• In addition to the primary seed collection and booklet, you get 8 COCONUT coir seed starting pellets.
  • Make seed starting easy! Coconut pellets expand 10 TIMES FASTER than peat and are TWICE AS LARGE. Just add hot water. It’s that simple. Comes with a link to an instructional video.
  • Less MOLD GROWTH than peat pellets. ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY.
  • UNLIKE peat, COCONUT coir (husk) is a renewable product left over from the coconut industry. It is NOT MINED like peat is, therefore, it does NOT destroy precious wetlands.
  • SUPER EASY to start your seeds in! Simply plant the ENTIRE THING into your garden, or larger pot, when ready! NO PLANT STRESS!

Purchased these for my pallet herb garden. I was a bit worried when the instructions said to seed these indoors, but I went agead and planted them in their pots and hung them on the pallet. They are growing beautifully with minimal work on my part! I planted all the varieties, and they have all come up. Rosemary was the last to bloom. There are plenty of seeds in the package (for trial and error). I would recommend to anyone. See my photos!

I decided to start an herb garden because I wanted fresh herbs for when I cook. Each type of seed comes in its own individual packet and is placed inside a larger envelop. I like this because it makes it easier to store the seeds; they are all in one place and the packaging can fit in smaller/tighter spaces. The packaging says the seeds will last 5 to 7 years. It also includes a booklet with detailed instructions about planting and taking care of the herbs. As someone who does not know much about gardening, this was very useful to me. I do not have a green thumb, but following the instructions has worked so far. There are instructions on each seed packet as well. About two weeks ago, I planted 8 out of the 10 herbs -- Basil, Chives, Rosemary, Thyme, Lavender, Oregano, Dill, and Cilantro. So far, everything but the Lavender and Rosemary have sprouted. I am not too concerned as the Lavender takes the longest to sprout and I may have over-watered the Rosemary (oops!). The herbs are in four inch pots and seem to be doing okay. I look forward to seeing how they turn out!

I got these seeds for my sister for her summer garden. She was really impressed by the variety of seeds and the direction cards. She is planning to plant about ten different types of vegetables this summer. I will harvest the seeds and place them in a brown paper bag for next year. We will save the unused seeds for the future. I was looking for Non-GMO seeds after learning more about the GMO seeds. From now on, this is all we will buy.

Package we best I have ever seen. I have been gardening for 72 years. Very good instruction for planting, Soil requirement, and harvesting. Also how to save seeds. Very happy gardener!

Update 7/14/17 - I am on my 3rd batch of cuttings (in 3 months) of both the oregano and basil. These plants grow like weeds! Just simply take a few cuttings off the main plant and root them in water. You'll have several plants constantly growing and fortunately, these grow indoors during the cold season as well! Added more pictures. I bought the vegetable seeds also from this company (that are also doing great by the way!) so I thought I'd try the herbs as I prefer to use fresh rather than store bought dried. I started out just planting the oregano and basil and they grew very quickly! Last week I planted a few more and they are already starting to sprout as well. We love cooking with fresh vegetables and herbs and I would highly recommend this product!

So far all of the seeds that I have planted have harvested, most with high germination rates as well. The basil, chives, and dill all had very high germination rates. The basil grows like crazy and is excellent. I have other herbs sprouting at the moment as well. The fact that it is self sustainable and that the booklet it comes with teaches you how to obtain seeds from each of your harvested plant's is really great. For the price this absolutely can not be beat. At most stores a pack of basil seeds alone will run you around $3 while this has around 2,700 seeds of different varieties and is again, self sustainable, so you can keep reusing the seeds year after year all of which are non GMO. Highly recommended 5/5

Wonderful collection of seeds. Came up with in a week's time. Very pleased.

As a gardening novice, I decided to make a kitchen herb garden. I set my standards high. My requirements were a selection of non-GMO, organic culinary herbs that I use most often in cooking. I searched until I found an assortment of herbs I commonly use in cooking. The Sustainable Seed Company offered a nice selection at a fair price. The Planters Pride Greenhouse Kit I purchased has ten packets of seeds, and 20 pellets to get the plants started in a nice little greenhouse tray. The kit provided a very nice selection, basil, chives, cilantro (coriander), dill, oregano, parsley, rosemary, sage and thyme. It also included lavender, which I have no experience with as a culinary flavor. A little research tells me it’s most commonly used in desserts, but has some savory uses, too, especially for lamb. I’m not likely to use it soon, but it will make a fragrant addition to my yard. The Sustainable Seed Company shipped my order quickly. I had many questions as I opened The Greenhouse Kit. My questions were answered in the materials, especially with the little “Seed 2 Fork Herb Planting Guide,” a Sustainable Seed Company booklet which includes the growing needs, and instructions for seed starting, harvesting and saving the seeds for each plant. Some sections have one or two recipes. There is a page dedicated to germination testing tips, and a final “At-a-Glance” chart—a great encapsulated education for the novice like me. I checked out their website and found a really nice selection of books and guides for sale. I intend to explore that more. Overall, I am pleasantly impressed by the service, selection, the packaging and the materials from the Sustainable Seed Company. It’s exactly what I wanted. I’m just beginning my new kitchen herb gardening venture and have not yet started the seeds. I plan to carefully follow the recommendations. I’ll update my review at a later date. Wish me luck!

Hi. Looking forward to the Zen of a garden. Need to move around and do more activity after the hospital. What can be better. Just trying to set it up so I can use a chair. An added incentive is that living things are dependent on my level of commitment, as was my Malamute, and I get ashamed at not keeping up. (Damn Catholic nuns!) What a guilt trip. All in fun, give a prayer. TX Steve.

I'm probably just a terrible seed mom. I planted all seeds indoors (in a sunny area) in little jars with potting soil, and then threw the rest of the seeds haphazardly into a raised flower bed. I tended the jarred seeds every day, watering them, talking to them, checking on them to see if they've grown every couple of hours... most germinated but for whatever reason ended up dying a few days later. However the seeds that I didn't tend at all that are in the raised flower bed grew with no issue and are still alive and well. Ouch. There goes my ego. So if you know what you are doing, I'm sure these seeds will grow great indoors. I'm just too novice. For now I will stick to buying already grown plants from the store and replanting them. :)
