Great Hood With Easy Installation

We finally got tired of the anemic suction of an over the range microwave and bought our first real range hood. So far we are absolutely loving it. Installation went really smoothly. I had to install new 6" ducting which was the hard part. Since the range hood is pretty light, it made hanging it a one person job. Not sure if I would ever want to hang an 80 lb hood like some of them weigh. Performance is amazing. We run it on medium fan, which is very powerful. Never needed high yet. The hood only extends over a little more than half of the front burner, yet the steam/smoke curves up into the hood. No more greasy floors! It definitely is loud but that's the nature of small high cfm fans. No worse than the microwave fan. The stainless hood and chimney are gorgeous! Looks so much more open now in comparison to the cluttered look of an over the range microwave hanging from a cabinet. Also must say that customer service is very responsive. They respond to emails in a timely fashion.

Great performance and quality

I installed the hood myself. It is pretty heavy, so I had to put a reinforcement in the wall. The hood comes with a regular plug which did not work for me and I had to cut the power cord. I think attachable plug would be a more universal solution. It's been 4 weeks since I installed it and I like it so far. The hood's motors (dual motor) are very powerful. the hood has 3-speed modes: the max mode is very performant but makes a lot of noise, so it is basically impossible to talk while it is turned on. Regularly I use it on the lowest speed and it is enough almost always. The lights are very bright Some negative: You better to not touch it anywhere but the sensor panel, otherwise fingerprints would be everywhere. I did struggle using the sensor panel to start\stop the hood but eventually got used to it. Previously I ordered an under cabinet hood (it was damaged so I had to return it) made by Chef, and that model had aluminum fan blades and covers. But in this model, they are made from plastic. I do not think it makes any difference in performance but they looked more sturdy. Overall, my experience is positive and I would recommend as an alternative to other more expensive hoods.

Great Hood, Easy to install looks great!!!

Delivered in a timely manner, super easy to install and looks great. Top speed of vent is loud and if not vented out, you will need to purchase a carbon filter... separately. The lights are bright BUT one has a loose connection and had to figure out the issue. Highly recommend.

Strong blower

This range hood is so elegant. My wife loved it SOOO MUCH. The black glass panel creates a nice contrast against my white cabinets. The single blower is very strong and it took out all smoke and smell for us.

My wife bought this hood for our new kitchen. I was skeptical about the hood since it is a bit more expensive than the others but it didn't let us down. Perfect!

After updating our kitchen, we needed a new hood range. We researched styles, brands, etc. for weeks and finally decided on the Chef. Was delivered in perfect condition within 2 days. Installation was easy, but we had to use a 7" to 6" reducer on the duct work. We made a few minor adjustments for our scenario...we hard wired it and used toggle bolts on the brackets for more stability. The Chef range hood is easy to install, use and it is modern and classy looking. The Amazon site described it as 750 CFM, but the booklet said it was 300 CFM. We contacted Chef to clarify this discrepancy and they confirmed the booklet was misprinted...it is 750 CFM. Love it!
