I did not purchase these for babies, I purchased them for my cat's LOL yes you read that right, I wanted them to use for inside their cat house, to make it a little bit more comfortable when they lie down. And they also have a couple cat beds and I tucked them inside the cat beds so the cat beds don't collect as much hair! And as you can see depicted in the photo, I cover my cat up a little bit when it's a little bit cool in here from the air conditioner! These wash up super super good!! I actually said if I had children I would purchase these! And I haven't even mentioned the patterns on these are absolutely adorable!!!

I have about a million burp cloths (or receiving blankets, swaddles, spit up rags, whatever you want to call them) that all vary slightly in quality, size, thickness, etc. I saw several reviews complaining that these are cheap and ended up being used as rags. I'm not sure what those reviewers were expecting. These aren't "blankets" in the traditional sense, they're similar to the receiving blankets in the hospital that get used for swaddling and cleaning up spit up. We don't use these for swaddling cause we're bad at it, we just use velcro swaddles. Although you certainly could. Ours get used for spit up, laying out bottles and pump materials and the like, laying baby down on surfaces when needed, covering her while in the carseat or while feeding or while at appointments, etc. The list goes on and on and we go through about a dozen a day. These ones just happen to be slightly softer, sturdier, and larger than many of the other ones we have. Also they're super cute. And you get seven of them! Great buy.

The blankets will be very helpful in transporting our three cats to our new home.

I don't know if anyone has priced receiving blankets lately, but the costs are ridiculous. After shopping around, my daughter and I decided to check amazon. We were amazed at the deal we got. I ordered 2 packs, she washed them, and they are the softest little blankets around. Plus its is the Carter's brand. I highly recommend. Sign me first time Grandma.

Quite soft when washed with dreft. Colors are beautiful and the size is regular.

for 40 years I have been buying Carter's receiving blankets. I usually will match two together (back to back) chain stitch all around with a color matching baby yarn then crochet around that. I have probably made +100 gifts for friends, family and coworkers babies. I LOVE the durability of Carter's blankets. The prints are always fun and again the quality is always good. Folks tell me their now college age kids still have them!

These have such a cute design! They are simple and durable blankets and a good staple to have for baby, they are compact and you can carry them in the diaper bag without it taking up much space. Stains come out easy, they don't seem to fade/shrink in the wash. Used these a lot as burp cloths (also recommend getting a pack of cloth diapers as burp cloths!) For swaddling, I strongly suggest getting a safe swaddle such as a halo or a swaddle me, etc.

My one month old tends to spit up quite a bit and these blankets have become a HUGE help in saving furniture, shirts, and everything else from the splash damage. We also use them as blankets to go underneath her to protect other surfaces and, of course, as just regular blankets too (though for that purpose they're a bit stiff). The price is fantastic and I actually ended up buying another set so that we could keep them around the house (I honestly would love to buy one more just to trim back on the frequency of doing laundry but that's a bit of an overkill). The price is amazing for the quality - they have been washed daily for the past month - the breastfed spit up comes out like a charm and they're really resilient. Such a good purchase for this first time mom!!

I think I've bought these about 4 or 5 times, I really find them useful for taking care of sick/injured cats/kittens, & taking care of bottle fed kittens, (& healthy newborns too!) These aren't super thick, or plush, but I wouldn't want to wipe up kitten formula with something really nice, or have vomit, diarrhea, blood, or "whatever", all over my finest towels & linens. (Btw Flannel is much better than using towels because kitten claws, which aren't retractable yet, easily get stuck in the tiny terry cloth loops.) I noticed the printed one's are slightly rougher feeling & a tiny bit thinner than the plain blankets, but that goes away after laundering. The edges have a few loose threads & weird puckering after washing too, but like I said before, they serve their purpose well, & their job isn't to look perfect. They are very durable and you'll be surprised just how convenient these are to have around the house!!😉
