I work in a downtown building where reception is hard to get. I have this on my desk and unlike others who have foil on their antenna's, this little radio comes in clear!

At first aI was worried, it is very light and very old school technology. Reminds me of some from the 60's. The reception is amazing though. I bought this because others had made comments about that. I want to listen to the local minor league baseball team at work. Work is a metal frame building with loads of florescent lights, computers, and electric motors. None of my other radio devices work at all. Crystal clear reception with this radio! Speaker a 5 on fidelity, but an 8.5 on volume. Perfect for what I want it for at a great price.

I bought this for my mother when she was in hospice. She was ninety, blind, hard of hearing and starting to get a little confused. New technology was very confusing for her. I searched high and low for an old school hand held radio like the one's she was familiar with decades ago. This radio was perfect for her. There were only four functions for her to manage and she was already familiar with how to use them. The radio has great reception. Stations come in clear and strong here in the outskirts of Los Angeles County. My mother could turn up the volume without distortion. She loved it! I loved it because it brought her some happiness during a very difficult time. It is an understatement to say how very grateful to have found this radio.

I BOUGHT IT TO LISTEN TO K-9 KATIE TALK SHOW. I'M USUALLY NOT HOME WHEN SHE COMES ON AT 4PM ON SUNDAYS. LAST WEEK I HAD TO SHOP AFTER WORKING AND BROUGHT IT INTO THE GROCERY STORE SO I COULD CATCH THE WHOLE SHOW. THE RECEPTION IS BETTER THAN THE RADIO BY MY BED. IT COMES IN GOOD & STRONG. I'M VERY HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE. I WOULD DEFINITELY BUY THIS ONE AGAIN.

I live in a deep forest, far from the next town and frequently have periods of time when the electricity is off for 24 hours or more. I have had other radios but returned them because they didn't work under the circumstances. This little radio is excellent! It has clear reception and easy to use,, small enough to carry around. I am going to order another for my "flight bag".

I really like this radio, its no frills, outstanding reception, uses 2 AA batts, batts last for a long time, better reception than on very similar i purchased 4 yrs. ago, but better reception for hundreds of stations, i use it 4 hrs. a knight listening to coast2coast and the batts last about 6 mo. I am really happy to replace my old one with this, i thought it might have better tech antenna and it does, my description inexpensive, good engineering and long batt. life.

My mom used to have a pocket radio to listen the news in the morning while she did her housework until it broke. We went to a lot of stores to look for one but they all told us that they didn't sold those anymore, that she should use her phone. For a person who is starting to learn about smartphones, this is a huge step, so when I purchased this radio, I prayed for it to be a good one, and I wasn't mistaken. The radio is not have and it's speakers are loud enough, so my mom can have it in her pocket while cooking, walk around the house and the reception won't stutter at all! She loved it! Definitely recommend it!

Bought this for my 95 year old Aunt whose transistor (yes I said transitor) radio died after all these years. She is very happy with it. The sound is really good. The knobs are similar to her old radio. I like because it uses 2 AA batteries instead of a 9 volt. It has proved to be a great replacement for her old radio.

Certainly the best under $20 shirt pocket radio now available. Very strong reception on both AM and FM. Very good battery life. Note that this is a mono only radio. The tuning can be a bit fiddly, but once tuned you are all set. On AM the radio is quite directional, meaning you may have to turn the radio 180 degrees to find the strongest signal. I live about 50 miles from the big city, and it pulls in both AM and FM signals from that distance, no problem. I use it mostly for spoken word stuff: NPR, sports and news so the speaker or the mono headphone works fine. It does not come with 2 AA batteries, nor any earphone. I like the black color better than the silver, but they work the same. A great little companion, and perfect emergency radio, great do drop in the backpack. But if you are looking for a truly fine portable that does it all look at the Tecsun PL 880- probably the best portable on the market in any category- but they are $150- worth it,- but expensive. If you want a little radio for your fishing tackle box so you can listen to the ball game, the Vondior at $20 or less, cannot be beaten.

Full disclosure: I am a radio nerd. I used to fall asleep with a transistor radio under my pillow, fascinated by the chatter from across the country. Since then, radios are made more cheaply I suppose. Never seen one that came close to reception ability of these older models. I've tried radios that claimed they had more crystals, more diodes, more of whatever gives a radio the means to get clear reception from far away stations. Not impressed. Until this one. I live in the middle of nowhere. A real dead zone blocked by mountains. No cell phone service, no radio. Nothing. The Vondior picks up more stations than I ever thought possible. Unbelievable reception from such a small package.
