Before using these, my hens would constantly kick all of the shavings and straw out of their nest boxes. These allow them to scratch around a bit and fluff them up without kicking out the nesting materials. Their nest boxes stay cleaner (I have a few hens that don't roost and sleep in nest boxes instead). They are easy to scoop out poop or dirt if need be and can stay in use for several weeks before I need to change them out. They look nice too.

My hens like these much better than hay/straw or shavings as a nest box filler. They are also cleaner and seem to be somewhat resistant to bugs. Will definitely buy again as needed. They fit well to most size boxes as you can manipulate the material easily pulling on it.

I really like these much better than straw or hay which the girls rearranged and pushed out of the nest boxes. They can tug on this and rearrange, but there is nearly no mess from these. I haven't had to change them in my 4 nest boxes (even in the most popular one) since putting them in about 5 - 6 months ago.

These things are awesome! I have been using the same 2 mats in my nesting area for 3 months! The chickens have gone in and rearranged the "fluff" multiple times. Sometimes there are 2 nests and sometimes 1 large nest. Occasionally there is small debris noted but very easy to pick out and keep clean. I currently only have 3 chickens laying so that may be why they are lasting so long. I will have more layers in a few months so we will see how they hold up. As for now, I am so glad I found these. They are a million times better than straw!

had these for a while, chickens love them,,, the chickens seem to keep the box cleaner, boxes without them have to be cleaned almost daily, the boxes with them haven't been cleaned in 3 weeks. they seem to take the scratching well also. i bought them out of curiosity, now I would recommend them

My biddies were kicking the shavings out of their nesting boxes and laying eggs on the wood. Got these and they’re perfect. They create their little nest bowl without exposing the floor beneath. They will last a long time, if they don’t poop on them.

The Chickens love these. I love them because it's stays dry unlike straw which can mildew easily. And because it's grabs onto itself so we'll it's doesn't fall out easily like straw or pine shaving. It keeps the eggs from hitting the hard wood I do mix in pine shavings to bulk it up a bit. They can pull it and move it around easily after you do a little fluffing when you stick it in their boxes.

These are convenient for me and the hens like them. They fluff them up and make nice nests for their eggs. If an egg breaks or the nest is soiled, I can just take off the dirty material or the whole piece if needed.

These are working so well in the roosting box for our chickens! We have used one in about 2 months and occasionally it gets dirty and we shake it out. The girls love the coziness of their box.

These are far superior to those I had previously bought at our local farm supply store. I had bought another brand in a 10 pack to use in my nesting boxes but my hens just laughed at me. The other nesting material was so thin that the girls only scratched it off the paper backing when trying to fluff it up (imagine a 1/16” nesting material on 12x12”wax paper). These nesting pads are wonderful. I had reverted to straw in my 4 nesting boxes but the hens kept scratching it out all over the place so I started with putting these pads in 2 of my 4 boxes. All of the girls started laying in those 2 boxes. I added it to one more then finally put them in all 4. The hens have scratched and fluffed the nests to their hearts content and now lay in all 4 boxes rather than just 1 or 2. I have had those pads in place for almost a month and just shake them out when they appear to have large dirty spots and they keep going. I will definitely be buying these again!
