These doggone things are excellent. It is a bit annoying to have to cycle through all the various beam styles, but the things sure work great. When we have a very rare outage, they light up the room instantly. We sometimes see the light beam before we realize the electricity is off. One has to be certain they have the slider switch in the right setting, or unexpected results will happen, such as having the light come on when it gets dark inside. We particularly like the way the wall plugin swivels, as some of our outlets have sidewise sockets. This is what emergency lights should have been in the first place.

Great product. Got one for grandma then one for dad. Easy for them to find. Turns on automatically when power goes out. Dad uses it as a nightlight as well. Bulb power is pretty decent. Everyone should have at least one of these.

I'm not sure how long this will last but overall I am happy with the product's functionality. I placed this is in the hallway near the front door of my mom's apartment so its a nightlight that comes on when it's dark. If there is ever an emergency the flash light is right there for her to grab and use. It's a good size -- not too big or small - and the buttons are easy to use. The light is reasonable bright but its no torch. If I was using it to work in a dark place then I would want something much brighter. But for illuminating a dark hallway it is perfectly fine.

A great choice for an emergency power failure light and flashlight. A friend of mine has used these for years. She gave me an older one to take into work after all our emergency lights failed. We decided to purchase some to put them in rooms that don't have emergency lights, and now we always have flashlights handy as well. They do wear out after a few years, but, unlike our official emergency lights, it is easy to check on them.

I've had lots of emergency back-up lights, including the Eco-lite predecessors to this one, These are by far my favorites. The night-light and worklight functions are new, and welcome. These don't roll away on a slanted surface, like the original Eco-Lites. They are also far more reliable. Half my original Eco-lites were dead within three years (others, to their credit, are still going after 8 years). All of these (10 total) are still going strong after 3-4 years. If you need a flashlight, just grab one of these from the outlet charger - always ready. Not as good as a real flashlight or worklight some of the time (outdoors, on a stormy night, installing tire snow chains, for instance), but an 80-90% solution.

Many years ago, we bought one at a local hardware store. Liked it so much that went to Amazon to get more (the local store stopped carrying them) and read the reviews. There were many unhappy customers but with our experience, decided to try a 2-pack. These 2 have also been running for years and one is in a garage that has seen -22 degrees F (yes minus 22 F) and still works just fine. So ordering 2 more and will probably get a couple more as other lights fail.

I first saw these when I was at a client's house a couple of years ago and loved the concept and had to get a set of my own. I purchased a set and love them - they are still working after a couple of years with no problems. Just recently I ordered another set for my daughter to have while she was away in another country! She and her roommates loved them as well. It helped tremendously when there was a blackout and/or batteries were dead in their other flashlights; as well it was a great night light option.

I'd love to give it 0 stars as the light is an expensive night light and nothing else. When I take it off the charger nothing functions on it. I charged it for 24 hours, then waited another 24 hours and another. Nothing works except the night light when it's in the charger. As soon as it's removed no lights work no matter what combination of switches I moved and buttons I pushed, Any suggestions out there? I contacted the company and they sent a replacement that works perfectly! The light (both nightlight and flashlight) are very bright. I am totally pleased.

I've had these flashlights for years. After 3 to 4 years I notice that some of the led bulbs start to burn out and the battery just doesn't recharge. Although they are pricey, I haven't found anything as useful for our needs. It's a flashlight and/or a nightlight. In case of power outage, it automatically comes on. I purchased this 2 pack for my mom's apartment so she could have one in the hallway towards the bathroom and one in her bedroom. The original one I gave her 3 years ago is still working but 2 led bulbs in the flash light and 2 in the nightlight section are gone. We are still using that one in the kitchen. These give my mom (and us) piece of mind that she can get around in a power outage. Plus, there's always a flashlight available in one place (as long as you put it back after use) so we don't have to hunt one down. Ours is place near a back door so we can also use it if we have to go outside at night in the yard where not enough light ever seems to get to.

It's very bright and I love that I can adjust so many things. On the higher setting while plugged in, the nightlight is bright enough to completely light up my foyer and brighten both my living room and hallway (around a corner) enough to move around safely. On the lower setting it's just enough light for moving around the foyer. I was worried about the effectiveness of the cradle charger since the light just sits loosely inside (nothing grabs or clicks to secure it in place), but the simplicity is actually quite convenient, and the flashlight hasn't fallen out of the charging base yet. You can spin the flashlight in the charging base to aim wherever is best and it will still charge. You can set it to always stay on as a nightlight, be motion activated (which is very sensitive and detects me walking well in advance from across the room), or just stay off while charging. Using it as a flashlight is just as bright with brightness options, and easy to figure out as well. The included instructions are very simplistic and easy to follow so you don't overlook any of the features. It's definitely a good buy and worth the extra money.
