I do recommend securing to the door
Overall serves its purpose very well. I do recommend securing to the door. I didn't want to use the screws because we are renting and beyond that I believe the door is hollow, so I used small clear Command hooks to secure it. (See photo)

This is a great piece for lighter items...
Love this thing. Mom does as well. I mounted it to the backside of a custom built pantry door for my mother as part of her kitched remodel. I did not use the supplied supports, so I can't speak to how well they work. Nor did I use the hooks that can be used to join the two rack units together. But, I can assure anyone interested in this item that it functions great. It is strong enough to support boxed goods, normal sized cans, loafs of bread/bagels, etc. I wouldn't go too heavy on it though. It is a wire rack after all. This is especially true if you are mounting it to a hollow door using screws. I wouldn't recommend that at all unless some type of anchor system is used. To me, this makes sense as a light item "go to" rack. Rather than fiddling with a shelf and all the issues stacking, get this rack, and throw your spices, breads, pastas, rice, sugar, and such on it. The actual racks' usable space is about 10.5" (heighth) x 15.5" (width) x 4.5" (depth). So, with 6 shelves, that is quite a bit of space that can be utilized that would otherwise go wasted. Mounting in my case was a snap. It has supplied screws, but I didn't use them. I wanted a heavier screw, and there was plenty of room to do so... The shelf is a two piece design and each piece can be mounted individually with 4 screws. Obviously permanently mounting the rack gives much more rigidity, so if you can go that route, do it. Finish and color are just fine, and the packaging was adequate to ensure no dings. If you are on the fence on this one, go for it. The price makes this a no brainer when matched to the quality and features. I highly recommend.

Use bigger screws on the sides.
Make sure you secure the sides to your door, it comes with screws to do so, but the head of the screw is small enough that the side pops off and you have to snap it back in place every once in a while but it was still a great and affordable perchase and I highly recommend it. Just use differant screws with a bigger head on the sides.

It's great! OF COURSE you have to screw it into the door!
I've been using this in my pantry for about a year now. It's holding up fantastically well! Of COURSE you have to screw it into the door/wall. Gravity doesn't really allow the shelf to be used properly if you don't. That's not the product's problem, that's just common sense. If you don't want to put holes in your door, just affix it with command hooks like a fellow clever reviewer did. But it's a must. I have tons of room to store all kinds of things and haven't had any problem with durability. It looks great. Pic attached. I definitely recommend!

Great everyday rack for the price
i simply needed a rack to install on the back of a utility closet door to hold things such as cleaning supplies, tapes, light bulbs and everyday tools. Before making a purchase online, I make it a habit to read several reviews - both positive and negative. Reading a few negative reviews NEARLY dissuaded me from my purchase, but I couldn't get away from the fact of the very reasonable price. I honestly did not have huge expectations. HOW WRONG I WAS! I am very pleased with this rack! Knowing it is a back of door rack, it kind of seems like "Common Sense" that you would need to secure it to said door. In retrospect, I should have cracked up laughing at the reviews which complained things fell out of the back of the rack when it has no back (the door does that) and it wasn't secure - the comedian famous for the saying "Here's Your Sign" comes to mind. The only "challenge" was trying to secure the rack using the puny small headed screws provided. They simply do not do a good job of securing the "notch" where the screw is meant to go. I easily resolved that by placing a washer between the screw head and the rack's notch. Easy peasy! Now the rack is quite secure. I like that the "depth" of the rack is perfect and does not stick out further than the door frame - enabling me to place in the utility closet without having shelves interfere with the rack. Now, I have commonly used items in easy reach and my closet is free from the clutter formerly taking up space. I plan to order at least two more: one for the bathroom door and the other for the back of the door leading into my basement. Bottom line- This rack is a very cost effective way to organize commonly used items, freeing up shelving and giving new purpose to previously wasted space. It is not appropriate for industrial use or strong enough to hang from (not the purpose anyway!). Use common sense and you will be pleased as well!

Very helpful.
We have too much stuff & these have really helped find a place for all of it !! I have 3 of them. My husband got them put in pretty easily. I have 1 on the inside of the pantry door which gives me a place for storage bags, aluminum foil & trash bags. And inside our 2 hall closets !! Sturdy.

It does the trick, just don't plan on heavy stuff
Easy to install. Chose the non-screw method since I am hanging from a hollow-core door. However, just hanging w/o some type of attachment isn't very stable. I used Command hook/loop strips at the top and two other points along the sides. Very strong and holds the shelving steady. Don't plan to put anything very heavy. I put some books on the thing before I had it stable and the weight pulled the whole thing off the door and slightly bent one hanger. Was able to recover and it works for what I want which is storage for light-weight items.

Pretty good!
Of course it's not the highest quality! This was the cheapest of its kind but really you can make it work. I only screwed in the top brackets but didn't want to screw in the rest b/c we have a hollow door and a crappy drill. I followed the advice of others and purchased command hooks to secure it. There will be small things that fall through or will not stand up straight because of the slats but thats an easy fix....dollar tree bins! Use your imagination! This really is a good bang for your buck

I live much better when I am organized.
I got this because it was cheap. i cannot nail anything to the door where i live. I was not looking for something heavy duty. The reality is that a lot of the food i live on comes in pouches. Storing pouches so that you can see and find them easily in cabinets is not very effective. What happens is I never really know what I have and where it is. I remember that I did have a bag of something I want to eat but I can't find it anywhere. However, this rack has changed all that. The top level is entirely for cat treats. All their treats come in pouches too, and now there is no way that they can reach them.....at least not that they have figured out yet. There is a shelf all for dried fruit, one for nuts and trail mix, one for chocolate covered nuts and berries, one for mixed snack blends and cacao nibs and the bottom is for fruit, vegetable and corn chips. Finally. I can find anything. And life is good. Another problem solved by an amazon product.

Best investment ive made for my kitchen!!
I'm not kidding when I say I have been looking for a spice rack of sorts for over two years. I've asked my husband to make one. Never got it! Asked our property manager to make one. Never got it! I saved baby food jars to make something unique. I never did thay either. Well I looked on eBay and on Amazon and finally found something that is better than all those other ideas. The whole rack itself is made of plastic costed wire. The shelves are over 5" deep. Deep enough to stack the jars in 2 rows or put the larger jars in. There is 6 rows down. You can see that my wall space was interrupted by a stair railing. But because this comes in 2 pieces I was able to put it side by side. I Love Love Love this!! I'm sure you will too!!
