Great fans, pretty quiet
I did a lot of research before buying a couple of these for intake fans on the front of my case. I currently only have them up front and one 120mm phanteks exhaust fan in the back. My temps are wonderful. I had the two stock phanteks ones up front before this and not only did my temps come down, but the noise did as well. As with all fans they can get pretty loud if you have on an aggressive fan curve. My 8700k and 1080 SC2 are all air cooled so I have a decently strong fan curve going and I never feel they are too loud. It's a very solid whirm sound too, nothing obnoxious. Also I saw several reviews dog'n on how they only come with enough of the colored rubber nibs to do one side, well that is functionally all you need... You aren't suppose to put them on either side, just the for corners that make contact with the case. My only complaint is actually that they include all 4 or 5 colors in the box. I knew I wanted black and the others are basically just trash for me.. Would be nice if you could select color options, maybe drop the price a buck or two.

no led lighting, just high quality.
what can i say. amazing quality. quiet, powerful, well made product. someone in the reviews complained that there are not enough colorful vibration softener corner items are in the box. i guess that person was unable to find the small box inside the packaging which contains dozens of vibration pads in all color combinations for each fans. i ordered 6 fans, and now i have about a hundred vibration pads left in total. highly recommended product.

These are Awesome
I didn't want to purchase the higher priced noctua fans because well they are almost double the price of fans that move similar or more air. BUT I am damned happy that I did. This machine is SOOOO quiet. I have...sevenno eight fans in my machine (2x140) , (1x92), (5x120) and you almost can't tell the fans are on. It truly is amazing. Even when I stress test my machine it's still not that loud. I added a different brand to test the noise level and it was honestly like 10+db quieter than the competitor. Needless to say, these are now the only fans that I will purchase for my future PC builds. Also...Black. Noctua, I get it. The doo doo brown man that 'ish was ugly. Thanks for the black fans.

BEST FANS OUT THERE! DON’T USE ANYTHING ELSE!

Noctua and Aesthetics are a thing!
The presentation of the fan and packaging of the components gives a very good impression of Noctua's excellent standard and dedication to their products, not only that the performance is more or less the same compared to the Brown variant of which wouldn't suit well in terms of aesthetics in my case. Achieving the best of both worlds in terms performance and aesthetics is no small feat, Noctua has done a very good job in balancing the 2 aspects well. Of course the hefty price is probably the only downside to Noctua Fans, you can however be assured that Noctua Products are among the best in the market, if not the best.

and they are wonderful fans. They're very sturdy
I bought half a dozen of these to replace all of my case fans (now that they come in black, thank goodness), and they are wonderful fans. They're very sturdy, and I was surprised at how heavy they were compared to every fan I've owned before. A few of the fans seems to have an odd vibration at specific speeds, but nothing major, as changing by 2-3% made the noise go away. These push a lot of air and for being relatively quiet. They can definitely get loud at 100%, but that's when cooling is an absolute priority.

I always heard Noctua was good......
But not this darn good! I always thought they were the ugly "tan and brown fans", and that other famous brands were just as good. NOPE. I was very wrong. These replaced one of two at the top of my case that failed from another OEM (I LOVE their case still)....so....I decided to replace both just for the heck of it, and so they would match. The rubber grommets are so nice too. Put the black ones on the metal-side and the red on the inside-facing of the case. TIP put them on both sides. One for shock absorption and the other for aesthetics. Best of both worlds. Guess what, they work. There is NO fan vibration sound on the case anymore…. very impressed. Just a whisper and a LOT of warm air being moved. I’m very surprised how good these are. Keep placing my hand at the top of the case exhaust to validate…yep, still warm at load and QUIET. Well done Noctua! Your engineers obviously know how air moves through blades, etc. I am now a BIG Fan, thank you. WELL WORTH THE MONEY (and it’s like $5 more per fan…)

Quiet & Quality Case Fan Expected of Noctua. Wish it was made in Taiwan.
Very good case fan. Noise level is excellent and pretty much unnoticeable during normal loads (noise level was good under load too). The screw holes are not pre-screwed with the spirals in them but apparently this is common with fans. Cons: - Mine was made in China, not Taiwan. Don't know if the Chromax line has made in Taiwan versions but read that the made in Taiwan versions have better quality. - You only get 4 of each color for the vibration pads so if you want your fan in a single color, you'll need to buy extras from Noctua. This wasn't an issue for me since my case only has room for one case fan and it'll be completely hidden in the back section of the case behind the motherboard. Noctua should sell the fan with 8-16 pads in one color of our choice instead of a fun pack of five colors (4 per color). - The 4-pin cable is detachable but the sleeve is oversized and would be better if it was braided.

Good fans. Wierd cables. Gimmicky antivibration mounts.
The antivibration feet are wierd. A bit softer of a rubber than expected and fussy to use. I originally thought they were supposed to mechanically isolate the fans from the case to allow the fans to float but in practice they are cushions to soften the contact of the fan to the case so that even if the screws holding the fans on loosen a bit no vibration of the case will cause the fans to rattle. The fans themselves don't cause any rattles so it's not even a necessary effort but I guess they look allright. I don't get why the cables are detachable. They didn't include alternate lengths so having the bulky plug so close to the fan but still dangling did more to make installation difficult than make it versitile. The fan cable should either not separate or unplug directly from the family shroud. I can't see the current system being what anybody wanted.

Undisputable Quality
I've tinkered around with various makes of case fans and decided to take a chance and picked one of these up - Noctua NF-A14 PWM Chromax - and I am glad that I did. The PWM control is superb and the noise level is excellent at the 800-1000 RPM threshold I currently push this fan. I used Noctua some years ago but opted to go with magical 'levitating' types in more recent years, only to find that there is inherently bad commutation noise from that design. These are spectacular albeit on the high side for price. You won't be disappointed as long as you know that going in... Enjoy!
