I'm a big user of pressure cookers. This will be my 3rd. My first was an antique. I upgraded to a famous Swiss design that is good but has a couple breakable doo-dads that are frustrating. The Cuisinart I think will now be my go-to cooker. It's very heavy duty, simple to use, and a very safe design. It's an excellent method to use for quick and tasty cooking. I'm a big fan of roasts and sauerbraten which this cooks to perfection. Often I don't add my veggies until later in the cooking process to keep them from getting too mushy. To interrupt the process and open the lid requires running the pot under cold water until the pressure releases: you'll hear it. I add the veg and in to time it's back on the stove and up to pressure, again. It's pretty simple to clean but does require more attention than a regular pot. I couldn't be happier.

My wife, who previously used an electric instapot pressure cooker, is very impressed with how quickly this pressure cooker gets up to steam on our gas range - much quicker than the instapot. Not being programmable, it requires more attention than an electric pressure cooker, but there isn't a long waiting period for it to come up to pressure. And if you need to open it and then resume cooking, it gets back up to pressure almost immediately. She was able to cook a large cauliflower in four minutes. It had nice safety features and holds a substantial amount of food. She also likes the locking mechanism that lets her remove and replace the lid with one hand. It cleans up easily and looks great. I suspect it may take a little longer on an electric stovetop, but it works wonderfully on a gas range.

I am already a big fan of Cuisinart but I have to say this pressure cooker is a thing of beauty! First off, the finish is beautiful and so professional. Then you go to pick it up and wow this is heavy duty and well-made. The locking mechanism is dead simple to use and the pressure valve locks into place so you don’t have to worry about losing pieces. A pressure cooker is the closest thing we have to a time machine as under pressure you achieve higher tempuratures and pound in flavor. You will love this as much as I do and you’ll be on your way to restaurant quality Osso Bucco, Lamb Shanks or thousands of other dishes. Bon Appetit!

Wonderful heavy duty pressure cooker. The bottom is thick so food will cook evenly and not stick. It's also induction ready, which I love. It doesn't come with a lid other that the pc lid, but I have a kitchenaid lid that fits it, making it great for a regular heavy duty stock pot also. The lid is brilliant, brilliant! I have another pressure cooker with the same type of lid, game changer. The old lids had to be lined up perfectly and could be an absolute nightmare to get on, especially if you had sauteed or brought food to a boil and are struggling to get this monster lid lined up just perfectly, so finicky! The new type lid you plop on, twist the lid, the sides tighten and snap on, so easy! The pressure settings are black on black, under the lid.. don't love that but it's not enough to ding this pressure cooker either. The pressure cooker came quickly to temp, made a wonderful pot of beans, a great jerk chicken, and terrific steamed fish. This is a lovely pot that will last for years and years. Their is a mistake in the product description which says it weighs 3 lbs, the shipping weight is 11, which is more accurate. This is one heavy pot.

A nice old school pressure pot to use on the stove. Nice finish, handle's easy to use, easy pressure relief. Pre-Instapot pressure pot, and it works great.

No they don't make them like they used to, but this one is actually much better. I am glad to be able to say that. In today's disposable everything world it is nice to see a good quality product that looks like it was made to last. I also like others, find the lid design to be great. So easy to put on and take off. A much better design for sure. Yes, the bottom is thick and foods cook evenly without burning or scorching (most of the time!). Easy to clean. I like this one. It is not really a bad price either for what you are getting. I think it is actually a good value.
