Works every time.

I have owned many dinner bells over the past few years and this is of very high quality. The craftsman were able to get this into a great shape and when you add all the angles together it equals 180 just as any good triangle should. The tone is sweet to the ear and I have heard this dinner bell from over 390 yards away. So glad we got this, since purchasing I have not missed any dinners.

Ok we bought this for the lady of the manor kind of as a gag because everyone is always off doing their thing when mom has dinner ready and she used to have to yell for everyone to come and get it. The reality though is that this dinner bell works fantastic. It can be heard throughout our entire large home, and in warm months outdoors with our windows open. The dogs hear it and they run around herding children and dad barking out what I am certain must be "Dogese" for "hey mom rang the bell its food time!" in fact as mom gets ready to ring the bell both dogs watch her intently and get into their starting positions ready to run in their favored directions for corralling the "herd". The bell is exquisitely made. Its sound is not only loud and pronounced but actually quite melodic. Mom has really got her technique down and she can ring it like some old chuck wagon muleskinner might have back in the 19th century. This product has provided a great deal of joy to our family meal ritual and amuses guests and visitors/neighbors when they hear it sound. The device came with the hanging bracket and was very easy to mount, just be sure to mount it where your tallest family member or guest won't smack their head on it passing through a doorway. it's solidly built and could leave a mark, and of course the "false alarm" could cause a revolt of hungry family members. My advice if you are in the market for something like this is....COME AND GET IT!!
