They work perfectly in the brooder box keeping the chicks warm. We use two lamps for 18 chicks and it seems to be just enough heat for all of them. I like how there isn't a light on 24/7 disturbing their sleep patterns. We've kept them under a heat light and they stir and chirp all night long. With these ceramic heat bulbs, they are quiet as soon as the sun goes down.

Works perfectly, keeps my cresties warm and happy during cold fall and winter months without visual light.

Used to keep an anole warm during seasonal chills when lights are off at night. Mounted in a "Zoo Med Mini Deep Dome Lamp Fixture with 5.5-Inch Dome" on a standard 10 gallon aquarium screen top, it keeps the ambient temperature right at 80 degrees, 6" from the top. Might switch down to a 60W for the 10 gallon though and hope for closer to 70 degrees at night. This heater has been in service nightly (and sometimes all day by accident!) for a couple of months now and it has been 100%.

My original review of this product was 3-stars because the lamps socket seemed too small and made humming and clicking sounds when I screwed them in. Before 24 hours, I received an email from the seller offering to replace the two lamps I'd purchased. Then they kept in touch with me and notified me when the lamps were shipped and the day they arrived. The new lamp doesn't appear to pop or click, but for me, it's the immediate attention to customer service that moves this from four to five stars. Amazon prides itself on customer service and making internet purchases as risk-free as possible. And Omakey stepped right up to meet that objective and exceed my expectations. There's a reason for the #1 Seller labels and I feel I can relay on Amazon to make that label mean something. Without hesitation, five stars and I'd buy from this seller again.

Does not work with all reptile lamps, I had to go to petco and get a lamp specific for use with heat emitters so it would screw in properly. Best used with a dimmer switch as it gets very hot! Working perfectly for a tortoise set up

Works like it should. :) 6+ months passed and it's still in good working order (daily, 12 hours, ball python).

Ok--so much better than I feared! At 18 inches, in an enclosed wooden pen (open top) my Russian tortoise has a hot spot of 96f in a warmish room. I suspect it will always read above 90' which is perfect!!! I love that I control the light in any way I please, and that this is heat-only. I wish I had these years ago! I will write re longevity as it ages; so far it's been a month or so, and still going strong.

This is working very well. The 75W ceramic seems to be providing equivalent heat as a 100W red bulb.

These worked well for heating our chicken coop in the winter.

I have been using these for a few weeks and they work. A couple of things to consider during use. 1. unless you have an indicator light you don't know if these are on or not (unlike using a light bulb in your incubator). 2. They take longer to generate heat than a light bulb so your temp might drop too low. 3. After your thermostat cuts off, these will continue to radiate heat for a little while that can push your temp over your thermostats setting.
