So easy to use it makes me sad...

I'm one of those weirdoes who likes to spend hours and days getting to know my electronics. You know, figuring out every little feature while memorizing how to access the functions I depend on the most on the water. Much to my chagrin, I only got 3 evenings (after work and dinner) worth of learning curve out of this Chart Plotter and a good chunk of that was customizing menus and updating maps and software... Garmin made it way to easy to find and adjust all of the key features on the Echomap. Heck, getting out of the zoom function has been my only challenge after 3 trips and that took all of 2 minutes, while paddling my kayak. The only things I'd change on this unit are: Waterproof connections and a metal retainer for them instead of a plastic retainer. Garmin, are you listening? Long story short, if you like excellent resolution in both standard and downscan sonar, easy to use controls and really detailed maps, I highly recommend the Echomap Plus 64cv. The updated maps alone are worth what I spent on this.
