This is the best docking station I've had. I was previously using a Plugable USB 3.0 dock, and it worked great, so I knew this one wouldn't let me down. I am using this with the HP Spectre x360 15t. It powers the laptop and connects everything all through a single tiny USB 3.1 Type-C plug. For displays, I am using two LG 24UD58-B 24-Inch 4K UHD IPS monitors. They are connected using the DisplayPort cables. On the monitors themselves, I had to manually open their menus and switch them from HDMI to DisplayPort. Other than that, everything worked out of the box with no configuration on my part. Very happy with this dock.

This was purchased specifically to be a docking station for the HP Spectre x360 15T laptop with Intel i7-8705G processor. I wanted to purchase the higher level Thunderbolt only dock station from Plugable but could not get a definitive answer if it would work properly. (I think it would be fine but didn't want to order it and have to send it back if it didn't) I am a knowledgeable user but not a power user or techno geek, I wanted to easily set this up, get it working and move on to more important things. The unit was very easy to setup, plugs into one of the thunderbolt ports on the HP and will also work on usb-c without thunderbolt. In my configuration, I have an external 1080p monitor with built in speakers connected through hdmi. I have a WD 3Tb Passport backup drive connected by standard USB-3 and a Dell DVD connected by USB-3. the unit is also connected to my AT&T mobile hotspot using ethernet through USB. All of these devices were easy to set up and work flawlessly. Now some details: The dock station does provide charging to the HP laptop so the only connection the laptop needs is the USB-c cable that is provided with the dock station. The power charging is limited to 60 watts. There was concern that this would not be enough for the power hungry processor in the HP but I have seen no point where the power meter dipped below Fully Charged 100% USB ports: I wish this had 2 more USB-3 ports on back and at least one more on front. In my current configuration I only have one empty standard USB port and that is on the front of the unit. The front also has an open USB-c port that I am not using. I like the separate headphone and microphone jacks. I use the headphone jack but do not use a microphone. I was concerned that one unit connected to one USB-c port may slow down when trying to simultaneously provide data to the storage device, video and audio to the monitor, and internet upload and download to the hotspot but I have seen no evidence of this, the speed of everything seems to be the same as if it was all connected directly to the motherboard. I can not provide comparisons and speed tests etc. but I can tell you that it works perfectly, was easy to set up and allows me to get to the work I really need to do and that is what I really care about.

I am using this dock to turn my Dell XPS-15-9560 into a desktop via the USB-C/Thunderbolt. I also have a 4K Dell monitor model P2415-Q. It all works seamlessly together. The monitor connects at 60HZ via the Display-Port. Also I have tons of other devices connected (Brother Laser, wireless MS keyboard and mouse, WD terabyte external hard drive, lots of USB hubs.) All devices work like a charm automatically. Two hints though, as noted on the plugable web site, the XPS-15 can be charged just fine with the 60W via the docks power no problem, but the laptop BIOS will warn that it is below the OEM power adapter wattage. You can easily turn off this warning. Also for whatever reason, on the monitor, you need to set the input source to "mDP" (mini-display?) rather than "DP". Not sure what that is about, but it works fine linked to the laptop and the 4K picture couldn't be any better. Its great when a complex piece of technology like this dock works so easily!

Out of the box, this device works with factory default HP Spectre 13t (8th gen i7). The monitors worked instantly. The laptop was being charged via the single USB-C connection to the docking station. No configuration necessary. Awesome. I wiped the drive and put a fresh copy of Win 10 on the laptop to remove all the bloatware. If you go that route, be advised you'll have to go to Plugable's website to download the driver. This is easy peasy. Will be purchasing more of these, and the Spectre 13t, to replace our aged laptops.

My complete configuration is below... Plugable USB-C4K Triple Display Docking Station - UD-ULTC4K is a great product. It does everything it says and than some... Initially, I did have 1 flickering screen off the one of the DisplayPort connections. After some troubleshooting and finalizing my configuration (Note: I did replace one of the HDMI 10 foot cable with a 6 foot cable & did reseat all my video connections Screen 1 - HDMI to HDMI cable / Screen 2 - DisplayPort - HDMI Adapter to HDMI to HDMI cable, and Screen 3 - Display Port to DisplayPort cable. I have not had a flickering screen for 36 hours, so fingers crossed that it is resolved. Love the product! 1. HP Spectre x360 15.6 Notebook - HP Model #: 15-bl062nr 2. For a year or more, I've been dreaming of ditching an old desktop computer and moving my family to all laptops with USB-C Thunderbolt ports and being able to single-cable-dock any of them to a setup with dual monitors, keyboard and mouse. That dream has become a reality with this Plugable Docking Station. I have an HP Spectre X/360, and I recently got a Lenovo Yoga 720 for my son as he starts high school. I got a wireless keyboard and mouse set from Logitech and two ASUS 23-inch 1080p monitors. The monitors don't have DisplayPort, so I needed one DisplayPort to HDMI adapter to get them both hooked up. I plugged the little dongle for the mouse and keyboard into one of the USB ports on the back of the Docking Station. Then, I plugged in the HP laptop and everything just worked. The only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't close my laptop, but buried in Advanced Power Settings under Power Buttons and Lid, you can set the laptop to "Do Nothing" instead of "Sleep" when the lid is closed while plugged in. Problem solved. The laptops both charge with the USB-C connection. It is so rare that you buy a product and it does exactly what it says it is going to do. This Plugable Docking Station does exactly that.

