Way better than the toner that came with the printer

Way better than the toner that came with the printer. So far I've printed almost 1000 pages and it is still at 70% ink life. Will buy again.

For ANY printer, you can choose how much liquid you want to be printed on each paper. Brother and EVERY other printing brand base their "3000 pages" or "1200 pages" estimate at 5%. It doesn't look nearly as pretty as 10% but for those like me that do not care as much for printing quality, 5% is fine. I get about 2,500 pages printed on average for a "3000" page estimate. If you go higher with quality, you will obviously have far fewer pages. You can Google how to lower / increase this setting because it depends on whether you have a Mac or Windows.

Got tired of replacing color cartridges, so I bought a new brothers black printer. I use in my home, printing quilting patterns, & documents so small amount of usage, & color dried out/ evaporated. so went this way. so far I am VERY HAPPY. Had printer 3 months before the installed cartridge complained. So it is now in, & i will update the time frame. I use the printer for recipes, Patterns once or a few times a day.

Works well, excellent quality, page count is based on 5% coverage

Good quality toner that works reliably. It's more expensive than the generic toner cartridges, but it's worth it since these don't leak, streak, or otherwise fail in use. Keep in mind that the claimed 3,000 page life is based on a 5% print density per page. That's not a lot of print on the page, so it's not uncommon to get less than 3,000 pages before this runs out. But the 5% standard is what most toner manufacturers use to come up with a page count, so Brother is not unique in claiming a higher page count than you would get in normal use (I imagine not many people only cover 5% of the page with print). To help extend the life of the toner, use the toner save mode on the printer. Plus, change the setting so that the printer does NOT stop working when the toner is low. You can often get quite a few usable pages out of the printer with a low toner level. Instructions on how to change those settings vary based on the printer model, so check the manual online at the Brother site if you're not sure how to do it. Easy to install, and has a long shelf life (provided you keep it at room temp and sealed in a box) so you can keep one on hand for when it's needed.

Works just as it should

This is used in my home office. The installation went well; I followed the instructions included in the box. It's the 1st replacement cartridge I've used since replacing the OEM that came with the printer, so can't evaluate the longevity of it yet. It is expensive compared to the non-name brand cartridges, but haven't tried one yet to compare them.

Apart from no color I would highly recommend a laser printer to anyone who needs long lasting

Purchased a brother printer which was used during tax season, then had to purchase this for more printing. It is still full. Not sure why I didn't buy a laser printer before. Sigh.. Apart from no color I would highly recommend a laser printer to anyone who needs long lasting toner

Bad cartridge

This item does not work. I never have trouble replacing ink and no matter what I do it says no toner. The replacement order came quickly and worked perfect. I must have gotten a bad cartridge but they quickly corrected it

Prints good.

I bought this, and then learned how to refill them. Now I just buy the toner and keep filling this unit, and it's so much cheaper. As for this unit it worked great and lasted a while. No complaints.
