Great for 1 qt jars!
I started fermenting my own sauerkraut/beet combo. Ended up using 1 qt jars, as they are more convenient for small batches/storage, rather than 2 qt. Unfortunately most of the tips of putting another smaller jar, or object, are recommendations for when using 2 qt or larger jars. After fumbling around with a rigged up smaller lid, and some saran wrapped rocks...I quickly found these on Amazon and purchased them. Best thing I could have done! They are the perfect size for 1 qt, were easy to clean and then put right into the jars. There is a small grip handle in the middle of the puck. It works well, but I am unsure how easy it will be to use once things are finished fermenting and it is time to take it out. We'll see! Any easy 5/5 product.

Great quality, design, and value.
Great quality and good design of Glass Weights for Fermentation. Like the handle to press down and remove lid from mason jars. Very good quality and value for price. Very pleased with purchase.

Excellent quality. Nicely designed.
I use these weights along with the Easy Fermenter Wide Mouth Lids. Easy Fermenter Wide Mouth Lid Kit: Simplified Fermenting In Jars Not Crock Pots! Make Sauerkraut, Kimchi, Pickles Or Any Fermented Probiotic Foods. 3 Lids, Extractor Pump & Recipe eBook - Mold Free It’s a very nice set up which makes fermenting trouble free. I drop in the weights, screw on the lids and in a few weeks the vegetables are nicely fermented and ready to eat. The handles/grips which are recessed into the lid makes removal easy without taking up more of the valuable vertical space inside the jar.

Where have these been??
I have been making fermenting cabbage and other veggies for years and have made my own "weights" to keep the veggies below the juice. It can be hit and miss - until I found these fantastic weights. The shape is perfect for the wide mouth jars - and the "handle" in the center makes it so easy to get out of the jar. I have given weights to friends and they love them. Great quality and good price. A Must Have for fermenting!!

Fermentation weights
Package was secure. Glass was not broken or chipped. Little handle is not great but easy to grab when in the jars.

Excellent Product! Highly Recommended!
Excellent Product! Highly Recommended! I got them to make lacto-fermented sauerkraut. They're great! I would recommend that you not fill quart jars too full if you're getting them for sauerkraut. Leave about a half-inch of space from the top of the weight to the top of the jar, otherwise, the liquid will bubble out. Put a saucer under each jar as well to avoid liquid running out onto your counters.

A great addition to my fermenting hobby
This was my first set of fermenting weights and I am really glad that I got them. They fit well into a wide mouth canning jar and have a reasonable weight to it to hold the veggies under the brine. Having the handle to lift them out is a nice touch. I accidentally put it in upside down once and had a dickens of a time getting it out. Glad I didn't get the hockey-puck looking weights. I would have had to do that every time. The only downside is that if the ferment is a bit slippery, it can be hard to get a grip on the knob.

Favorite tool for fermenting & pickling
These glass weights work as advertised. There are small indentions in the center handle that allow you to grip it to pull it out. I have average-sized women’s hands and I find it easy to grip when the weight is dry but it’s hard to grip when wet. It’s still easy to get the weight out when wet, I just push it firm against the side of the jar for leverage. They’re all glass and while they’re not particularly heavy, they do the job. I made sun pickles without them and had to throw away the top few that floated above the brine. I haven’t thrown any away since using these. I have two other containers specifically crafted for fermenting vegetables but my mason jars with these weights is my go-to choice.
