It includes everything you need to get going (aside from the testing solution, but it's not needed unless you feel it's not reading correctly). I ordered this as I've been doing the ketogenic diet since the beginning of December and want to see how certain foods affect my blood sugar and for how long. I don't see how other options are nearly double the price when this one includes ample supplies! The carrying case is of good quality and is about the size of your hand.

I am very pleased with this product and the vendor. The machine is working great. So easy and convenient to use. Vendor followed up to make sure that I got the product timely, that it was working properly, that I was happy with all the secondary products needed. I do not think I have ever had a vendor that followed up so professionally. Highly recommend the product and the vendor.

Have had many of thee over the years. The micro amount of blood needed for testing, the size of display numbers and the ease of use are all there with this product. The price is as great as the product. I read many reviews and settled on this product. It met or was better than those other reviews. Have not had one error message, and have used for several weeks. The testing device this replaced was very finicky, would error message if strip not in just right and the tab could not be used or re-inserted if you were not ready to test... Not this testing unit, put tab in and was not ready, pulled it out put back in and no problem... Testing strip are fairly priced, you get 100 tabs with this unit. I paid more than the cost of this entire new unit and all included, for 50 test strips locally. It is accurate. Life is hard with diabetes, having an accurate, easy to use and read testing device is necessary. This one is all three. great price to boot!

Excellent product for the price. Do not buy expensive one since they serve the same purpose

This is a great little glucometer for the money. It is lightweight and yet sturdy, it came with enough strips and lancets to last me for at least a month. The Lancet pen has a dial to change the depth of penetration to get either a very light touch or a deeper prick if you don't bleed easily. It has been invaluable to keep track of my blood sugar to help me monitor what I eat and change my lifestyle of eating so that my pre diabetic situation does not become diabetes. It has a smart little carrying case that I can take anywhere. The whole procedure from opening the kit to getting your blood results is sometimes less than a minute. I really recommend this for the beginner who's just needing to monitor like I'm doing. For someone that has to use the meter constantly, I don't know how well it would hold up but I feel comfortable that I got a very good bargain that is doing great things for me. One thing to add, it really is important to get the glucometer control Solutions because it's the only way you can tell if your glucometer is giving you accurate readings. I have not bought that yet and don't know what the price is but it does use two extra glucose strips to check with the high solution of glucose in the low solution of glucose and the meter should give you a reading within the range listed on the control solution bottles. It really is important.

This is my new hobby. I prick my fingers to get my glucose levels. It is fairly inexpensive and I get to see how foods affect my sugar levels. Everyone should get one. I recommend this version. The little ejection button at the bottom is a little odd because I have to eject the strips by pushing from the very back of the slider. It is meant to be pushed from the top but I can't eject them that way. Other than that minor issue, it works great. Easy. Nice small case.

I’m an EMT/Firefighter and bought this to have in my kit. I also use it to test my glucose levels after fasting and eating to see how different diets affect my body. I find this a must have tool for the gym as I’m a gym owner as well as to carry in my medic kit. It’s easy to use. Great solid product!

Lots of complaints here about multiple readings showing different results. These are usually not a problem with the meter, rather they are due to incorrect expectations of the buyer. All glucometers are manufactured using the same worldwide accepted standards. They must be accurate within 15% of the true glucose number 95% of the time and within 20% in 99% of its readings. If you take your reading several times in one minute, all of them will be different, due to the fact that these things are not capable of anything more than a close approximation, generally plus or minus 15-20%. If you did 3 tests and got 80, 90 and 100, those are all WELL WITHIN the accepted standards. Even 80, 100 and 120 would be within the 20% standard. All brands of meters are built to these standards. So take most of the bad reviews (for all brands) with a grain of salt. If your true glucose level is 100, then this (and all other brands) must display a number between 85 and 115 in at least 95% of its readings. And 99% of the results must be in the 80-120 range.

I'm not a diabetic, but I am following a ketogenic diet. I wanted to find out if some of the products I was buying containing malitol were having an effect on my blood sugar, so I bought the testing kit. Well, it did the job (and I found that malitol--despite the claims on the packaging--affects my blood glucose almost as much as sugar does). Anyway, this is a well-designed product that works quickly and effectively. In particular, I liked the carrying case, which enables you to pack everything into one small package. It would be very useful for someone who really needs to carry it around and test themselves several times a day. My only criticism concerns the directions, which were very confusing to someone who has never seen or used a product like this before. I'd recommend that the manufacturer make several changes to make the directions clearer: 1) Please show pictures of the product with the cap on and off (so that we can see where the cap ends). 2) "Unscrew the cap" should be the first direction.Nowhere is it mentioned that the cap unscrews! I spent a long time trying to pull it off! 3) Please make it clearer that inserting the blue plastic part containing needle usually primes the device, but if it doesn't all that is required is pulling back very gently on the very end (this is explained, but not clearly). 4) Please eplain that the part that pops up when the product is primed is the small clear plastic bump on one side. That part is very small, so it's hard to tell by looking whether or not the product is primed, but if you look carefully, you can see that it turns orange when the device is primed. 5) Finally, please make it clearer that it is pressing down on this small plastic bump that operates the device. When I figured out the directions, the kit was very easy to use. It works quickly, gives consistent results, and is reasonably priced.

Nice compact unit, I've been using a different brand that also allowed me to use alternate test sites and I liked it but the test strips were very costly. this Care Touch unit allows alternate test sites and needs less of a blood drop than the other brand and the price of these care touch test strips is MUCH CHEAPER.... My ONLY Complaint is the way the test unit is shaped .... the sides of the unit where you grip it are tapered in at the bottom and very smooth with no place to get a good grip, It constantly popped out of my grip if I squeezed the sides... I FIXED that problem by placing thin strips of textured tape to the sides to give me a grip and no problems since....
