Note that this takes a while to get used to. The sides are nice to handle. It has lots of adjustability. The phone holder is spring loaded and fits a phone a bit larger than an iPhone X about 3" while the regular version of Ulanzi U Rig can fit a 4 3/8" phone(not spring loaded). For this one, you have to pull the spring loaded thing from the back. Otherwise it can be an issue trying to get a phone in there, like me today, trying to get in an iPhone 6 with a morphie case pulling it up from the front - didn't work. The case was too thick and the spring loading mechanism will fight you. I almost think the regular version is better unless you don't have a thick phone/case and need more adjustability and like the stability/higher quality of this case over the regular one.

I’m very satisfied this smartphone camera rig. Barely fit with Samsung Galaxy Note 8 smartphone case, much easier without the case and filming so better. Can’t wait making the first movie...

It may be difficult to see from the photos, but I have this mounted on a shoulder support that goes over one shoulder and the lower arm rests upon your belly area which makes for outstanding stability..... (Which can also be found here for sale on Amazon). The shoulder support was very hard and uncomfortable, so I attached a faux sheepskin cover and that really helped with the comfort issue. Once attached, this rig allows for amazing stability whether I am shooting live, or still shots. I would go as far to say that this has better stability and is easier to control than any of the gimbals that I have used in the past. Also, with the shoulder support, it allows me to not have to use the grip handles all of the time because I can hold onto the lower portion of the shoulder support that is lower and closer to my body and it gives me just as much control as if I am holding the grip handles....this also helps with fatigue, as it is not necessary for me to have my arms held up so high for extended periods of time. I have an iPhone in the pictures but am actually using the Galaxy note 9 for shooting. I wanted to use the galaxy for the photo review, so I couldn't do both at the same time as I was using it for the photos posted here...in the near future I will use the 1/4 inch connectors to add an led lamp, and external microphone. I will also be mounting a 3 way tripod head between the phone mount and the shoulder support to give me total flexibility with angles. I have a portable external battery backup that I can throw in my gear backpack which will charge my note 9 approximately 10 times without a recharge, so I will be able to shoot all day at outdoor concerts, events and festivals. While this setup won't be ideal for everyone, it suits my needs perfectly and I reccomend the mount for anyone that is looking for an easy way to add stability to their photo/video needs.

Like many others, I've ditched my goofy DSLR and use my smartphone's camera to shoot a lot of video. Sure, it doesn't have the glass, but for most shoots, it doesn't matter. Rather than loosely hold a mic and lights, this Ulanzi thing solves a lot of problems. It's plastic. It probably won't survive a six-foot drop. But for $20, you can afford to buy two and still save money over the expensive on advertised on Facebook. Screwed right into my Bogen tripods, and my Takstar mic slid right in the top bracket. Spring is pretty strong and the rubber bushings will hold your phone securely. My only issue was I cannot mount my phone with a case on it - it's designed to hold your slim phone only. That could present a problem if you like to keep your phone pristine and you're prone to drops. Otherwise, this thing rocks. Two months in, seven full-day location shoots, and it's still like new.

This is perfect. There are plenty of mounts for microphone, light, etc and the screw holes allow easy horizontal or vertical attachment to a tripod or selfie stick. I use an iphone 7 plus with an attachable wide angle lens and microphone and it works great for that. Go for the u Rig Pro because you never know when you might need the extra mounts and it's comfortable to hold but still light weight for use with one hand. Super pleased with it.

Works great with an iPhone 8 Plus without case. Works with case but not as good due to “V” shape of rubber pads. Holds so secure that a case is unnecessary. I use with a Takstar SGC-598 mic and mount to a tripod. I used a level to check the holder and the iPhone built in level to verify. I was pleasantly surprised to see the phone mounted perfectly level in the holder. Super sturdy and multiple cold shoe mounts allow you to mount the mic over the camera lense so you are looking and talking to the same location. Makes a nice visual cue to make sure you are looking at the lense.

Whether you want to shoot a film, mobile vlog, or have a stable setup for video calls, this this the rig for you. I have it setup with my samsung s8, Rode VideoMic Pro (with phone connection cable), LED light with swivel (vlog vs filming forward), and Joby tripod (the stand tool for every vlogger). This rig has enough hotshoes for a third item if I wanted and I can mount the rig vertically and horizontally which is great for vertical social media formats. Its durable and made well so it will last forever if you take care of it. The only con is that it is rather large in size so you can't causally carry it on you and use it in the spur of the moment. One thing I may add is a padded gripping around the handles to reduce vibrations even more.

I got this rig for use with an iPhone, doing social media sideline reporting for a racing series. I use it with two small LED lights on top (using the cold shoe mounts) and a witeless mic receiver mounted in the bottom with a cell phone grip (using the threaded socket). With that setup, I get very clean, well-lit video and audio from a wireless mic. This rig is lightweight, easy to use, and durable — I have traveled with it in a backpack and taken it all over race tracks and in the pits, and I haven’t had a single issue. The only issue is if you have a thick case on your phone, the rubber grip may not wrap around the edge and provide a secure fit. Otherwise, the clamp licks down tightly with a thumb screw and holds very well.

Nice phone camera rig! I really like that there’s multiple threads on all sides to allow mounting on a tripod/monopod for vertical and horizontal video. The clamp is nice and keeps the phone secure, Rode microphone threads right on to the cold shoe mount for a fully functional mobile or static camera rig!

Great product, lots of places to mount microphones, lighting or other things like a GoPro, I really like it and will use it for my YouTube video production, I want to add to my review, I built a new rig for my iPhone, and Incase you wondering if 2 big lights will fit, that are rechargeable, you can clearly see they do, you will just need to buy extra parts to mount 2 new Mounting brackets, I did make a video how I set it up, it will be posted this week to my youtube channel, if you want to build a rig like mine check out my YouTube Check our my Channel and please Subscribe to ZIMALETA How To Show & Unboxing I love technology and I love gear
