Best OVERALL stun gun available and a nice bonus!

This Sabre stun gun offers many attributes that are vital for using a stun gun as a self-defense choice. The ability to penetrate 3-layers of clothing, new anti-grab technology, the comfortable grip, a decent little LED light, level III on the pain scale (Sabre’s site educates you on the different levels and the amount of pain certain stun guns administrate), etc. IMHO, it's the best choice overall for a stun gun. Sabre stun guns are the best way to go when selecting an option for self-defense. They are the only company who measures the true strength of their stun guns. They don't use volts like EVERY OTHER seller of stun guns. VOLTS ARE A COMPLETE MYTH! If you wish to confirm that statement please do your own research concerning them, start with visiting Sabre’s website first. To be better informed about what stun gun you want as a self-defense choice, please read on Sabre’s website, “Stun Gun Voltage: One of the Biggest, Most Dangerous Myths in Personal Safety”. It provides the truth concerning stun guns (their ways of measuring the strength and the TRUTH about volts). In addition, I wrote a review on the nearly identical VIPERTEK VTS-989. Mainly due to it's near identical shape, features, and particularly their boast of 15 BILLION VOLTS. Electrodes per centimeter apart equals 30,000 volts. So for example, if the electrodes are spaced 5 centimeters apart your max voltage is 150,000. The differences are as follows, Sabre measures their stun gun with the assistance of the National Institute of Justice. They use microCoulombs (µC), not volts (again, which are a complete myth). MicroCoulombs are the TRUE measure of strength. The VIPERTEK VTS-989 delivers .987 µC charge of power and the Sabre S-1009 delivers 1.25 µC charge of power. This puts the Sabre S-1009 as a Level III stun gun and the VIPERTEK VTS-989 as a Level II stun gun. Please read up on Sabre and you may be shocked concerning that there are so many false claims regarding voltage. Thank you. Any larger voltage claim violates the laws of physics. 15 billion volts sound EXTREMELY impressive, but, those figures violate the law of physics. As I mentioned previously, 30,000 is the maximum voltage that could jump across stun gun contacts or electrodes spaced one centimeter apart. It’s a false claim. Unless the “stun gun contacts” or “Electrodes“ are 500,000 centimeters apart from each other. Having purchased this model (VIPERTEK VTS-989) for my Mother through a different vendor, I’ve researched and discovered these facts. If you’re contemplating purchasing this model from Vipertek, I urge you to reconsider and go with Sabre’s S-1009 model. The model (VIPERTEK VTS-989) is designed NEARLY identical to Sabre’s S-1009. Although, performance and reliability is a different matter entirely. I attached a graph, it details different brands of stun guns, as well as Sabre and it’ll show the measurements of microCoulombs (µC) and voltage. Edited 5/12/2018: After reviewing the Sabre S-1009 stun gun I neglected to write about the police strength Sabre Red pepper spray... For less than $25 this is a steal. You’d normally pay $25 at least just for the stun gun! Anyways, I researched the pepper spray as well. These words from Johnny Knoxville pretty much sum up the quality of this pepper spray... “But the most pain (I ever felt on Jackass) was probably from getting sprayed with SABRE Red pepper spray smack dab in the eyes. Excruciating pain for at least 20 minutes. It feels like someone started a fire in your eyes and put it out with kerosene.” That’s from a guy that used to torture himself with friends as a profession! Sabre is the #1 brand trusted by police and consumers worldwide. It’s also said to be, double the average strength of other brands of pepper spray and and just as potent as our industry-leading police sprays. Lastly, it’s a level III spray with major capsaicinoids ranging over 1%. Which is enough to deter a bear. And regarding gel pepper spray, they can be just as effective as any other. It’s main purpose is to eliminate wind blow-back. So, if you live in a windy city consider a gel spray.

Never received all items ordered

So I contacted Amazon about my order because the pepper spray was not in the package and neither was the charger for the stun gun. I had just had a package stolen from my porch a few days before so I think they thought I was messing with them. I wasn't! They said there was nothing they could do after their investigation. Very disappointed!!! The gun has some charge and when I tried it (not on anyone) the sound alone scared the crap outta me. I presume the sound alone would scare someone away, if not, the electricity between the prongs I'm sure will do the job!

Bought this for our college daughter. She loves having it and feels safer with it in her hand while walking to her car or classes in the dark. We've had her try it, which she was nervous to do, but feels she will be able to do what's needed in an emergency.

Nice little product

I feel safe again

My puppy and I were almost attacked my a loose dog so I immediately purchased this so I would never have to face that fear again. I have yet to had the need to use the pepper spray but I have used the taser. A few dogs have made me nervous on our walks so I have turned on the taser, it makes a very loud noise when it goes off so far that has been enough to make the dogs run in the opposite direction before things escalate. I keep the pepper spray in my purse and usually take it out to walk to my car or whenever I feel unsafe, great peace of mind!

Safety First

I like the bundle and packaging this set came in, I bought it for my friend so we can be safe if someone tries to break in to our home. My other friend has let us tase him and he fell to the couch but still was able to get back up. It is always good to be safe, I recommend these products hands down

A stunning sale

Excellent value. The stun gun is incredibly powerful. And produces a thoroughly terrifying zap noise. The manufacturer made it stupid proof. It’s almost impossible to zap yourself with the slide indicator which allows you to select the off, light, or tase position for the taser itself. It feels well crafted and has taken being dropped 3 times. The LED light is powerful enough, but it cannot contend with a flashlight. It is quite blinding though when pointed at the eyes. Comes with a can of mace. Very discrete bottle and also stupid proof. Requires operator to slide mechanism into position prior to use. The taser charges quickly and is also very small for its powerful abilities. The antigrab bars are a great addition.
