Huge time saver!

Quick and easy to assemble, I use my chain saw gas (50/1), started right away. I've saved hours planting my garden and green house. Well worth the money.

Ageless wonder

I have had my Mantis since back when Amazon only sold books and yes, it can be pain to start, sometimes. The key is fuel. Never, never, put ethanol fuel in the machine. Never store it over winter with fuel in the tank. Do the maintenance. The quality is excellent, but only as good as the components. Weakest link is the carburetor, a $30, part. Get the tune up kit from Mantis and be sure to add grease to the gear box. I look at new ones, but heck, mine still works great, after 20 years of digging in nasty Carolina clay. ps. I bought mine from a outdoor power tool dealer, not online or a big box store.

What's your problem?

I was looking for a new tiller and was looking over the reviews I just had to respond with mine. I had my tiller for almost 18 years. In that time it has always performed well for the right job. It was easy to start, lightweight, dependable and , did a good job from virgin soil to an established garden. Of course in new soil it had to work a little harder to get into condition. Although lately it is becoming difficult to start, I have to remember it is quite old now and a replacement is in order I think. Some of the recent problems stem fro the fact I stored the tiller in an outdoor shed which usually get is damp and lately have not kept a good maintenance routine. All in all, I feel my Mantis was well worth the cost. Those that have an initial problem usually can be traced to a lack of understanding what this tiller is for and how it is supposed to function (you can tell by the complaints). If you buy this tiller, follow good maintenance and keep it clean after each job and you will have a dependable easy to start machine for some some time. Good Luck!

The most impressive machine out there !!!

This tiller is one awesome piece of equipment. It works great in flower beds all the way to a garden. I would recommend it to anyone.

Very familiar with Mantis as I purchased a unit 28 years ago. A real work horse. Perfect for around any home. would recommend to anyone who wants a unit that is dependable and starts every time.
