Preferred alternative to florescent

This light was purchased to add lighting to my garage and I was impressed by how bright and light weight it is. I was considering a cheap florescent fixture, but some of the factors that made me choose this are that I don't have to worry about changing tubes that are easily broken and have to be disposed of property because they contain toxic mercury. Sure, it costs a bit more than a cheap florescent fixture, but it's a lot less hassle and more energy efficient. In the end, it's less expensive because of this. The package also contains a mounting and product information sheet, along with all required hardware for mounting directly with screws or hanging from chains. The frame is made from thin steel, so it is somewhat flexible and sort of feels cheap, but that's also what makes it light weight and easy to install. This light is incredibly bright and uses integrated LEDs inside a plastic tube. Integrated means they are not intended to be user serviceable and cannot be replaced if they stop working. However, LEDs typically have a much longer lifespan than florescent lights. This particular light is rated for 50,000hrs, or 5.7 years of continuous service. Considering most lights aren't on continuously, this light would likely last 10-15 years in a commercial setting or 20-25 years for residential use. Also, consider that this light comes with a 7-year warranty. Overall, to me, this light seems to be a great value and it's maintenance free. Even if it only lasts me half the time I expect, it's still better than the florescent alternatives.

Very light weight ,about a 15th of the old fixtures weight. The look of a 2 tube shop light but will last for life. Color temp of 4000k is perfect. This one fixture is taking the place of 3 florescent fixtures. No $30 ballast or starters to ever worry about again. Bulbs are meant to look like florescent tubes and are not replaceable but have LED'S inside. Unlikely to burn out in your lifetime. I have 10 fixtures in my 6 car garage and am replacing with 5 LED fixtures. There are a total 26 flourescent tubes in my old fixtures- no more buying bulbs again. FYI you can buy a ten pack at a quantity discount.

More light than I know what to do with

I bought two of these to replace some very old 4' fluorescent fixtures and it's like night and day. Easy to install and daisy chain with the 5 ft power cord. Not sure why the 2-pack costs more than two single packs (buy the singles unless you need a 4 pack or more). Shipping boxes are pretty flimsy as both units were gently smushed which translated to some bending in the reflector shade, but nothing obvious. I scoffed at the pull chain, but it comes in handy if you need to power down the light output by turning off one light. Will have my fingers crossed on longevity and the 7-year warranty.

Great!

Very nice and cheaper than buying a florescent bulb pack and fixture at walmart! Very bright and has a built in connection to chain to another light!. however the mounting holes were stamped backwards on mine so i had to suspend it as there was no way to hang it with screws. Keep in mind the bulbs dont come out so that made it impossible to get it apart to modify the bad drilled holes. Still this is a nice product!

Let there be LIGHT

ohhhh, yes. Yes. It's amazing how much happier I am when I can see what I am doing. I don't know why I didn't get one of these sooner. Really makes a world of difference. Easy enough to put up, I mean, it hangs from the ceiling so I had to climb on the table and drill above my head. But that was momentarily painful compared to the bright sparkling goodness now when I pull the string and yessss. Perfect for me and I will buy a couple more for my studio over my workbench and drafting table.

Easy to install and efficient

I have purchased a total of 4 of these LED utility shop light fixtures. I like the fact that the pull chain is mounted in the center of the underside of the fixture, near one end, so that the pull chain is less likely to break with continued on-off use. Hanging one of these fixtures is quick, because the slots at each end (which accept an S hook) are well-designed, so that the S hook will not easily fall out or (worse) fall inside the sheet metal of the fixture.

Good value shop light!

I bought the 4 pack of these for my garage, and being pleased with those, I bought a single to use over my workbench. These lights are decent quality for the price, nice & bright which makes things easier to work on. As I noted in my 4 pack purchase review, the chain to turn them ON or OFF is pretty short. But this was easily remedied by cutting a length of nylon rope and tying it to the provided chain to make it easier to reach.

their brightness and how I can mount them in my shop

I wanted to flush mount these lights in my shop, but because of the design, I didn't know where to drill a hole where I would miss the wiring inside. These lights are incredibly bright and I would like to replace the lights in my spray room with them but those have to be flush mouted due to space restrictions. Over all, ths is a very good product. If you have this light in a flush mount design, please let me know.

Bright Shop Light!

Wow! This light is do much brighter than my old shop lights. It is an amazing difference. It was easy to unpack and had all the items in it I needed to hang it with. Plugs right into the ceiling plug and I am in business. It has a pull cord but mine switches on with all the other lights from the walk switch. I will replace the rest of the old fixtures as they fail and need ballast.

Light and Bright

I used the Sunco fixtures to replace three old fluorescent light fixtures I had in my garage, I was amazed at how easy they were to install and how much brighter they are than the old fixtures. I also will not have to keep a box of spare bulbs around like I did with the fluorescent lights. Great lights!
