A Great Tool with Some Limitations

These blocking mats have vastly improved the look of my finished knitting projects. The printed grid helps shape wet-blocked garments to size, and the mats break apart easily for storage. In addition, the mat material is sturdy and relatively self-healing from repeated use with T-pins. I regret that they have to be assembled by number to make the grid come out right, which limits the configurations you can use. Potential buyers should be aware that one set of these will not accommodate one of the larger shawl patterns or a very large sweater. I don't know if two sets of mats will link together so that the grid remains usable. It would be worth a try.

I thread crochet so blocking is essential! I did a lot of research before I bought these blocking mats. I wasnt sure what I should get but I did know what I needed! I needed blocking mats that didn't smell, with color that didn't bleed, steam and wet-blocking friendly, and 'sizable' for small projects and really big projects....boy did Hephaestus blocking mats really met the bill! I couldn't be happier! These mats are perfect! Not only do they meet all my requirements they are wonderfully thick :) The lines all seem to match up just fine and when you get all the blocks together, it is huge! Super great product!

Love these blocking mats

Love these blocking mats. They work just great. Someone said the grid lines don't match up---- but they do---you just have to take a little time, turning the blocks to find the correct match. Once lined up, I numbered mine so that when used again, it will be quick and easy to get the grids to match perfectly.

A dream come true for crochet projects

Love these blocks. They are thick and fit together perfectly. Makes blocking my crochet projects easy. I spent many years using foamcore board and a ruler to block- never again. Also, customer service is incredible! Thanks.

Exactly what I wanted

I had a chance to use these this week and they are great! they fit together perfectly, all the grid lines match up, the squares are numbered so they do match. They are seem to be nice and sturdy. There is no smell to these mats and my set was complete with the pins and tape measure. Perfect for my crafting needs

This product is perfect for blocking crochet projects. It is easy to assemble and has a small footprint for storage. The squares and pins make it easy to block my projects.

Very happy with this product!

I just used this product for the first time and I'm extremely happy with it. The blocks are well made and very thick. The water from blocking does not hold and the colour of the mats does not bleed (and my first item was white so I'm very sure of this!). There was no smell from the mats which I hear is often an issue for mats from other sources. The lines on mine do line up very well without much rearranging. I will be buying more of these on the future!

Fantastic blocking pads

Love these blocking pads. They go together easily and having the grid to measure was very helpful. My cats enjoyed the mats, also!!

Excellent Crochet/Knit blocking!

These are very good blocking blocks especially for the price. I am very satisfied. At first when I received them I had a problem lining up the gridlines. I contacted the seller who responded promptly and with a little mix and match I am now able to align them. Previously I had ordered a competitors blocks and I could not even take them out of the box. The smell was overwhelming. I had to return them immediately. Not so with these.
