I bought this for my 8 year olds Christmas present. I ordered this the last week of October (was pre-ordered none were in stock at the moment) said it would arrive by December 12th. So I was excited that he would have it by Christmas. But sadly I received a email saying that it was out of stock again,Finally received it January 7th. The montessaurus is my son's favorite dinosaur in the Jurassic World movies, So I knew this toy would be perfect. This thing is huge, like other reviewers said. You will have to assemble it together, the pieces snap in pretty easy (but an adult will have to do it) not easy enough for a child. It's not a hard plastic toy there is some softness to it, The mouth opens and closes. Ive seen some people ask if I can go in the water, we have not tried it yet, but from what i can tell I dont see why not.

This Mosasaurus is 28 INCHES in length!

This Mosasaurus is huge. It is 28 inches long, and its jaw can open really wide. Unlike the Super Colossal Tyrannosaurus rex from this toy line, it can't swallow figures or mini dinosaurs. But you can hold 1 figure in the jaws, and close them, since there is room. It is hollow in the stomach region, and is quite soft and rubbery. It doesn't need batteries, and it is waterproof. You can play with this figure in the swimming pool, and reenact scenes from Jurassic World. Overall, this Mosasaurus toy is incredibly detailed, and I would recommend this to any fan of prehistoric marine reptiles or Jurassic World fans, or even dinosaur fans.

Impressive size replica

This is exactly what I wanted. a BIG Mosasaurus replica. Love it. Look forward to having it in my office :) If you are looking for one of these after being inspired by "Jurassic World", this is the one to get.

It’s so huge!

This review is for the Mosasaurus. The material is mosty made of flexible rubber (entire body). Almost 98% of it. Flippers and the lower jaw are the only part that’s made of plastic. All flippers are rotatable. One thing is for sure, my son really loves it due to its enormous size! He goes to bed with it, watch TV with it, eats with it and goes to the pool with it. It was a graduation gift and it was perfect. He can’t stop thinking about it the moment he saw the film. He really loves dinos so it’s a good thing Amazon has it on stock. Just take note while attaching those flippers, one of it I have to use a bit force cause it’s kinda hard to snap on. Try not to use excessive force though cause once the notch that locks the flipper in place breaks, there’s no turning back.

Huge and awesome. My 7 yr old was super excited with this. Great quality. Textured feel and it’s huge. Super cool toy for any Dino fan. Buy it, they will absolutely love it! Mouth opens wide and very realistic look. Easy to assemble fins and tail. 7 yr old put together in a few minutes. Stays put together without falling apart.

Phenomenal!

This thing is gigantic, well detailed, and absolutely stunning! It is the ultimate collector’s piece for fans, and the ultimate toy for kids. All four flippers are articulated, as are the massive jaws! It’s also bathtub safe, so there’s no danger in letting your child take his/her new toy into the tub or pool.

awesome looking toy

This reminds me of the 1993 Kenner Red Rex, soft and squishy to the touch compared to the solid plastic models hasbro was putting out for so long. Highly collectible and very detailed, awesome looking toy.

This thing is huge!

I bought this for my nephew for his birthday. I initially thought that $30 was ridiculous for a plastic toy that doesn't make noises or anything, but I bought it anyways because this is the one thing my nephew asked for. I just received it in the mail yesterday, and I see now why it costs so much! This thing is huge! It's over 2 feet long tip to tip once fully assembled! That's almost as tall as my nephew, so I'm sure he will love it! lol It's pretty cool how the fins articulate, as you can put him in different poses. You can also open and shut his mouth, which the kids will love. I'm happy with my purchase, and I'm sure my nephew will be as well!

Dont like it, you simply hate terrifying aquatic reptiles

This is the best Mosasaur toy i have ever seen, and one of the coolest creatures to ever grace the Jurassic toys. But disclaimer it is NOT intended for water use. This toy is big and to scale of what a typical Mosasaur would grow in comparison to the rest of the Mattel line. But would need to be 5ft+ long to compare to the movie. As it sits its about 2 1/2ft. Big, but not super colossal trex size. Good size for play, but i wouldnt complain if there was a super colossal mosasaurus that eats hasbros Jurassic toys to never be seen again. Out of the box you will need to install the fins and tail. The fins move in multiple directions, but the tail is fixed unfortunately. The fins are tough enough to hold its weight. There are no "action" functions or sounds. Simple mouth open close. The hard rubber "skin" seems durable; the toy is well painted and detailed. With the exception of its eyes that are a simple pastel with pupil. It even has details on the roof of its mouth. This is a simple big toy. Looks cool and is priced right at $30. For a kid this thing is great just the right size; for an adult who wants a model or collects because they refuse to grow up its very good too. Cant lie, i bought for my boys but i "slightly" want it too. I can see why this thing keeps selling out. Mattel is making toys kids and adults alike actually want. Even the box shows it eating a shark like the movie. Such great attention detail.

EXCELLENT packaging. Arrived earlier than expected. BIGGER than I thought and I wear a 14 size shoe. This thing is bigger than both shoes line up back to back. Mouth opens and closes, fins are moveable. LOVE my Mosasaurus!
