

It's been maybe 5 hours with this soundbar. I hooked it up immediately. It plays bluetooth music from my phone beautifully. And so far, movies sounds fantastic. I am still playing with settings to hear what I like most. Sometimes surround is nice and other times it comes off pointless. I have a fair small room, so this is perfect. The bass really can handle a good amount of depth. I'm impressed with this!

Incredible sound out of a soundbar. Having the adjustable bass control on remote is awesome. Plenty of power for any sized room. Plus automatically switches to your bluetooth device when you connect to it. Then back to tv automatically. Cool idea. You will enjoy this soundbar. Great sound.

I bought this for my wife’s “sitting room “ upstairs. I have a large complete home theater in my man cave so I didn’t need anything high powered upstairs, just good quality sound. With that I thought this looked like it would fit my application pretty well. Had it for about a month now. So far I couldn’t be happier for the price I paid. The sound is clean and crystal clear. No distortion even at max volume. Has Very high quality sound. Surprisingly loud as well. Fills the room with loud rich sound from tv and music alike. I was concerned at first after reading some of the reviews but I have come to trust JBL over the years as I’ve always had good luck with their equipment so I went for it anyway. The concern I had was with the negative reviews on the sub as deep low end sound is important to me. (My theatre sound system has a separate 1000 watt receiver dedicated just to my stupid amount of varying sized subs placed throughout the room.) So far I have experienced none of the nightmares I read. Instructions were definitely lacking when describing how to pair the sub, but after a quick google search and the click of a link and behold, some random 12 year boy is walking me through it with ease. It has automatically connected every time it’s been powered up since. The other concerning complaint was the sub being weak and flat. In my opinion this little 6” sub is pretty amazing for its size and cost. Nice clean, deep bass that fully fills the room. However you will need to keep one factor in mind. Today’s small speakers use advanced sound engineering to create effects such as large speaker sound from a small one or surround sound out of just 2 channels. These speakers are specially engineered For sounds to reflect around the room giving a larger sound then actually produced by the driver. This fact means that Speaker placement is critical. Location Location Location!!! I moved my sub 3 times before I found the best placement to give powerful deep bass to all seats in the room. Remember, the sub doesn’t have to be in the front of the room. Unlike mid and high frequency sounds that are directional, bass sound is not. The human ear can’t fully distinguish the direction of low frequency sound therefore, your sub can be placed anywhere in the room. If you feel your bass weak or flat sounding, move it around the room. The only limitation you have on sub placement in the room is household outlet availability. Also remember, you’ll never get large, expensive, superior quality sound from a $200 Sound bar. This always requires more money. However, this. Unit in my opinion is about the best you’ll do for this price range. At this range, this unit performs excellent 10/18/20 Update: It’s been 10 months now with absolutely no issues. I still couldn’t be happier with this purchase. If you’re considering purchasing this sound bar, do it!! You won’t regret it.

I have a nice surround system from Klipsch, but I needed something for a smaller room without cables running across the floor, so I opted for a soundbar. After reading a bunch of reviews, I found this one by JBL. I was nervous that any of these soundbars would sound distorted or muffled. As soon as I hooked it up, I was very impressed. I guess I'm no audiophile because this doesn't sound a whole lot different than my expensive sound system. Granted, it is in a smaller room. Music and movies sound great, speech doesn't sound muffled and music doesn't distort at high volumes. The bass is nice for a small room. I feel more secure in the fact that this is a well-known company rather than just a random one. I'm also glad that I didn't opt for a $700-800 soundbar after hearing this one. I read some of the negative reviews, but never ran into any of the issues they encountered. Connecting and pairing the devices was a piece of cake. We'll see how this holds up over time.

I got the 2.1 to replace a six speaker surround system. The sound with this is very good. The sub provides plenty of bass. The absence of extra wires, multiple speakers, separate amp, etc. really cleaned up the appearance of my family room. (My Wife was thrilled with that.) Set up was really easy. I appreciate that it came with the necessary cables to connect to the TV (in my case an old Panasonic plasma, which has the optical cable socket). At this price, it’s a great value.

My music speakers I used on the 55" TV died and these provide a far better sound experience for movies (not as good for music, but not bad either). JBL has been around and they know how to build speakers. Connecting the speakers to TV was a breeze and there are several options (HDMI, Light Cable...). I wish it offered additional wireless speakers to place next to where we sit for even better sound, but overall, watching a movie now is close to being at a movie theater. At $180 I doubt you will find anything better. I gave the remote control 3 stars only because the bottom is rounded and the remote spins in your hand. Not a huge problem but remote controls have been around for decades, how hard is it to stick to an ergonomic design? Still, buy these speakers and you will be glad you did.

I've purchased several Harman products in the past and know they don't make junk. We needed a compact sound solution for our living area and this didn't disappoint, given the price paid. Packaging: - It's a strange "b" shape box that is awkward to open, and oddly the unboxing instruction is pasted inside the box - Toslink and aux cables are included but oddly no HDMI cable Installation: - Self-explanatory. Set TV audio to external as I am using the optical/digital output of the TV - Sub sync'd with sound bar no problem, but soundbar's default volume was very high on initial power-up, leaving my ears ringing as I scrambled to hit volume down on the remote Initial impressions: - Sub is well-designed, sturdy, and low profile. Downfiring with back-facing port for good loading/coupling to living space. The port is flared which means no chuffing sound at high volume - Sound bar clearly displays the input mode when it's changed from the remote - Sound quality very good considering price point. Clarity and detail in the little sound effects in movies. Not surprisingly, the little 2" drivers in the sound bar don't dig very low and the sub has to take over from there, so there's a bit of a sonic gap in the lower midrange/midbass - Sound stage also pretty good. Given the physical aspects/placement of the sound bar, you are not going to get a wide sound stage but watching a movie the sound is engaging enough. - Haven't used any other features so can't comment I've seen the price fluctuate on here quite a bit. I got it for $219 then saw it at $249 after a few days.
