Worked Like A Charm
Got this as a replacement for tool #AM-8686 to unload the torsion bars on my '05 Dodge Ram 1500, so I could change my lower control arms. It fit and worked perfectly. Three things that were recommended to me so I'll pass them on. 1) Grease the threads before using. I used brake grease, because it was sitting in my bench. 2) Do not use an impact wrench , turn these with a hand socket. 3) Measure the exposed threads on the torsion bars before you start with a set of inside calipers to assure you get them back in exactly the same place, or your truck will not sit right.

Works well. I am glad I purchased this to install a leveling kit on my Tahoe. I don't see how a C clamp would have worked. I highly recommend using an impact wrench to crank this thing. You will need a 1" socket to turn the knob. A 6 point impact socket would be best.

Unload your suspension
This tool had no issues unloading and loading the torsion bars on my 2008 Chevy 2500 LMM. The key with these is to get the front tires completely off the ground. The other thing to keep in mind is if you are going to try and change out the keys to level/lift make sure you have shock extensions. I was having a hard time using this tool and realized my shock was actually holding up the LCA which was causing me to torque on this more than i wanted to. Put shock extensions in and had no problems afterward. NOTE: this tool will yield. Make sure you keep the threads lubed and if you have to use anything more than a 12" wratchet then you might damage the tool. You can use an 18" breaker bar but if you have to start cranking, something is wrong.

Great for what it is, worked like a charm.
I ordered this thinking it was a must have to replace some keys on my 2004 2500HD. I didn't want to splurge for the big buck Kent-Moore tool so I opted for the cheapest one. This worked great and did not have any deflection when cranked deep to clear the retainers with aftermarket keys installed. I highly recomment this one. WARNING! Do not try and use this tool with pressure on the front suspension. You MUST raise the vehicle first! Tip: If you are replacing your keys, spray some penetrating oil where the spring hex is at before you start. Also, if you are in the rust belt, you are going to need a large air hammer to bust the spring loose. If you don't have one, plan on removing the entire cross member and both springs from the truck (if you can get it out) and use heat on the keys.... You have been warned...

Worked great
This tool worked flawlessly. I had it set up, with the load off of the adjusting bolt in minutes. Then after I took load off of the clamp, it took a little longer getting the stock keys free from the torsion bar. Then the new keys went in with ease. I'm very satisfied with this purchase. Some of the reviews I read said that the tool bent or broke, the only way this could happen is if you don't raise the front end, and if you don't know to do this, you probably don't need to be doing this job.

Great for a Chevy tahoe z71
Work great on a z71 Chevy tahoe . My guess on how people bend theirs on removing is they didn't lift the front end until tires were off ground so a lot of weight was on the torsion bars/keys . would recommend PB blasting the keys an hour or so before using the tool also don't forget to lube up the threads on the tool

Use improperly will damage tool.
Worked as it should. You need to lift the front end to use the tool. If not you will damaged the tool and not being use as design.
