• Test the car brake fluid quality quickly to check whether it’s qualified, which can remind you to change the brake fluid when necessary to avoid traffic accident
  • The LED indicators will show percentage of water in the brake fluid with 3 colors green yellow and red
  • Calibrated for cars using DOT4 and DOT3 brake fluids (But DOT3 is almost replaced by DOT4 because DOT4 has better performance)
  • Only takes seconds to know the results, very easy to use
  • CE and RoHS approved. Protective cap included.Takes 1 x AAA/1.5V battery (not included)

Contrary to what others have said, the brake fluid tester works just as expected. Based on comments, I tested it with new brake fluid, brake fluid recently changed, and brake fluid that was 2 1/2 years old (6 months overdue). The new stuff showed 0% moisture, the recently changed showed in the green (1%), and the 2 1/2 year old fluid was full-out red (>4%). I changed the old stuff the next day using Pentosin Super DOT 4 and the new reading was (0%). Lastly, because the instructions say to rinse the probes with water afterwards, I checked it with straight water and it read >4%. I have no reason to believe this is inaccurate or malfunctioning.

AAA claimed they changed the brake fluid but a couple of red flags including the tinted fluid in the reservoir had me wondering if it was actually changed or not. My new ITEQ Brake fluid Liquid tester pen proved I was correct. Went back to the shop and showed them.

Works as described. I used this tester pen on some old, used DOT4 brake fluid that's been sitting in the garage for a few years, and it showed 3% water in the fluid. I also used the tester pen on brake fluid in two cars. Both had their brake fluid changed about two years ago, and the tester showed 1%, which is about where I would have expected.

Im an automotive technician and i use this to test brake fluid condition on every car i work on. It eliminates the guess work and helps sell more brake fluid flushes. Its a must have if your in this type of field.

I bench tested this under several conditions and it worked exactly as it ought. I will trust it to tell me when to change my fluid from now on rather than the "every 2 year" rule! The print didn't come off when wiping brake fluid off it.

Ok. So I tested the product against brand new fluid, 1 year old fluid and 3 year old fluid. The device has shown the light accordingly with <0% for new, <1% for year old fluid and <2% for 3 year old. That being said, I noticed that the tester does not work if you dip it past the two metal prongs and the liquid touches the plastic. It seems like it grounds out or shorts the impedance of the metal gap throwing off the reading. So.... Make sure only the metal prongs touch the fluid for an accurate reading.

Needed to test the Dot 3 brake fluid in a 2003 Jeep Liberty that had the fluid changed a 4 years ago. Recently had to replace a brake hose, which broke during a strut and lower control arm repair. Had to bleed that line and replenish with a small amount of brake fluid. Used this tester to check for water in the reservoir a week after the repair. It showed less than <1%. So I tested the brake fluid in a 2014 Toyota Tacoma, still with the original fluid. The tester showed <1%. Both vehicles have good sealing caps on their reservoirs, and are never opened. So I believe the readings to be true. While rinsing the tester with water, I pressed the on button and all the leds lit up 4%. So I am confident in the tester's accuracy. Saved me from unnecessary flush and replace.

I have 4 brake fluid testers. $125 MAC tool one reads water at 4% and they say that's right. Have the three of your testers and they all read the same. Two different kinds.for the fraction of the MAC.

Just received this and used it on my car that had a brake fluid change indicator light on. Tested the fluid and it read 0% water. I confirmed the tester was accurate by putting a little bit of water in some fresh fluid and it read off the chart for moisture. This is a handy tool that saved me the pain of bleeding brakes or taking the car to a shop for brake fluid change. Very happy with this tool! Highly recommended!

Works great have compared it to the test fluid strips we used to use and it's much cheaper than spending $40 for a pack of 100 strips. we do a lot of brake fluid test with all the used vehicles we see coming threw the shop and this thing is perfect for my needs.
