No moving parts and spring for adjustments, should make this last a long time, unlike the Merkur Futur IMHO. Good weight, balance, feel and looks. Unfortunately My course curly (African American) hair only gives up on #6 for 3 passes with a feather lite , so I can't take advantage of lower settings. I tried 6 to 4 to 2, no good. It was nice to find out. Total annihilation of the barbed wire, BBS, slight stinging here and there with the feather lite, none with astra blade (not as close though), great for the head also. NO INGROWNS

Thick coarse beard, always looking for most efficient (Aggressive) razors. Usually use fatboy on 9 or murkur slant. Best shave so far except a little burn, went straight to 6. And father blade have to try other blades, awesome start

No brainer. Start on #1, shave a few days, then keep moving up until you find your sweet-spot. Blade holder #3 is perfect for me; good compromise between speed, comfort and closeness. I routinely face lather with Arko soap stick and a boar brush. I shave daily and change my blade every Sunday. Rockwell has a blade disposal bank for about $5 with a removable bottom so you can dispose/recycle the blades at your leisure and reuse the blade bank. I also purchased the razor stand, which was $$ but worth it to me as I store the razor blade-in. Always rinse and dry your blades before reassembling the razor and putting up for the day. Witch hazel after shave for a sting-free end game. Do not throw away your cassette razor if you travel by plane; TSA does not allow DE razor blades in carry-on luggage.

Previously had a Weishi DE razor. This one looks, feels, and performs much better. The finish seems to be of great quality, and all of the interchangeable parts match up with great precision. The shave is much closer, with fewer nicks and less clogging. I am using the fifth size, and only have cut myself once due to an accidental slip.

This is a well engineered system. the interchangeable heads are machined well and grip the blades and align well with the top unit. Finish is superb, smooth chrome with no defects. Knurling on the handle is deep enough to ensure a good grip even with some lather on the hand. Good heft and weight. Gap between blade for each head is accurate and parallel. The shave I had used with the enclosed rockwell blades was so so. Switched to Vokshod and Wilkinson and obtained nick free close shave. I highly recommend this product. Costs a bit more but with the lifetime guarantee it was well worth it.

If you're coming from a cartridge razor, and want to get into wet shaving with a safety razor, buy this one. There are so many different DE razors out there, so when you're wanting to buy your first one it could be intimidating. Some razors are very mild and will prevent you from getting a close shave, while others may slice you up with their aggressiveness. Everyone's face and hair are different, so it could be frustrating to find your personal "goldilocks" razor. In the past, I've wasted money on razors that were terrible for me. With the adjustable plates being 1# for super mild, up to 6# for very aggressive, you can put in a plate that suits you. It's like having six razors in one. The reason I say this is the best razor for beginners is because of the lower numbered plates. The number 1# razor is so mild that it does seem truly impossible to cut yourself. However, it doesn't seem to cut well. Maybe if you have long hairs it would, but I shave almost every day, so I never got anything out of it. The number 2# plate, on the other hand, works pretty well. I still find it extremely difficult to cut myself, but I get a surprisingly close shave. Not baby butt smooth, but still satisfied to go out in public. This is the PERFECT plate for beginners so you can master your technique without risk of destroying your face. Once you get comfortable with your process, graduate yourself to a number 3# and so on. This is my preferred plate as I'm able to get a close, comfortable shave, while still having a low risk of nicking. Maybe when I get better I'll move up to more aggressive 4#, 5#, and 6# plates. Also, for beginners, I recommend also trying out a variety pack of razor blades. They are sold here on Amazon and other sites. Get a pack, and find your ideal blade. I personally seem to get a good shave with Astra SPs and Derby Extras, but as I said, everyone is different, so the classic phrase "Your Mileage May Vary" or simply YMVP that you see on shaving forums definitely applies.

I already own the Rockwell 6S (stainless steel version), so I pretty much knew what to expect from this razor. The 6S became my grail razor, and what few other razors I own have just become stalagmites in the back of my shave cave. I certainly didn't need this razor, but it is just too damn pretty to not purchase (plus I have some really nice looking chrome plated handles that I can use with it). The fit and finish of all pieces is perfect, and I actually feel that this version glides more smoothly on my face than the 6S. In fact, I have some blades that are kind of so-so in the 6S, but work really well in this razor. I'm not sure why this would be, but I only know what my face feels. The razor has a large "sweet spot", so I'm always able to easily find the right angle to get the job done, and as bulky as the head looks, it is really quite easy to maneuver areas like under the nose. This is just a fantastic kit for the price and I think it would be almost impossible for anyone to not find a plate that works for them.

This is one very well designed razor. It's solid and weighty, which, when you put it lightly to your face, has the razor almost shave you by itself. More or less, you simply guide it along in the direction of where it's to shave. The three different plates make for different degrees of aggressiveness. (I have used #3 twice for a perfect shave. I will experiment with #4 the next time I use the razor.) The fact that there are no actually moving parts to the razor is a relief, since the razor I replaced, the Parker Variant, did have moving parts/mechanics and broke, without my having dropped it, mistreated it or anything. That can never happen with the Rockwell 6C. Besides the double edge blade, there are 3 parts to the razor. This makes the razor extremely easy to clean and dry after shaving with it. The parts each have what seems to me to be a more extensive chrome finish which, if the razor is cleaned and dried properly after its use, will have the razor's finish last for decades, at least. I'm fortunate, actually, that my Parker Variant broke, as the Rockwell 6C is a superior razor at the same price.

Quality razor. Great shave. Very smooth. I have sensitive skin and receive no irritation at all with this razor. I own several other de razors and none of them perform as uniquely as this one.

It's a cool razor. It has nice weight, and is superior craftsmanship. You'll have to play with it a bit to figure out which guard to use. I use it daily for my morning shave with the #3. I'm not the most experienced wet shaver, but if you're just getting into wet shaving, this is a nice razor to learn the basics so you don't carve your face to pieces.
