This is a no-frills kit for an excellent price. I used it replace a switch in a halogen lamp I was rewiring. The price was too good to pass up so I took a chance & I'm glad I did. Good for basic soldering; everything you need including tips, solder sucker (which worked great), and solde (the stand it comes with is a chintzy joke). If you do electronics as a hobby, I suggest spend an additional four dollars to a kit such as https://www.amazon.com/ETEPON-Adjustable-Temperature-Desoldering-ET001/dp/B07BS6VN9H because it has a stand, wirestrippers and a case. Pro Cheap, does the job, good for basic ocassional use Con Doesnt include stand, wire strippers or case.

I had a problem with my computer laptop battery charging cable. I bought a new cable but still had to keep turning and "finding the right spot". I looked at some You Tubes and found that the little inside hub could e the problem. I took the back off of my computer and sure enough the wires that connect the battery had an unattached one. Repairs shops wanted significant money to repair and I just did not feel comfortable leaving all of my info in their hands...sorry. I purchased this little soldering kit, did a few practice runs to see how it works and ....soldered the lose wire and computer is good as new. Never used something like this and it was easy. Saved money and fixed i well.

Used them to solder a pair of headphones that had a wire come apart. They made my day. First time using a soldering iron and found them easy and simple to use.

Heats up much faster than most other soldering irons I've used and is a great value considering it comes with some free solder (enough for a couple small-medium PCBs) and spare tips of different types. I only care about the fine tips so I ordered a 10 pack of these hollow tips on Amazon as well (they were listed as 900M-T-B tips as replacements for Hakko, Radio Shack, etc.) and they fit right onto this soldering iron so that when the tips wear out, it's very easy and cheap to replace them. Seems like a good product at a very good price so far.

I purchased my first soldering iron many years ago. It was bulky, expensive and slow to heat up. I got the LDK Soldering Iron and it exceeded my expectations. The kit came with rosin-core solder, forceps, 5 different tips, and a little stand. My only suggestion would be to add better illustrated instructions. Very perplexing was the inclusion of a device I later learned was a "Solder sucker." The price was very reasonable. The forceps/tweezers alone would have cost over $5. Highly recommended. Oh, I used the soldering iron to attach wires to alligator clips so I could teach my grandson about circuits. He smiled when he recognized whey they were called alligator clips.

An excellent soldering iron, and even better customer support. I had a problem with the soldering tip, but LDK promptly made things right. I now have a top-quality soldering iron for precise soldering through-hole PCBs. LDK went beyond what was necessary to make me happy. I will definitely buy from them again.

I soldered for the first time on a Toyota Highlander temp control circuit board. For $ 12 you can't beat it. I saved $1,000 by not having Toyota fix it. However, flux is the key to a good job. The kit should include a small jar or tube of flux for us one-time users. I used some old plumbers copper pipe flux I had and it did OK.

The soldering iron 60W adjustable kit was very good and works very well. The extra tips that are included make what ever job you need to do easy. Note I retired my other iron do to poor performance. I may have to order additional tips when the primary ones ware done.

I purchased this kit for a middle school student. I refurbish and resell electronics. He showed an interest and I could use some help from time to time. Mainly he is removing components from "parts" units for now. I obviously did not want to invest in something extravagant for someone his age just in case he decides it's not for him. I am very impressed so far. I DO NOT recommend using the supplied "stand". It's junk. (Anyone who solders knows that without having to actually confirm it). The temperature setting on it is definitely not accurate but what the hell do you expect for this price? The screwdriver is also junk but again, consider the price. If you are someone that likes to "tinker" but doesn't solder everyday then it will work great for you. If you are trying to teach someone as I am doing, its perfect. If you are experienced in soldering but you are also broke, this would be perfect for you! If you tin your tips properly and shut it off when not in use you will get every penny out of it and then some. The only gripe I have is that it doesn't come with solder wick. Is it a Hakko, Weller, or Pace iron? NO! But neither is the price!

(Check Updated Section below) Got about 5 uses out of it before it just stopped working. Further investigation found that the ceramic heating element somehow chipped away and would no longer heat up. UPDATE: LDK has phenomenal customer service. I received a brand new kit from them in the mail without even asking. I believe i just got a defective unit to begin with. I am changing my review to 5 stars for their outstanding effort.
