I'm very pleased with this winder. I've had it for a couple of months now and have wound all my yarn into balls. I even wound all the pull skeins. It makes the yarn so much easier to store, I've got all my yarn where I can see exactly what I have and how much of it I have. It holds a lot yarn, I've wound an 8 oz. skein with no problem.

How did I go all these years without this product?!? Best $20 I have spent in my crochet career. Super easy to assemble and use. Just make sure to give the yarn a bit of tension to ensure your cake comes out tight and secure. Don't hesitate to buy. You won't regret it!

This yarn winder is so great! It does make this awful squeaking sometimes, but I still really like it.

What Took Me So Long?

For years, I've wound extra yarn into balls or "butterflies," both of which were tedious to make and messy to use. With this wonderful little device, I can quickly produce neat, useful, center-pull cakes of yarn that are a breeze to use. Kicking myself for waiting so long to get this!

Works as intended.

So far so good. I used this for regular worsted weight, and some thick blanket weight yarns. It worked well for both, even though I had to make several balls of the thick yarn.

Super happy with this yarn winder so far. Easy to use and super sturdy. All my yarn is in uniform cakes and I couldn't be happier!

I love this thing soooo much!

Yes, it's a bit on the cheaply made side - but it's also cheap. It works just fine for me and I've done about 100 balls with it so far. It whips up a 4oz ball in minutes. The only drawback is that it does make small/medium balls, but that's what it's supposed to make.

Great yarn winder

I love this item. No more tangles or taking forever with my yarn. Wish i had bought it from the start. It took lest than two minutes to assemble, it folds and it is easy to store. Look very sturdy.
