I'm opening my own spoon factory for a fraction of an investment.
Really sharp and feels good in my hand (I have larger hands, not yuuuge, but on the larger side). It's not a big investment and it will definitely be on the right side of the cost vs reward assessment. Think of all the money you'll save in your spoon purchasing budget. Hipsters and millennials should be warned that this tool is well suited for making spoons... Based on your common belief that spoons make you fat, only the most skinny and malnourished among you should attempt use. Did I mention that it's sharp? Get your parent's/grandparent's permission before bringing this or any sharp tools into their basement.

It just keeps cutting....
High quality, the handle is very comfy and the blade just keeps cutting. Once you start carving with it the cut angles shape the wood in very consistent and smooth removal of material. I hate that I waited so long in getting one of these. I do art carving and use hard woods. Oak, Hickory, seasoned redwood, teak and ebony. This knife cuts them all. Added a photo of me using the knife. I just cut three tear drop notches that 4x4x3 inches. These were all cut with the hook knife because I wanted to preserve the surrounding heart wood grain features for a four and half foot tall 12" diameter redwood sculpture that I am creating. The notches will hold 3.5" spheres of Calcite, Obsidian and Soap Stone. This hook knife has held it's edge through the process.

Sharp and easy to use.
Works great I made a wooden spoon with this hook knife along with the BC C2, and the C1 US Whittling Knife by BeaverCraft. The edge stayed sharp and is an easy tool to work with after you get use to it. I just started whittling and this was my first spoon I made, can't wait to get the time to cave out other neat things, very relaxing hobby. Nice product at an affordable price. Here is a couple of pics of what I made.

good knife, great deal.
I was very surprised when this knife came. They claimed the knife to be sharp and read to use. Amazingly it was sharp and ready to use. I had to do nothing to sharpen it. I took it out of the box and carved a few strokes on some very old dried oak and it cut great. It is also comfortable. I love this knife. There are other knives out there and for a lot more money that are not as good as this one.

Good product, maybe too small
I’m new to spoon carving. This is a nice quality product. Very sharp out of the box. I’m making mixing/serving spoons and it seems like it is a little too small for a spoon that large. I carve by holding the knife in my right hand and use the fingers of my left hand in various positions to pry against, that way there is no high forces that could cause me to slip (I use a cut-proof glove on my left hand too). It is a little awkward finding all the correct positions with a knife this small, it works though. Because I pry, the sharp point has got the best of me a few times. I’m thinking of grinding it off, but am going to look into it a bit.

Great knife, amaaaazing price!
I know that, when it comes to many things, people hear or use a certain brand and won’t use or give any other the time of day. This very much so when it comes to carving tools. Let me tell you this; if you pass on this hook knife because you want the so called “better” name knife, you are ripping yourself off. This knife is amazing. It came sharpened and ready to roll. The action was smooth and that is saying a lot as I used an old dried piece of wood to test it. I haven’t tried any green wood yet, but I know it will champion it. I really can’t understand why it’s so cheap. I am going to buy another before the company figures out they are underpriced though. Seriously, this is a great knife!

You will like these tools !!
I had been getting into carving and wanted to add spoons and bowls to my skill set. Had noted carving knives and spoon knives on Elsey when I was searching for chisels. I loved the look of these from Beaver Craft, and they had great reviews! Since I really didn't want to wait weeks for them to ship from Europe, I searched around and was pleased to see them on Amazon, again with great reviews! They arrived within 2 days from ordering. Great looking, well made, and terrific handles. You will be hard pressed to beat the price for the quality. I stropped them as directed, and had three spoon bowls carved out within three days of receiving them. Get some carving gloves, and a bent gouge or two as well.

Every bit as good as Moraknives
I'm new to woodcarving, and I have to say that I was a little skeptical of this brand. Everything I read and watched told me to buy Mora and Pfeil. I got Mora knives and Pfeil gouges, but I decided to take a chance on this hook knife. I don't know why, but this brand looked a bit suspect next to the others. Well, I'm glad I bought this. The knife works every bit as well as my Moras, and arrived surgically sharp and ready to use. The knife arrived surgically sharp, and the blade has held and edge for several projects now, with only occasional stropping--and that was probably unnecessary. The knife is solidly built, and the oak handle is very comfortable in the hand. The flats on the side of the handle give good tactile feedback, and allow for easy control of the knife. I like the copper ferrule, too. In all, this is a very solidly built knife for an extremely reasonable price. If I had everything to do over again, I think I would have bought BeaverCraft knives exclusively. I do wish this knife had included a case or sheath. For the price, I can hardly complain, though. I'll make something for it when I have time.