I couldn't be more pleased with this device. I have it hooked up to a new Lenovo X1 Carbon Laptop. I have 4 External Monitors hooked up (not at 4K) to this dock in the following manner: DisplayPort #1 drives a 24" monitor at 1920 x 1200 using a DisplayPort to DVI Adapter Cable DisplayPort #2 drives a 24" monitor at 1920 x 1200 using a DisplayPort to DVI Adapter Cable HDMI port drives a 20" monitor at 1600 x 1200 using HDMI cable running to a HDMI-DVI Adapter The 4th monitor is using a Plugable Model UGA-3000 USB to DVI Adapter (https://smile.amazon.com/Plugable-Graphics-Multiple-2048x1152-1920x1080/dp/B00A2E1MQA/ref=sr_1_1?)ie=UTF8&qid=1535833923&sr=8-1&keywords=Plugable+Model+UGA-3000 This particular adapter was purchased 2 years ago and has been in use with a different computer until now. By the way, all these monitors are 7-10 years old, so I was concerned about compatibility issues. There were none. If I leave my laptop open, it acts as a 5th screen and the display extends across all 5. I can close the lid and just use the 4 external ones which is my normal mode. I plugged it all together and it just worked. Of course, I'm also using the Ethernet plug on the dock. My speakers are plugged into the headset jack and I have a laptop cooler plugged into one of the other USB ports. I generally leave everything running 24x7 so I hope it continues to operate properly for a long life. I'll report back if I have any issues.

I've finally found a great dock for my new macbook pro 15" that supports 3 monitors (plus the macbook screen). Not only that, but it powers my macbook pro! So far everything works perfectly. It even got rid of the issue where one of my monitors stopped coming back on after waking my macbook pro (when monitors directly connected to macbook pro). Great dock and highly recommend. Macbook Pro Specs: MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017) 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3 Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB Monitors (all 3 the same): Acer G276HL Gbd (outputs are DVI and VGA only) Cables are DVI to HDMI (for one monitor), other 2 monitors have same cable but then connects to HDMI to Displayport adapter. Dock has 2 display ports and 1 HDMI. I have to say again that it's amazing to have 3 external monitors, network cable, power (comes with a USB-C power cable), webcam, external HD connected to just 1 USB-C port on my macbook pro; leaving 3 ports available.

Dock works great with: usb, usb-c power to laptop, both DP ports work great (one going to HDMI and another going to DVI on monitors). Plugabble website says the following models support all 3 usbc display modes: 13-w023dx,13-w005na,13-w055nr,13-ac033dx,13-ac0XX,13-ac039tu,13-ae0XX reported by customers, 13t-w000 confirmed by Plugable. But i could not get the HDMI output to detect any monitor. Assuming this means mine is having trouble with USB-C Alt Mode support. I contacted support who responded first thing the next day. First question they asked was whether I was using the USB-C cable included in the box. Embarrassingly I did read the instructions that said to use it but I thought my braided Anker type C was easier to maneuver so I did not. I would suggest they add some clarification to the instructions that SOME USB C CABLES DO NOT SUPPORT ALT MODE VIDEO! I switched out to the provided (much thicker) USB C and now I get 4 monitors(including the laptop screen).

Wonderful piece of tech. Plug and play is an understatement. This dock has handled just about everything I throw at it (still working out the network, but I don't think the dock is complicit) and asks for more. Every single port is filled and working every single day for 10 hours or more. I even have two passive ports attached to get a few more 3.0 ports strategically located for stick drives and charging small peripherals like my MX Master mouse. I'm sure the new P71 Lenovo helps, but I'm very impressed. I am running off this dock the following: 1 LG 43" 5k monitor running at highest resolution (DP) 2 Acer 32" 5k monitors running at highest resolution (One on DP, the second on HDMI) (I also use the laptop display, for a total of 4) 1 Thermalake drive bay with a 5TB SATA drive (USB 3.0) 1 Sennheiser PC 31II headset (mic and headphone jacks) 1 CyberPower 1500va UPS running shutdown software (USB 3.0)
