ADHD bedtime life saver!

I purchased this blanket for my 6 year old son ( approximately 48 lbs) who has ADHD as well as minor sensory processing disorders. Bedtime has been an ongoing struggle the past 4 years for him and I. Every single night he would fight me about going to bed and when he would get into bed he could never calm himself down. I’ve tried everything, soothing music, deep pressure massage on his legs-which seemed to work some nights, but the majority of the time it was a nightly battle for him. He just couldn’t get himself to calm down enough to fall asleep. He would squirm around for hours some nights. I had read about these blankets and the benefits they serve for children who suffer from ADHD along with sensory issues and finally decided on purchasing one. Years ago I had gotten him a weighted vest which seemed to work extremely well so I was hoping this blanket would work for him, even if just a little. Anything would be better than what we’ve been going through. My son has used this blanket for 3 nights now and bedtime for him has done a complete 180. Since he’s used this blanket he hasn’t argued about going to sleep, he gets right into his bed and falls asleep quickly. I lay the blanket over his entire body and the second the blanket touches his body I notice a total change in him. (Id like to mention that along with the blanket I’ve also been playing the song “Cannon in D.” It’s all instrumental ( the song is played during weddings in a church, so if you hear it, you may recognize the song from that.) I had read that particular song works very well for ADHD kids and so I figured I’d try the song and the blanket. I probably wouldn’t even need to play the song because the blanket itself would put him to bed, but my son has been use to hearing background noises to help him fall asleep and needs some kind of music for bedtime. These blankets are a little pricey BUT it’s well worth the money because of the benefits you will receive from it. Since my son has been using the blanket hes finally getting enough of rest. Our school morning routines are so much easier and less stressful as well. He’s not exhausted like he had been from getting to bed so late and not getting a full nights rest. The blanket has him falling asleep with in ten minutes. It also has him sleeping soundly the entire night without tossing and turning like he had done every single night before using this blanket . Please if your child is having any problems falling asleep or just needs help calming theirselves down get this blanket. Great sleep has worked wonders

I don’t know why I waited so long to get one of these blankets. I’ve been reading about them for years. When my little guy started having trouble-sleeping, anxiety, and behavior problems-I remembered this blanket and ordered one as fast as I could. Great sleep has worked wonders!

Excellent blanket!!

This blanket has been a life saver for my toddler. He is special needs and has anxiety issues and restless legs due to his disability, he is blind and has sensory issues and this blanket has really calmed him and helped him sleep better. It’s an excellent choice for anyone with anxiety (adults included) you won’t be sorry for this purchase one bit!!

Perfect size for my 2.5 year old!

I had been looking for a nice weighted blanket for my 2.5 year old son, however I wanted one with a cover I could remove and wash. That's when I came across this blanket and decided to give it a try. My son has slept with it for the last five nights and he LOVES it. The last five nights he has not fought bedtime and when the blanket it on him he calms right down and goes to sleep. I also have a weighted blanket of my own and I noticed he liked to cover his legs with it and it seemed to calm him down, so that's what prompted me to look for a blanket for him as well. I should also mention that the outer cover washes really well. My son had an accident, so I removed the cover, washed in cool water on a gentle cycle and tumbled dry on very low. It does say not put in dryer, however I did anyway and there were no issues at all. I'm so happy with this purchase and would recommend to anyone! My son is 36" tall and this blanket was the perfect size and weight.

Game changer, and separate duvet cover is the best part!

Not a magic bullet, but certainly was a real turnaround for one of my three year olds being able to fall and stay asleep. She wasn’t excited to have a different blanket than her twin sister, but since it was a comforter with a separate duvet cover, I was able to put the weighted blanket part of it in her existing duvet cover from ikea, which were the same size, and she loves it (not sure she realizes it’s a different blanket from her sister).

Better sleep for our child (and us!)

Our 4 year old daughter has ADHD and would take up to an hour to go to sleep every night. (She would be hyper and get up and play, keep going to our room or our son’s room.) She would also have vivid nightmares that would cause her to wake up crying and come wake us up in our room almost every night. We’ve had this blanket for almost two weeks and it has been amazing. She has been falling asleep pretty quickly and also has not been having nightmares. The blanket is also really soft and breathable (I was worried she would get too warm.) We are very happy (and less sleep deprived) with this blanket!

Great for anxiety

It has really helped my son sleep better for naps and bedtime with his anxiety. He now feels like someone is with him, so he is sleeping longer stretches for naps and during the night, making everyone more rested and happier.

It's super soft and the texture helps with calming him

My son has Autoimmune Encephalitis and has lots of newly developed sensory issues. This blanket has been an absolute blessing! He has difficulty making his needs known at times and was becoming aggressive with hospital staff. Since we received the weighted blanket, those issues have significantly reduced and he will ask for his blanket when he feels overstimulated. It's super soft and the texture helps with calming him. Great calming effects for my son with Autism!

I have been so happy with this blanket! My son is 3 1/2 years old with severe autism. He has generally slept only 3-5 hrs a night since he’s been about 18 months old. This blanket has been basically magic!!! He was a bit hesitant at first, but the super soft side with the sensory stimulation of the other side helped him get use to much faster. I can SEE the relief when I lay this blanket on him. He falls asleep easier, stays asleep longer and absolutely LOVES it! It is very easy to wash ( hand wash the weighted part) and I would honestly say the only things I’d improve on would be instead of ties inside to hold the weighted part, maybe a Velcro or something else? Just is a bit tedious to tie off all 6 anchor points. Also, the zipper sticks out just enough to be some what annoying. I’m being really picky, but I’d totally buy this again and have recommended it to all my friends in the ASD community! Thank you for making a great product at a reasonable price. I can’t say anything on the longevity, but after 3 washes everything still seems exactly the same.

Worth the $$

Being used for a 36 lb three year old who has never slept well and has sensory, language, behavioral issues. He always kicked off his blankets and wound up freezing by morning. The weighted blanket stays put and helps ground him while calming down to go to sleep. It's really been worth every penny. The cover is soooo soft and silky. I really need one of these for me!
