It works great on my laptop. Having 4 ports is really nice to handle multiple devices. It's easy to use and works as described.

This AUKEY 4-port USB-C to USB 3.0 works perfectly. When you are running short of older USB 3.0 or earlier ports on your laptop or notebook and just have the newest USB-C port available, its great to have the option to step up your capacity. Small, compact and light weight, its great for travel or just for when you don't want something large taking up space on your desk. Featuring four Type-A USB 3.0 ports and great for charging your smart phone/tablet, plugging in a keyboard or wired mouse or plugging a USB fan. Supplies each port up to 900mA Max. Definitely portable and is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices.Shows a green LED to show power status, small and portable and great for travel. Overall, a solid USB-C mini-USB port hub worth trying!

Able to get some nice speed through it for an external 3.0 drive as well as a keyboard and mouse. Fairly compact as well for portable use with my laptop

- Very slim and light - Brushed-plastic casing - Compatible with my laptop (Lenovo Yoga 910) - Comes with a 24-month warranty if you register it on AUKEY's annoying website No complaints in the 2 hours I've been using it. Here, take five stars!

Here is my setup: I have a MacBook Pro on my office desk connected via USB-C to an LG 5K monitor. The monitor has a built-in hub with 3 USB-C ports. I use this hub connected to one of the monitor ports to connect my legacy devices. So this hub is daisy-chained through another hub. I know you aren't supposed to do this, but I wanted to be able to unplug just a single cable when I took my MacBook away from my desk. In spite of the daisy chained connection, this hub works great. It's able to work with medium-power devices such as my DVD drive. It is small, light weight, and reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

What I used this product for is to covert a previously useless USB Type C port to 4 USB 3.0 ports. My Z390 Dark mother board came with a USB Type C header, which I was unable to use. So I got a cable to hook into that header, then bought this hub to plug into the Type C connector. I have the dongle for my wireless headset hooked into this, a sensor for my Oculus Rift and a wireless adapter for my wireless keyboard. For me, data latency with this hub was extremely important. If there was any kind of additional latency, my Rift sensor wouldn't work correctly and my audio wouldn't sync up to games and videos. But I haven't experienced any issues with it whatsoever. I'm really happy with it so far. I tested file transfer speed using one of my portable external hard drives and bandwidth was good. It wasn't 100% of the speed I typically see on a single USB 3.0 port. The file transfer speed was about 75% of what I normally see, so around 80 MB/sec out of the usual 100 MB/sec. But that was with all 4 ports filled on the hub. So, pretty darn impressive in my opinion.

Does exactly what it says. No setup needed, just plug and play.

The Aukey USB C hub just arrived so I haven't put it through any rigorous use yet. I attached it to the USB C port on my laptop and then attached a USB 3 thumb drive with some large files. As the thumb drive is USB 3 I wasn't able to take full advantage of USB C speed but nevertheless the files transferred seamlessly and quickly to my laptop. As the newer slim laptops don't have a lot of drives and ports in them anymore I had a need for a hub to attach my accessories. The hub arrived in a tab box that can be used for storage with a manual with a few instructions and precautions such as connecting the hub before connecting devices to it, for best performance the power demand of connected devices should not exceed the max current output of 0.9A, not recommended for charging tablets and other devices with high power demand, etc. They invite you to connect with them on social media and show the included sticker. The solid body of the hub is shy of 4 inches x 1.25 inches and the plug-in wire is about 8 inches which means it's very portable; a plus when I travel. I'm using it on a relatively new gaming PC with solid state drives (I had a second one installed). I haven't used it with my USB C external drive yet but I'm sure it will work great. I don't know how long it will last but I will update this review if I have anything to add. I am happy with this hub and for the price and it's portability I have to give it 5 stars and a thumbs up.

I was upset when I found out my usb c port on my computer was only a gen1, despite despite not being able to put out video this USB hub really does take advantage of every bit of the usability of the port. I have a Microsoft natural keyboard, Logitech gaming mouse USB dogleg, monitor with a 2 USB port hub, and it will still run my Western Digital passport 2 terabyte hard external hard drive with no problem. It's really impressive from a hub that's not externally powered.

Got this when I replaced an older Mac with a new MBP; didn't expect to be able to charge through it, but when I tried my AppleSuper Drive, I got this message..."Connect Apple USB SuperDrive to a USB port on this Mac." I rechecked the Amazon listing, and sure enough, it says "...Devices with high power demand such as Apple SuperDrive shouldn't be connected to the hub." So, my mistake. Excellent service from the seller, though! Device works the way it should, just be sure that’s enough for your needs.
