• Rated at 50 Micron. Ideal first stage water filter for residential homes to reduce sediment, rust, dirt, sand, and large particles before water entering to a finer whole house water filtration system
  • Flushable and reusable takes the considerable workload off finer filters that follow behind it; helps create a multi-layer gradient filtration system for better filtration results and extend filter life
  • Includes Siliphos to help prevent scale and stop corrosion, greatly extending the life of your plumbing fixtures. It is recommended that the filter to be replaced every 3-6 months to prevent scale from building up
  • Double threads on both ends: 1-inch MNPT and 3/4 inch FNPT, flush out valve has garden hose barb fitting. See-through housing provides easy visual monitoring
  • 40 - 100F, 20 - 100 psi, for indoor use only

I use these filters as a professional installer of water conditioning systems on country wells, the quality is the best in the industry and the metal construction means it will last a lifetime, the backwash is easy to use and works well, I have found that 100-200 micron screens seem to work best on heavy sediment Wells prior to the water softener, otherwise you may have to back flush the screen several times a day using the 50 micron screen on wells with heavy sediment.

This is a surprisingly "beefy" little unit - heavy duty glass container with heavy brass top and well constructed filter which is fairly easy to clean. Simple and straight-forward installation which was quite easy (they even provided some Teflon Tape!). Overall, I'm very impressed with this unit so far and will buy another for my camp house assuming I've encountered no problems after 3 months constant use (only been 40 days since I installed this). I installed this unit ahead of my cartridge filters and there is no doubt in my mind that it will significantly extend their life based on the amount of contaminants/sediment it has already prevented from reaching them - UGH!!!. I purchased the unit with the "Siliphos" filter because I have EXTREMELY hard water and the "Siliphos balls" inside the filter are supposed to help reduce hardness. I can't honestly say just yet how effective they are in reducing hardness and scale because I believe this might take some time to truly be effective. I'll update this aspect of my review after 90 days or so use. My only complaint with this unit is that I wish a mounting bracket were included or at least available for purchase to support it. There's no issue if you are installing it in rigid piping of any kind that is properly supported on either side of this unit BUT if that is not the case and one or both sides are connected to flex piping, the installation doesn't appear as neat and professional. I've not experienced any leaks so far, but it is a concern in the back of my mind over time as the piping is already sagging and I'm trying to determine the best way to support it (ie; can't strap pipe directly to the wall because you need room around the filter to be able to use the supplied wrench to remove the filter canister. I'll add some photos of my solution for this (assuming I find one).

We have Well Water and the amount of lime / calcium was horrible - Hard Water Beyond Belief so we had to come up with a solution ..... We removed the old broken down softener but there was not enough room for our Aquasana System so we moved locations and installed the new $2,000 Water Purification System in the utility room ..... Confusing so far but having a second location for a Pre-Filter we installed the iSpring WSP-SL with 1,000 Micron Screen and we thought we were on the incoming side of the water but actually we installed the iSpring after the new AquaSystem and used the largest screen ..... After a week, look at the calcium it pulled out ..... So seeeing that I ordered a second unit to put in front of my Aqua ..... Ordered with a 50 Micron Scrren and replaced the unit that is installed after the Aqua and will put 1,000 Micron in front of AquaSystem ..... I couldn’t be happerier with this unit, the performance and ease of cleaning, although I’ve only opened up twice, it is without a doubt well built and worthwhile working piece of water filtration.

The high quality construction should make this little sediment filter last for years to come. The reasonable purchase price, quality construction and savings on downstream disposable filters make this spindown a good buy. I would also like to note that I experienced very little if any pressure or volume decrease after installing this.

Installed filter as directed. After install and turning on water for 1st time the filter caught a bunch of large sediment which was easily cleaned by simply opening the valve and let drain into a bucket. once I did that and closed valve the filter was clean. Great product and easy to use. very effective and worth getting to save filter system from changing filters.

After reading reviews and doing my research, looked like the best option, with the lime scale inhibitor built in to the filter cartridge i think its a good design. I used type L copper sweat fittings on everything and works great. the threads are a little tight and i did have to exert some good force to get them to seal properly so thats my only complaint. i attached a hose to the bottom of the drain nozzle because of how close to the other pipe it was and noticed when pressure is applied to the bottom of the filter housing, the nozzle did have a little wiggle to it which worried me initially but it seems to be just fine. installed before a culligan 50 micron and 3m aqua pure. make sure your teflon wraps are taught and even.

After looking at many options for a first stage filter I ended up choosing the iSpring WSP-50SL filter. The unit has exceptional build quality and design, to include an all brass upper assembly which is fantastic, and the lower bowl, filter, and drain assemblies are of high quality. My water supply is a little hard and leaves buildup on the plumbing and fixtures, so I opted for the Siliphos filter, which will hopefully reduce the buildup issue. Overall this was a good purchase; the unit is worth its price and the customer service I have received from Nick has been great. I'll certainly continue to do business with iSpring.

Just installed it and I can already see sediment in there; at least it's working! Looks like I'll have to be flushing it out fairly often.

I had previously purchased a spin down filter for one of the big box stores. After installing it the valve at the base failed in the middle of the night. Thankfully our sump-pump was able to keep up with the flood of water. Needless to say I didn’t have confidence in the pvc unit that failed so I replaced it with this unit and so far it is functioning perfectly. Our well has a lot of sediment so this item is a must to help extend the life span of other in-line filters. Not to mention our household appliances. The construction is above average and feels very well built. I do wonder how long the scale filter will last inside the mesh and how I can get replacements. Other than this I would highly recommend.

This review is for both: 1) iSpring WGB32BM 3-Stage Whole House Water Filtration System and 2) iSpring WSP-50SL Reusable Whole House Spin Down Sediment Water Filter with Siliphos I had both of these filters installed on 12/14/2018 so they have been in use for about 13 months. I am on well water and have replaced the WG32BM filters twice on it at ~7 month interval. On WSP-50SL, i have replaced about 6 times. <= Replacement depends on if i noticed a significant pressure drop. A few additional comments: 1) I am using WSP-50SL as Stage1 filter with 50micron filter. WGB32BM serves as Stage2, 3 and 4. 2) System itself is solid and i have no complaints for it is intended to accomplish. With that in mind, installation is key; I had them professionally installed by a reputable plumber. 3) Customer Support: After installation, i noticed a leak from one of the filters from the WGB32BM - the red button to release pressure. Customer support was quick to reply on how to address it: it was just a lose screw which was easy to tight. In addition, i recently wanted to get a replacement for the o-rings and spare housing just in case i damage while replacing filters. I spoke to Nick at 123 filters and he was great and prompt in providing me replacements without any charge. That is great customer support ! 4) Good thing about WGB32BM is that it takes standard filters and you can adjust according to your needs depending on the quality of your water 5) The key benefit for me for WSP-50SL is the easy to replace "filters". I had ordered about 24 of them which should be good for atleast 2 years or so.
