Works Like a Dream1

I am the official maker of Fruit Salad for our large family's summer gatherings, because I make sure to put a lot of fruits you don't find typically in a Fruit Salad. i've always pitted cherries by hand and cut them in half to add in. The juice makes a fantastic addition to it. But , it takes me forever, my hands are purple, and I don't include as many Cherries as I'd like to because of the amount of work. This tool is FANTASTIC. Quick action, easy clean up, and I don't lose the meat of the fruit cutting by hand. If you use a lot of cherries - this is a very economical and high quality tool.

Now obviously if this was an electric automated pitter, that would be the best. But in the absence of that, I do love this little device. I was able to pit approximately 4 gallons of cherries in about 90 minutes. And let me say these cherries were little buggers. The pit was not "free" as in most cherries, it was more like a plum, where the flesh is firmly attached to the pit. This pitter still worked though and I had a good amount of meat from the cherry left over. The only improvement I would recommend would be a larger catch bin for the pits. It seemed I was emptying it quite often. Also, the suction didn't work on all surfaces. It worked on my marble counter top, but not my wood dining room table even though the wood was not porous at all.

I do a lot of baking and cherries are the most annoying to pit so I try to stay away from it. The cherry putter totally changed my attitude. easy to use, fast and convenient. I totally recommend this

Love This Pitter!

We pit somewhere between 16 and 20 lbs of sour cherries every year and freeze them for pies at the holidays. This has made this job so much faster than the handheld pitter that we used to use. I use about 2.5 lbs per pie and it takes 15 mins to pit 5 lbs with someone else pulling off stems and dropping cherries into the tray. A note - as some mentioned - sometimes it misses the pit. This kinda sucks in a pie, and the plastic on the catcher clouds up really fast so you can't see the pit come out. So we have a tip! If you're going to do a large quantity of cherries, spread out a plastic table cloth (you will not have suction) and let the pits fly right onto the table. Every time I plunge I pay attention to the bottom and if I see movement, I know it came out. If not, I check the cherry by hand. Just finished up 20 lbs of cherries in 2 hours :)

Easy to set-up and clean

This product is just as advertised. It works well in pitting cherries and cleans up easily. It suctioned well to a sheet pan I was using and worked as expected and advertised. I would recommend it to anyone who has a cherry tree or is into the canning processing of cherries.
