I bought a truck a few months back and didn't ever think about the locking lug-nut key... until I needed it. After a little online research, I decided to give this a shot. I was surprised by how EASY it was to get them off. (takeaway: locking lug-nuts are a waste of money and an unnecessary hassle). There is a special place in Hell for anyone who would use this tool for the wrong reason, but if you find yourself in a the same predicament as I was in... this tool is a life saver.

A few days ago I rounded off the lug nut on our JK because I didn’t have the exact size 19mm socket that I needed. These saved me a $50 trip to the tire shop and I can use them again if needed. Make sure you hammer the socket onto the lug nut so that it really sinks down to cover most of the nut. As soon as I took the torque wrench to it, it broke loose, perfectly. Getting the bad lug nut out was a little tricky. I couldn’t knock it out with the included little sleeve (you need a table mounted vise to do this properly), so I just grabbed the socket with vise grips and used the tool in the reverse direction to unseat it.

I bought this product hoping that it would remove two rounded off lug nuts. After pounding on the correct socket size to the rounded lugs, I was easily able to remove the rounded off lug nuts in about 5-10 minutes. I also highly recommend a good bench vise in order to back these sockets off of lug nuts. The teeth on the sockets appear to be holding up, however, I've only used these for the two lug nuts. I would highly recommend these sockets to remove damaged or rounded off lug nuts!

My 21mm Toyota Camry lugnut swelled so much you could only get it off with a 22mm, but it was slightly big. While successful with 19 of the 20 lugnuts, 1 decided to round out and was stuck. Bought this kit and within 3 pushes with the breaker bar I got broke off the stock lugnut cap(i didn't know it was a cap), removed the cap and continued to bite the nut under that and got it off in 1 push with my breaker bar. Highly recommend.

I've had some stubborn lug and these tools will work great. I've purchased products from Shanlkly before and I've never been disappointed. This is the metric set so it comes with a 17mm, 19mm, 21mm, and 22mm sockets. The case that it comes in isn't bulky so it's easy to store once I'm done using it.

Service shop broke 3 Lug Nut keys trying to get off very tight “locking” nuts. They only successfully got one security lug nut off after 2 hours of various attempts. I ordered this Shankly set and a 24” breaker bar. I sprayed WD-40 on the nuts two days ago. The Shankly set and breaker bar arrived today. I made sure the other lug nuts were tight. Slow and steady pull on the breaker bar with the remover perpendicular to the wheel as I applied a slight pressure with my palm to keep the Shankly engaged. The three lug nuts you see were all removed in under ten minutes. Remember to afterwards use a hammer and the removal rod to get the lug nuts out of the Shankly. I suggest using the Shankly that will bite on with only hand pressure as you turn. Banging on a smaller one with a hammer will possible break the Shankly or squeeze the lug nut making it harder to remove. This tool rocks!

This kit is a MUST HAVE! I had a lugnut get rounded off a few weeks back, got the kit yesterday and immediately put it to use, easy to use: just tap the desired socket needed onto the stripped nut or bolt, hit reverse and don't worry, the stripped lugnut came right off in less than a couple of seconds. Definitely worth having in any tool box.

Worked like a charm to remove the wheel locks on a Toyota Sequoia. It has sharp, gradually spiraled ridges which securely grabbed the very smooth surfaces of of the wheel locks. There is a slight taper so that the tighter the nut is, the harder it grabs.

This product works as advertised. Here is my experience. My wife’s 2012 BMW X5 had the original continentals on the front. She hit a curb and got a flat. I was able to break 3 of the 5 lug nuts loose the last two however would not budge. I used a breaker bar. PB blaster penetrating oil. My neighbor who is a mechanic tried a snap-on torque tool and the 17mm socket broke. Ultimately trying our best to get them off, i finally had the car towed to CarMax where we originally purchased and I told them whoever put these lugs on over torqued them and they were impossible to get off. They tried to get it off and ended up rounding them. I looked on Amazon and found these. I myself was in the CarMax parking lot a little skeptical because after 10 days I, my neighbors and the CarMax service were unable to get these two lugs off. I put the 17mm Shankley socket on the lug I attached the 1/2 breaker and began to use my body weight to push down on the breaker bar. The socket moved a tiny bit then I felt it “bite” I pushed and pushed and I heard a loud crack which was the lug breaking loose. I removed that one and had the same experience with the last troubled lug. I highly recommend these they totally work!

Had lost my locking lug nut key and used the Shankly 21 mm twist socket to remove 5 locking lug nuts (4 mounted rims + spare). Was able to get all 5 off. Noticed that the internal ridges of the socket were starting to smooth-out with each nut removed. By the 5th nut I had to hammer the socket on pretty firmly to get enough of a bite to keep the socket from slipping. Probably couldn't remove too many more lug nuts with the wear in the socket, but they did the job.
